Jeremy is right, the backspin will gets is crazy and Eric hits the ball just as hard but was getting top spin. I think people underestimate how much backspin matters in distance. Not just launch angle and exit velo
eric gets top spin cos his swing is horrendous. he just swings as hard as he can hoping to make contact with the ball. The way he pulls his head, he'll always get on top of the ball

It’s crazy to think Eric is leaving so much on the table in terms of power, and will gets every single bit out of his, in my opinion the leg kick is what causes Eric’s biggest problems, he leaks out so far with the leg kick, and he kind of just goes forward instead of staying back, with that being said he’s obviously a lot more experienced and successful so what do I know

Eric is used to faster pitch and is hitting off his front foot and will is a machine machine stepping on glass and off his back foot. I also think Eric switching between the machine and BP is messing up both.
Eric, I have said this a few times. Learn to swing with your body, not just your damn hands and arms. You should be hitting no joke 550 on a bad day. You are way out on your front foot, bad swing form. You might have big arms, but you are WAY off balance. smaller leg kick will keep your feet under you. Keep weight behind the ball until contact, and then explode.

Eric's swing really only works for wood bats at sea level. He uppercuts the ball so his force vector is on top of its CoM. Composite bats naturally reduce spin rate and higher elevation requires higher spin rates to carry the ball. He's not getting enough spin to carry. A slowpitch player who cuts the ball with launch angle would be ideal here. You need 2500 rpms minimum

Eric's been in a slump for a solid year now
Most people say they can adjust in a few days or a week to elevation but when I moved to above 5000 ft elevation it seemed to take months to adjust fully. I was so THIRSTY I never drank so much Gatorade ever. It makes a big difference for nearly everything. Even my dirt bike had to adjust to new elevation and it ran better after it got used to it.
