I'm just now realizing that those trees are supposed to be like the ones from dante's inferno, weirdly disturbing little reference in my childhood game
I never realized until just now that the game kind of descends through the 9 rings of Hell with the frozen area being the final ring before the final boss - which the turtle turns into a demon that resembles lucifer. The levels had a progressively more corrupt and hellish / twisted feel to them always, and it confused me why we had an inferno level and then frozen right after it of the same environment and then moved back to a weird demonic seeming area to fight the final boss. I never realized this until a friend started talking about them and I realized after googling a picture of it and had a "wait a minute" moment.
It was even explained by in-game lore - Jazz and Spaz are so pure of hearth that even them entering Hell was enough to cause a literal Cold Day in Hell. Also, I have to admit, the idea to pay homage to both Dante Alighieri's work and Doom at the same time - in a Sonic like game no less - is nothing but pure genius. Something like this could happen only in the 90's.
Was the "Hell Freezes Over" level the first level of the last campaign though? The "Dark Groove" and "Jazz be Damned" levels were the next levels to follow suit. I am still puzzled why we started in a winter wonderland first, and then teleported to a hellish landscape.

I too played much games like AOE 2, Jazz jackrabbit 2 etc and such memories are attached with that old environment like playing AOE in the morning and age of empires till evening. I miss those times and i have thoughts of such games. Also, God make forgetness so that we forgot. Yeah, Its real that some thoughts are strong memories. But believe in Allah(God) and god-willingly, You will find peace. We shall return to God and that God's heaven is such beautiful that we never imagined if we do right deeds. Think, If such things(Games, movies, musics, entertainment) aren't made then we do think of these? In the end, May God give you peace of mind and guidance!

Sometimes, I come here to listen to JJ2 soundtracks, including this one. It brings me a peace of mind. It helped me motivate myself several times when I hit rock bottom. It also reminded me of the time I used to play this game with family and friends. Good times back then. Still, I am glad that the community of this series is still active, enjoying the company of these soundtracks.
I'm 17 years old and my elder brother (which also played all the time with me) is 19. We both played this game since 10 years ago (when one of my best friends from kindergarden first showed me this game) until today. My elder brother doesn't play with me anymore cuz he is busy, but my younger brother (8 years) plays with me! I teached him how to play this game rather than teaching CS or CoD or Halo etc. And i am not dissapointed of what i've done. I cry whenever i think i'm too old for this game
I used to play this game A LOT with my brother and sister 15 years ago. On birthdays, we even played with my nephew and friend. We sat down with 5 people on a small wooden bench in front of one PC (with a giant beige screen). Man, sometimes I think back to those times and shed a tear.. Those are good memories

I have never played this game. I don't know how I found this music, but it ended up being my ice-themed fight music for DnD. The first time that it was played is when a snowy wolf and two icy wolves ambushed the group...only for the snowy one to stand up on two feet and go full werewolf on them upon defeat. It caught the archer's arrow mid-shot and snapped it. Good times. I should play this game.
@FXrubiP If you have problems again, try right-clicking on the icon, then going to Properties -> Compatibility -> Run as Administrator. I installed my copy using the disk version and had to do this toe it work, but I haven't had any problems since. A lot of older games don't run right unless you do this. Some deal with the data or something. The downside is that you don't get to use your old saves, but for a lot of games it's worth it.

Fuck it, i still play Mario 64 on Nintendo, i still have the Sega Megadrive with all the games! So what they dont have good graphics? You just have to look past all these CoD and BF (not all cod and bf games were bad though) and all these lootbox filled garbages and you will find nice games. Just like music. People say modern music are trash, but those are only mainstream musics.
I love this piece of music, but the sound quality on this is crap compared to playing it at 192kHz in XMPlay (though you do need a sound card which can handle that sample-rate). I wonder what's more at fault: simplistic player routines or aggressive compression?
