Fleetwood Mac - Intuition (Behind the Mask Outtake)

- This first and only take of the demo "Intuition" was written and sung by Rick Vito during his time in Fleetwood Mac. The song was turned down for the Behind the Mask album but was later re-recorded with Stevie Nicks for his solo album "King of Hearts" in 1992 alongside the duet "Desiree".
Audio file has been restored to best possible quality it can be.
This is from the bootleg outtake album Other Side Of The Mask the 1989 - 1990 sessions for Behind The Mask.

What an AMAZING song!!!
BTM is in my opinion Fleetwood Mac's best album. The fact that even the songs that were cut are amazing is a testament to how good the album is overall.
If this and 'Got No Home' were on it replacing 2 appalling pieces of trash that have no place on it ('Stand On The Rock' and 'Freedom'-yes, Stevie, can't believe I'm saying this, but as far as I now know, the worst song to date by an original FM was this disaster-"poor little fool" indeed!).

@@allenfamily8763 You're mad, it's awful, clumsy, lazy, banal, worthless and simplistic. Too many are way too kind to Nicks when she gets it wrong. Granted, while I wasn't quick to pick up all their albums, and find a few of the things on their debut kind of slow working, and a few of the things on "Tusk" a bit dumb, and used to unaccountably hate 'You Make Loving Fun' which I've totally changed my mind on, I never didn't accept any FM album song or B-side that I knew until I reappraise this album, and while "Behind The Mask" is somewhat underrated, there are 2 sucky songs on it, one of them by Nicks, and that's true. I now know, of course, there are ones like 'Intuition' and a few of the others that should have made the album cut instead.

@@allenfamily8763 It's not a disagreement, it's a nothing, like that rubbish song you like, but I guess a whole paragraph is more than most can handle these days. You're right, shouldn't waste my time, just wondered what the chances were I'd ever come across someone who actually called this rubbish Nicks song one of their best!
Wow, they should have put this on the album.
Especially when there's 2 frightful pieces on there in the appalling 'Stand On The Rock' and one of Stevie's-the wretched 'Freedom'.

Honestly, I knew nothing about these BTM demos. Maybe they've been floating around forever, who knows ? I really like this one. It's from Rick Vito, right ?
Yeah. And he later used this song in his solo album "King of Hearts" in 1992 (With Stevie Nicks on Backing Vocal). Very good song :)

Rick Vito and Billy Burnette may not Lindsey Buckingham. But recruit both of them in Fleetwood Mac was the best thing Fleetwood Mac ever did. I love to explore their own music or anything that featured their contribution :)
@@SamuelOrru it's confirmed from Rick Vito himself that Intuition is one of the songs he wrote along with a couple others the band worked on but got turned down for the album

"Hi,
That song was recorded at home as a demo during the Behind The Mask sessions.
Someone stole a number of cassettes that featured our demos at that time,
and that's what you have, a copy of my demo."
Why on earth did they leave this song and Paper Doll off Behind the Mask?
"Paper Doll" isn't an outtake from Behind The Mask, it was recorded for Greatest Hits in 1988 but "No Questions Asked" was chosen to go on it instead. This also isn't a demo/outtake from Behind The Mask, but rather an early version from the King Of Hearts sessions. The backing vocals people seem to think are Christine are just Rick and another backing vocalist. They're even present on the album version, but harder to hear over Stevie's.
@@SamuelOrru Well she's hardly heard on the album anyway (Stevie) so it hardly matters. What's King Of Hearts by the way? But point is, 2 awful songs are already ON the album and need exorcising from it forever-and this pleasing song and 'Got No Home' are the to do it. 'In The Back Of My Mind' is lucky it stays, but only in single 'edit'. Hardly an edit at 4.35, that's longer than most Kim Wilde songs that are long! ABBA too!
