    I cleanse my deck with prayer and crystals . I reorganize it then let it sit with crystals while verbally blessing it . works well for me and my friend who has more recently started learning tarot

    I rarely cleanse my cards, only if the feel a bit stuck or something feels off. This has happened maybe only a handful of times in my 20 years of reading tarot, and what I usually do on the rare occasions when they need a cleanse I just knock on them 3 times and they're good to go 😊 I always keep the deck I'm working with in my purse, even if I'm just going grocery shopping I always have my tarot deck in my purse 😂 it's not that I suspect I would need to pull them out while deciding between carrots or avocados, But I just don't feel right without a deck of cards on me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 kind of like my good lock charm or security blanket of some sorts 😅

    I am about Eclectic so I incorporate different methods into my practice of Tarot:
    1) Sage and Dragons blood Incense for cleansing.
    2) Crystals for protection and charging
    3) Oracle Decks for Messages of Guidance (but I will definitely try using them for clarification).
    4) Thankfully, I have Tarot decks with Astrological placement symbols on them. So, I will definitely try to reminder that.
    But I haven't gotten into the numerological aspect, yet.

    My favorite deck is the Tarotbot deck. It was my first deck and I got it off a Kickstarter fundraiser. I actually was never interested in tarot, but when I saw the deck online I fell in love with the artwork and just needed to buy it. Once I received it, I felt a really strong connection to it and tried out tarot reading with the little booklet for the first time. I am still learning to fully become a good reader. But now a couple of years later I am a witch and do all kinds of devination and spells. The connection I have to my deck is still by far the strongest and I have never had to cleanse it as I have to do with other decks. This deck means the world to me and led me on a very special path.

    On spreads....Celtic Cross, a 10 card spread, is a very useful method. You can even do a 78 card spread - The Pyramid - if you dare!

    My favorite way to cleanse or reset my deck is simply by putting them back in order and placing them outside with a crystal for a bit. Then i set my intentions and breathe on them. I also write down my questions and put it in front of be before I do my readings.

    This video was so helpful! I especially loved the idea of doing a simple daily one card pull to tune into your intuition and get guidance for the day ahead. It's a great way to learn tarot gradually and form your own personal connections with the cards.
    The past/present/future and problem/action/outcome 3-card spreads also seem very insightful without being too complex. I can see how looking at the flow of the cards almost like a storybook would reveal a clear narrative.
    It got me thinking - I wonder if AI could be used to generate custom tarot spreads and interpretations? Like an "AI psychic" that suggests card layouts and meanings based on your question. Of course nothing can replace developing your own intuition, but it would be a fun tool to play with and spark new insights.
    Anyway, thanks for this awesome video! Can't wait to try out these spreads and continue learning tarot. Do you have a favorite easy spread that you use often?

    Start with a mantra, prayer or meditation before beginning. Using tools like crystals or having ritual items like a bell or even a chalice or pentacle can help you focus on being in a higher vibrational state of mind - all of which would be my suggestion for starters.

    Not so sure if it is correct, but I like use tarot and oracle other way arround. As I seldom do ask clearly questions I first pull one to three oracle cards with main messages about what is important for me now or which message should I receive now and afterwords I clarify with tarot, for example: which situation it is about and than continue with identifiers (for identifiers I use sometimes even an different deck, so if a specific cards appears two times in one reading it means for me that this is the most important I have to understand). Cool video :)

    Love the video! The deck I resonate with the most is the Tarot in Wonderland deck, my go-to! My more lighthearted deck with softer imagery is Neo Tarot. I got the traditional RWS deck to start out with but the imagery is just too old fashioned and 'harsh' for me so I don't use it often.

    • @ornacia9330

      Also a tip to maybe make smoke cleansing easier. Get an incense box, look at the Xenos store. I just light the incense, close it and just put the deck on top. The smoke surrounds the deck and you can switch to another deck. I do this for crystals as well it's so time consuming!

      @@TarotwithRuby Yesss I recommend it so much! I love the guidebook, it is focused on self love if you didn't know already. I'll explain for a min - you have like the reversed and upright meanings of the cards but it's explained in a way you can use it as a mirror for self-care. It uses the card meanings to encourage self love, self care and self discovery. It can be blunt though, lol. There are also affirmations on the side & whole self-care spreads in the book. The cards are really cool and the book just sold me, if you already know traditional card meanings it's such a cool new way to interpret the cards if you would want to.

    Hele nuttige video. Ik ben benieuwd hoe jij je kaarten schudt. Vaak lees je dat je eerst drie stapeltjes moet maken en steeds de bovenste moet pakken. Heb jij met jezelf een afspraak gemaakt dat je het altijd op dezelfde manier doet? Mooi opgetut ben je daar 😀

    • @TarotwithRuby
      @TarotwithRuby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dankjewel 🥰 ik doe het niet steeds hetzelfde, maar vaak doe ik de overhand shuffle en dan tussendoor een paar keer de riffle shuffle. Afhankelijk van of ik met reversals wil werken, zal ik met de riffle shuffle 1 stapel omdraaien zodat ik die erin schud. Met orakelkaarten doe ik geen reversals, maar doe ik aan het einde mijn deck in 2en delen en dan doe ik het onderste deel bovenop en dan pak ik daar de bovenste kaart van. Met tarotkaarten pak ik eigenlijk altijd de kaarten die eruit springen. Misschien nuttig om daar eens een video over te maken, bedankt voor je vraag 😊

    Hi! I'm new to tarot reading, and I heard about cleansing with sage/insence/crystals, but I don't have any of those. is there another way to cleanse my tarot cards?

    • @TarotwithRuby
      @TarotwithRuby  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi! I actually don't often cleanse my tarot cards, only when I feel like it's really needed. Which isn't that often. BUT when I do cleanse them, I usually just knock on them and I visualise any non-needed energy falls out the other side. Sometimes at the end of a really potent reading I also knock on the deck as a thank you. Another way to cleanse them is to leave them in the moonlight or sunlight, whichever you prefer (I love the sun, so sunlight for me). BUT your cards might fade colour if you put them in direct sunlight, so you might want to put them in a protective cloth or box. Literally a dish cloth would work, as long as you put in the intention of cleansing your cards of the energy it no longer needs to hold. Hope this helps and I wish you a lot of fun and great insights on your tarot journey 🥰

    • @Shane-cb7ux
      @Shane-cb7ux ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TarotwithRuby Omg, thank you sm! I just saw this now, and yesss, I have tried knocking on them, but I will try the sunlight one! Thank you sooo much!!!

    • @TheBakingSlave
      @TheBakingSlave ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Shane-cb7ux The way I cleansed when I first started and still do is super simple. I usually take some crystals (but you dont need them) place them on the deck (if you dont have them then put your non dominant hand on the deck) and say a simple positive message....something like "Rid these cards of any negative energy they may carry and fill them with positive energy and light Amen".....it doesn't have to be those exact words, but something similar. Be careful of putting them in the sun too much because as she said they can fade and the heat can cause the lamination of the cards to lift, even if in a bag or box. I would just hold your deck or put it on a table, put your left hand on the deck and recite the above message :-). That honestly should be enough as all you are really doing is transferring negative energy out and positive energy in. The only time I do this is when I first receive a brand new deck or used deck. I rarely do it in between readings. I hope this was helpful lovely.

    I have read cards playing and tarot for 52yrs since it was past to me in family. I have never in that time cleansed a deck, separated or blessed them. Why would we have to, we didnt believe in this religious nonsense. Take your cards out the box, shuffle, cut, lay out and read, what could be simpler. Worked for thousands of years and then along comes the internet to complicate things. Sorry the internet did not cause the problem, people just made it harder by making a simple thing we can all understand complicated.

    • @TarotwithRuby
      @TarotwithRuby  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tarot is older than that! Tarot represents all parts of life, which is how we relate the cards to our real lives. So how nice is it if the cards we use to interpret things from our lives, actually visually look like the world we currently live in? When the Rider Waite-Smith images were created, there was still a lot of separation going on so unfortunately we don’t see any poc or queer representation in the original images.
