What camera do you use: My main camera is a Canon R6, and I use a Canon G7X for vlogging.
How do you edit?: I use Adobe Premiere Pro. I am entirely self-taught in filming and editing.
How do you find music for your videos?: I use Music Bed for royalty-free music which allows me to make an income from TH-cam :)

I've started journal after watching your previous videos, and it does help me to process my thoughts. I first got the feeling of 2020, you are talking about in this video, way back in 2018 when I moved to my home town (a rural area in Ukraine) and started working online. I discovered local sites more profoundly, slowed down, started reading, doing more yoga and cooking, bought a camera to capture nature I admire. I listened, observed. And these are the things I came up with:
1) Being present is like shooting in slow-motion mode: you see something you like and make a movie with your own eyes prolonging this moment. So experience with a camera taught me HOW to enjoy every moment and see the beauty of it (especially, when my digital friend is not around).
2) Due to this lockdown situation all the planet was able to see and feel what I've already experienced. I feel like I got hundreds of soulmates less than in one year :) I think any place on this planet is worth admiring and I'm happy to see people awakening to this fact and idea to live in line with nature.
Thank you so much for this heartwarming movie. I especially love these small details of nature you film (10:37-10:50), because I myself pay attention to these when taking a walk. A charming house you have inside and out!

I always find your videos an escape, I have and will always love North Yorkshire (all my family are based there) and watching these videos just excites me for when I finally move there too. I feel similarly about this year, I spent a lot of time alone in nature, thinking about what sort of person I want to be and what I value in my life. Lockdown has been amazing for reading and I have found myself reading so much more of late. Thank you as always for this wonderful corner of the internet, I hope this year is amazing for you and that you are able to do more of what you want!

So true what you say about just bimbling around the woods and paths that do not necessarily take us to the highest, remotest, furthest places - as a hiker I know the drive for new challenges, drive to exceed limits, push myself beyond my comfort zone, etc etc. But it has been so relaxing to just love the scenery, focus on nature's beauty, breathe, see - without obssessing about height, distance, wind speeds and all that. I had the most dreamy walk on New Year's Day, a walk on a hill in the snow, with magical shifts in low cloud, silvery sun, ice glinting like rough diamonds. Stunning. May health, contentment and happiness be yours this year.
This is what my and my wife's souls need.

Happy New Year! The lock down has its silver lining in that it forces us to slow down to the speed of wisdom and reflect, stand still and be in the precious present, to let go. Nature is a blessing and teacher if we can slow down enough to take in what it has to offer. It will reveal its mystical magic in its own quiet way. Thanks for sharing your own reflections for 2021. Lovely video Athena, very atmospheric as usual. I've kept a Journal since 1974 and before and my wife and I both regularly update them. Your perspective is of a long future ahead and mine is slightly different being 69 and with two sons and grandchildren. I do look forward to what is ahead, I have a watercolour exhibition coming up in the summer (Covid to one side) and I also find myself looking back over the ups and downs of life. Even at my ripe old age I still find the world fascinating and it is wonderful to see you as a younger generation reflecting on the great value of nature and the environment. Have just 'read', actually listened to, the audio book of James Rebanks 'English Pastoral' which is a follow up to his life as a third generation farmer in the Lake District. It really leans on the wider picture of how farmers are becoming more concerned with the balance of nature and how it actually benefits their farming business.

Hi.. i'm new... The title of this video sprang up on my recommendations, and as a nice refreshing change in our manly household, i put up something a little special, and there you were. I really enjoyed the nature shots and your walk, and i found it a bit confusing when you began to talk more on your diary/journal, but that's fine, each to their own, and you spoke honestly from your heart, thats for sure, you certainly were not offensive in anyway and i'm sure many people find you moments of self-reflection, a real helping hand to resonate with their own healing. One thing i was stunned by was how beautiful your house was. You sitting in the sun writing, and then inside against that gorgeous window, the colour of your jumper brought so much warmth into your home. I spotted this, mainly due to my facination with peoples faces, bone structures, tones and colour, i paint animals, wildlife, but my main passion is people and form and colour. Your face in that dim light really gave me a sense of wanting to paint you, just for fun and practice, there are only so many positions one can sit in before they become boring, and i have overdone painting myself now. My husband thinks im mad, yet my children are picking up the artist vibes in our home. What do you think? It would be just head and shoulders? Am i a bit weird asking you? If so just let me know, i appreciate creative feedback. Cheers!!

Good morning Athena, I started my day watching this video before work. You, and what you share are very inspiring, and I always have a sense of peace and joy after watching your videos. I was able to spend the first weekend of the new year in the Smoky Mountains, and hiked up to Ramsey's Cascades (you & Harvey would love it!). After the chaotic year 2020 was, I decided to start 2021 being out in God's creation again. It had been 10 months since I was last in the mountains, just about 3 months since my last hike in the hills of Tennessee. I hope 2021 is a better year for all of us, and we'll see what it brings. Again, thank you for sharing a part of your lives with us...

2020 definitely made me slow down and be more absorbed in nature. I am so grateful for the seasons, in all respects (wildlife, flora, and weather). In the past I struggled with the darker evenings and shorter days. But this year I am finding a lot of comfort in Hyggë and coziness. I get creative from nature when I walk or run too. I always want to do everything now, but as someone once said “life is a journey.” Your videos are always inspiring. Happy New Year x

Loved hearing your thoughts. In Guernsey we have been incredibly lucky with our lockdown being very short and life continues on much as normal, save for going on holiday. I have found peace in my own company and treasury looking at the birds feeding outside and the simple pleasures of life ❤️

I also write all the good things that happened to me at the end of each year, to remind myself of all the positive memories and project that I received and created during the past 365 days. I've been doing this for three years and it is a very sweet and warming tradition, I highly recommend it.
I also write my intentions and this year it's mainly continuing the ones I started in 2020 (meditating daily, eating more fruits, trying to drink more water, going outside in nature more frequently)
Thank you for sharing such positive, calming and nature focused content. It really helped me slow down this year, focus on what's really important to me and escape a little bit of the urban madness.

When you get the chance - Canada is worth visiting - but the peaks and lakes are the best part of the UK
I would absolutely love to visit Canada! Harvey has spent a lot of time there. I’d love to travel along the west coast but all of the country looks incredible 😊🙏🏼

Beautiful scenery especially in the snow! We saw Roe deer for the first time in Edinburgh a few days ago. A family of 4 or 5. We were just exploring random woods off the beaten path. Places we'd never had even considered going but for covid and lockdown!

Wow. What a beautiful video. Oslo is so cute. Your so right about wanting everything now with dreams, goals. I get frustrated most days because of how long it takes me to build my website, and learn how to use my camera in order to start selling my product. But I have to remind myself that I'm not as fast as everyone else. And to just take it a step at a time. My cat's remind me in their own way. To stop work, and just be in the moment, to enjoy a cuddle or two. So, thank you so much for your video. I also have shared it with a friend who is a writer. I think your videos may inspire her to write more and get out more with her dog Selkie, a Spanish water dog. Anyway, take care and be safe xx
