Unfortunately I spent too much time in fighting getting the stereo into the car I wasn't able to video at the same time. Complete failure on my part I'm afraid
I'm looking to do this on my Astra. Any idea if the steering wheel controls works following installation? Did they work natively or did you require an adapter of sorts?
@@Q7Prod thanks for the reply. It looks like you can get an adapter which allows the integrated steering wheel controls to still function. So looks to be needed to use with aftermarket head units. Thanks anyway!
the problem i ran up against was, there is no memory, when power is off and you restart car, you have to reset it, all settings are lost, there is 1 blue wire left over im presuming is for auto antenna, any ideas gladly appreciated.
I used a harness adaptor - Autoleads PC2-04-4. This connected between the back of the new stereo and the connector that was in the black harness. I had to remove this connector from the black harness when putting the new stereo in. I also used an Aerial Adaptor in order to get the radio to work!
In frustration just ramming radio toward engine lol also theres a harness attatchment to get ur steering controls back mine work just waiting for RCA cables and the correct radio adapter to arrive
Hi Dominik, I'm not sure I'm afraid. When I replaced the stereo I lost all the steering wheel controls and never really got round to sorting it. A quick google suggests that Connects2 (connects2.com/ ) may be the place to look for adaptors. Please note I haven't done this myself and I don't know if it'll work or not!!
Hi, the harness adaptor was the Autoleads PC2-04-4 and I originally purchased it from Halfords (an automotive parts shop in the UK) - but they don't seem to sell it anymore. You may be able to get the same one from somewhere like Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=Autoleads+PC2-04-4&ref=nb_sb_noss) but please be aware that I lost the column controls as the harness lead didn't support it; also this was the thing that worked for me - I can't guarantee that it'll be the right solution for you I'm afraid!
how had you connected it without losing permanent memory? or the display memory, for me every time I turn off and on my car, memory resets and I have to set it up every single time,it's very annoying
There are a lot of (much better) videos showing this process - I found several before attempting this myself... unfortunately I can't remember which ones I'd used!
I totally agree - but unfortunately I'd concentrated too much on the installation and not the filming! Now updated video description to highlight the "entertainment"
Youve only forgot to show us the most important part: How the factory one comes out and how the clip thing works
This video will show you it is possible to replace the factory stereo. It WILL NOT show you however how this was achieved.
Very true - I'd looked at several other videos (can't remember which ones now I'm afraid) before attempting this.
Haha So very true,,,,
ummm... yeah... also it has 400 downvotes and 200 upvotes...
The how to Part is probably DLC

Hey there, unfortunately the wheel controls stopped working for me. I never managed to figure out how to get them back! :(

@@ryguymods nice! Good luck with the refit!

How did you do the wiring? Is there anyway you can share more information about the process?

This will probably not get a reply since it’s an old video, but HOW did you get the black cradle out?
Trying to find this out too.
@@zoofless I took it to my local Supercheap Auto and they did it for me since I bought the radio from them. Maybe you could find something similar?
@@kerrinisaroxstar I figured out how to take it out, and now I'm rocking a cool Bluetooth radio 🙏🙏👍🏼
There is also a tray held in by star key screws behind metal tray that i think has to GO?
Hey Kyle, I only removed the black bracket... But maybe that's why I had so much trouble later on!
In frustration just ramming radio toward engine lol also theres a harness attatchment to get ur steering controls back mine work just waiting for RCA cables and the correct radio adapter to arrive
@@Kyle-bz9ue Definitely sounds like I got mine wrong then! Lost all the steering wheel controls after the upgrade; but the USB was worth it!
Ive got a MEX 6001BD DAB and AUX is what i need. If u ebay it its a 10 quid dongle type thing easy enough to wire in its called a stalk interface
How do i Connect the Buttons on the steering wheel to a new Radio or which cable is it?

can you please tell me where you got the harness adapter for your radio. i am looking for one.

You can take a jack from your old headphones and put the jack into the antenna hole

you gotta switch the red and the yellow cables
@ikosta98 - Not sure I'm afraid; everything worked for me first time once I'd finally got the thing installed! Not very helpful I'm afraid - sorry
my radio isnt starting up, and i tested diffrent hi fi, but it just wont start up -.- (i tested the adapter to)
Sorry, not an expert I'm afraid. You may want to double check your car fuses if you're still having trouble
They have a link to this article ?

Barcelona ❤❤❤
what is the name of the new player please ?
It was a Sony CDX-G1200U
You skipped the important part
Too busy trying to get the stereo fitted to film I'm afraid!
dude.. you have to show the action

Passably the worst video on installing a Radio..
And how to do? Exactly? Very helpful..not.. What a useless kind of tutorial.
Totally agree. Updated video info to highlight that this video is for "entertainment" - if you can call it that...
No offence
Bit of a pointless video
None taken - meant to be a bit of "entertainment"
Regnet es in die kiste??? Naja sauber sieht anders aus,
