Here in the UK amongst classic enthusiasts, it is said that you haven’t lived until you’ve driven a mini! Definitely a score especially as Wolesley was seen as the prestigious marque amongst British cars at that time.

What a bargain! A beaut of a car - love it. Takes me back to my teens in England. You are so right about the roller skate handling. Looking forward to seeing some more of it.

What a deal! Such a great looking car. Looking forward to seeing more videos on it. Maybe even taking us along for a ride. Cheers

Wondering if this little cutie was the inspiration for the faux Rolls Royce add on kit we used to see on VW Beetles way back when. The bustle boot is a hoot. Smokin' deal Randy, congrats!

I love it! My favorite color. If it were LHD, I would daily drive it.

Same rear tail lights as an MGB and other BMC cars at the time.

Similar, but not the same. They are actually the same as the Austin and Morris 1100 cars.

Sorry for being a little pedantic here, but the English pronunciation of Wolseley is Wools-Lee.
I'm so pleased the non-syncro gearbox (where the gear lever used to jump out of first gear unless you held on to it!) was replaced. With the old gearbox, to achieve first gear you had to slip it into second then flick it rapidly forward into first to avoid teeth-crunching.
In following Mini models, the gear shift was moved back to a more logical place.
I loved my Minis; I'd drive an original BMC one tomorrow if I could (with syncro box please!).

The Police in many areas of the UK used Wolseley cars in the 1940's, 50's and 60's. The appearance in the rear view mirror of a lit Wolseley badge at night caused many a driver to sharpen up his driving.

      That’s awesome!
I really need to hook up the light on my badge. Such a fun little detail.

You really scored getting the mint condition Hornet for that price, Randy. Congratulations. The PF in the registration shows it was originally registered in Guildford in England.

    mini mini cooper !
There are no Variants from Riley or Wolseley with "Cooper" Engines, Trim, Brakes and all the stuff that made a Mini Cooper a COOPER!

      Well yes… you are correct

And if there had been they would have had to pay the Cooper royalty for privilege.

What an awesome little car! Great score, Randy! I too would rather have a bit of a worn original interior versus a restored interior. Maybe one day I can drive my 1960 Metropolitan down to your lab and check out some of your rides. That would be so cool. One thing....on the rear bumper on the Green Hornet, do I detect one of the bumper guards possibly being mounted upside-down? Just kinda caught my eye. Take care, Randy! Stay cool, man!

The one guard on the back is bent a little…I need to repair that. Good eye!

Looks like they used a mini carryall and stuck a
    regular mini roof.

In England, they pronounce it Wool-zee.

Bargain price! When I was a kid, I had a friend who's dad had a Crayford Heinz 57 Wolsey Hornet, his dad said he'd won it in a competition!
