The selling of freehold lands by chiefs to individuals must be abolished.. If its leasehold then chiefs can do so.. Freehold must be controlled by lands commission. Chiefs must release it to lands commission and sign off the release documents. Once it is signed they get their money and case closed. Lands commission will work with licenced approved agents to then sell to the public. With this law the lands commission will inform the public it will not register any land sold by chiefs to them.. Until such a law is passed the government must step in to resolve this issue.. It will be disheartening to see them lose their homes.. Sad

Failed systems plaguing Ghana. If Lands Commission is privatised, they will be efficient and their documents will be respected. As of now, you can land title yet an imposter with money can still take your land from you, why? Animal Kingdom!

There's so much wickedness in the hearts of people in Ghana. The people know where that auntie araba is. Everyone is robbing someone.

Gosh… this people are fucked… I feel so sorry for them.. they have just been taken advantage of… Lands commission needs to take their sensitization very serious and be out there warning people about the right procedures and way forward… The corrupt people over there too have to be fished out and removed.. Our land system is so messed up, it really needs serious restructuring 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

When you buy land in any part of the country you are safe, but land in Accra. Then prepare to pay more or lose it. My relative is a victim.

Failed due diligence is the cause. If you dont do a search, fail to confirm ownership , and complete your registration, this is what happens. Sorry I listened to each story and the fact they handed money despite the failed validation of ownership is sad, but expected.
Sometimes there are cases where due diligence does not help but most of the time it does.
Too many Ghanaian’s force land purchases.
Take your time, plot the land, do an official search, verify ownership, hire a lawyer to validate the docs, pay it in full, register the land and you’ll usually be ok. Skip any step, you’ll end up like these poor folks.

I just don't understand what is going on.
Are they not laws in the country to deal with these kinds of headaches?
There're government agencies to deal with this and why are they quite for these people to be harassed?
Enough is enough. The laws must deal severely with people including chiefs who sell lands indiscriminately.

Blame them. Don't blame government agencies as the law says "buyer beware".

@@theophilusampiah5163 what kind of stupid law is that which states ‘buyer beware’ but then ‘chiefs continue fooling around by selling a plot to multiple people’?😏

it seems these residents did not follow the correct procedure. When you buy land you are supposed to go to the Lands Commission (for check of ownership) and register it then have your indenture also as proof of ownership...A receipt of payment is not enough. Also alarm bells should have started ringing when you are told the land was sold by a person but the actual owner is another person? I feel sorry for their situation but it seems these residents will have to relocate.

@@wedjongkwowe4679 Bro i fully understand and no I'm not in Ghana but i have purchased land and listening to the guy that bought his land in 2010 when asked to produce the indenture he started saying about the owner said she needs 10 people before she can get the chief to sign....right there is the red flag...as i said i feel sorry for them but where is the indenture. no one can produce one...Lack of due diligence im afraid

Exactly my point 👉 👈, why do you give full amount to Aunty Alaba without Land paper aka (indenture) it has gone on for many years 🤔.
