+Airport Info HQ wow thanks for adding in the time stamps !! Great to hear you enjoyed. The trip was amazing and glad to hear you think video brought some of it alive 😀
Loved it, the cabins reminded me of the cabins built by my Finnish ancestors who migrated to the mining camps in Montana and Idaho. They had saunas too and friends angled for invites
Sauna is so common, because it's a bath. It's a form of steam bath, where after sweating your skin pours clean off the dirt stuck there. After that your skin feels like a baby skin, and it improves your blood circultion (IF you don't have a heart condition, then it's better just visit the warm with throwing water on the stoves, and don't stay long. Just when you start feeling you're warming up, you can leave to the showers, and come back again, if it didn't feel bad. Sauna is normally 80-100 C hot, so with a heart condition you can heat it to 60-80 and just visit to get warm. Doctors likely have better advice. The main strain in the sauna comes from the hot air wave coming from the stove. After you throw water on the stove, it's heated quickly to steam that's gone invisible and cooled several degrees by the time the heat wave meats you. Just like you may take hot shower, but this is steam, invisible. So it's not scalding hot, less 80 C hot by far when heat hits you :) The steam is a bit cooler than the air in the sauna - but when it meets you, it feels hotter. Just like hot tropical air feels hotter than arid (dry) hot air, though it might actually be a bit less hot. I was in sauna just last Sunday - and still feel the effects. Especially the improved blood circulation.
+awsome face thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Much appreciated. I am trying to show more of me doing activities so pleased that works !!
Wow, those bears were amazing! I've only been to Finland in the Winter, which was an extraordinary experience, but I'd love to go in the summer one day too. The wild food experience sounds amazing!
+Mike's Road Trip It was pretty fantastic to see so many in such a short space of time. Though (unlike other parts of world been to) they do leave food out every day which many regions do not support as feel interferes with natural way of things. But was great to see so many !
That was great. Your videos are always good. I don't think I would do the dog pulling husky hike.....I deal with that with my dog just going for a simple walk.
+Wayne Harris thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Much appreciated! Not having a dog to haul me around on daily walk I appreciated the novelty of being pulled along and up the hills !!!
that was so interesting and made me remember, that I was drawn to visit Finland (outside of the regular city trip to Helsinki). I know, I would love to see the region around the northern polar line. not during winter :-) I never knew, what else to expect and what to do. I didn't want to be one of those, who just stay in a wooden home for a total of two or three weeks only enjoying the woods and go fishing everyday. I had no idea, what was going on there. Then Finland went out of focus for so many years. Glad I saw this video. It is an inspiration. (I must say, I really enjoy your videos, how they are made. I discovered your chanel because of a Venice video. I am not so much into cruising, mostly because of environmental concerns. And although I like, what you show us and I did even begin to consider at lease a short Euorpean river cruise, I would love to see more videos, about other forms of vacation. If that is possible for you and in your plans)
@@nursen2106 I understand, I’m sorry to hear that. I have plans to finally go back this summer and I’m really hoping they turn out. I wish you the best for the coming years!!
@@gabegalley6879 Thank you for your wishes! I hope, you can go and have a nice and joyful time there! And thanks for making me re-paint my mental pictures of me in Finland :-)
Sauna Tour and Learning about and maybe a wild berry foraging walk. These two are interesting to me because they’re both common daily lifestyle habits in Finland. Are there any cruises in and around Finland you would recommend? Thank you for the videos.
Thanks for your great review, mister. Liked and subbed. Your British accent is soothing to hear too. :P I'm planning to have a trip in Finland around June or July this year, when the summer comes. At the end of the last year I was in St. Petersburg, and the weather was surely crazy for me because I'm Chinese, hence not really accustomed to the constant snowy days there. And my knowledge about St. Petersburg neibouring Finland certainly had me worried about the climate and culture in Finland. But after looking into things, I can tell it's cozy in the summer and the Finnish people are friendly to LGBT persons as well. So I can rest assured having a fun trip there I guess.
Oulanka national park, so the river is called Oulankajoki, as in Oulanka...joki, not Oulan..kajoki as you said it :) Joki (said like 'Yocky') means river, so the rendtion Oulanka River Works. Oulanka I can't translate. Sounds an old Word, or could be made from the Sámi language, the indigenous people of northern Finland. Oulanka might derive from the same origin as Oulu, the name of the city of 100k people ('capital of the North') in the delta of a river with the same name. That name comes from one of the Sámi languages, but don't remember the meaning.
It's quite safe to hike amongst bears in Finland as long as you make some sound and don't engage a mother with cubs. In Kuusamo some of them will probably cross into Russia, they don't see borders ;) Do you consider it unsafe to hike in bear areas in Russia?
You say "we" in the video. Are you travelling with friends and/or family? Are the prices very different for groups or about the same as for individuals? I have to say I don't think I would have strength to go alone on such an adventurous trip, haha. Also, I love huskies so that activity wins for me!
I as travelling with a small group of friends. The prices were not different, although of course hotel rooms were one price and so more expensive if not splitting the cost with anyone sharing with or a partner. The huskies were amazing and was incredible how much easier they made hiking. Thanks so much for watching and taking time to leave a comment! Much appreciated

Taking photos of the bear in the mukk does not look good.
You should have asked some Finns for pronunciation advice...for example Finnish words are always pronounced with the stress on the first syllable...
Who cares
