I stumbled upon your channel a few months ago, and have really been enjoying your work. I’m a long-time pinball player and collector, and I have to say that this is the most robust explainer on the legal history of pinball I’ve ever seen. A lot of the stories about this focus on the repeal, often ignoring that the ban on pinball may not have been as unreasonable as it seems on its face.
Yep as well as anyone else who doesn't participate in the same hobbies as the other person. And the older generations will always 'blame it on the devil' followed with 'when i was your age i played with sticks in the woods with my friends.....'
Fascinating history.. I recently watched the movie Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game (2022) and highly recommend it for a fun historical tale. Also a worthy mention is Tilt (1979) Thanks for the great video!!
Like you said previous generations will find something to 'blame it on the devil'. I'm sure they did the same with carving wood, reading books, fishing, TV, movies and others etc. I was in Iowa and there was a fundraiser for CHILDREN EDUCATION and they had a contest involving videogames. I used this event as an opportunity to share the gospel and attempted to encourage the congregation into supporting the tournament at the library, yet they looked at me like i had corn growing out of my ears. It really was baffling to me ........

Electrified Bonus Holes... Sounds like a crazy night. 😂
I definitely wasn’t giggling to myself when I read that line into the microphone! 🫢
@@AlmostSomething Of course not, we're all way to high brow around here to giggle about such things...
If it's a form of entertainment, parents will blame it for their kids' bad behavior.

Thanks man!!!
Horrific to see all those machines just being smashed to pieces, old slots and pinball machines are beautiful works of art, such a shame.
I never knew this side of the pinball prohibition story.
Electrified Bonus Holes got me acting unwise.

That K under your name should be a M.
Did Tucker Carson narrate this? Sounds just like him.
never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined pinball manufacturing companies getting the same treatment as abortion clinics
humans are weird
Pinball isn't evil
