I just seen the video by Reason on the battle for a California desert and it was in the antelope valley. The video is from 9 years ago on how the government was forcing people off their own property. I wanted to know how it went after nearly ten years. This video from a few years ago doesn't fill me with confidence that everything ended ok
My parents bought a lot of land there in the 70’s. They tell me developers planned to build a fancy resort there but they didn’t. Said they had commercials on tv about it to get investors hooked, but just took their money and did nothing there. Does anyone else have any info similar to this?
... I predict that if Slab City keeps upgrading and opening businesses that earns money, the Gov't is gonna find a way to get that land, AND start charging residents for occupying a space. I pray 🙏 that it doesn't happen. But, when money is generating, the 'powers that be', gotta/wanna get a cut.
Actually I do this kind of stuff for fun. I don't live that way currently but I could if I wanted to and would enjoy it. I know how to live pretty well like this. The guy with the bunker has it down right. Most of the "homeless" are a different story. We do them a disservice to by calling them homeless, they are typically mentally ill people who are not receiving any treatment what so ever because we don't bother. We need to seriously rethink how we distribute government funding. Stop wasting it on petty programs and start using it to help those who are in actual danger if they don't get help. I can't believe we spent so much on war in Iraq, how many of the people living homeless would be in a care facility getting actual help had we not spent the money on killing people?
@@catvlog1451 As long as you don't say your going to harm yourself you can do what ever you want. Of course a lot of people are just too out of it to even know where they are day to day and we let them do what they want as well. You can see the results.
The City has already burried this place. The place and location came to their attention vis-a-vis this video. Regarding the rattlesnakes question, yea, indeed, this is their realm. Mojave Greens and scorpions run rapid out here. But, for the most part, such creators will respect you and leave you alone if you do the same. The only true enemies of the environment tend to be scavengers and thieves, the people one lends his hand out to. The authories follow the law, for the most part, when situations such as this one are brought to their attention. And I suppose you can neither blame them nor the true owners of the property whose land has been encroached upon.
what a devilish thing to do-------- the guy is down on his luck and the city destroys his home ? The landowner likely did not care as he was not ready to build on it yet anyway ?

What if they don't want God crammed down their throats? (Pretty much all shelters do) Where there is freedom of religion there is also freedom from religion! So in order to stay at a shelter, your rights have to be violated!

I've known a few in a town who built shelters were they would house homeless and released inmates. Many do have medication but refuse to take it as is their freedom and right…
