That's the neatest trick to put a chain back on a bar. Never saw anything like that before. Glad you're okay, love the music over dub and the colorful wood words.
When a pro like you gets hurt, it should be a strong reminder for us "weekend warriors" to be doubly careful. The cursing was real life, no worries. You showed great restraint to keep so short!
I'm cussing right now with an upper back that's completely shot. Mix of axe splitting and then lifting and carrying about 15 big logs when I was already kinda hurting. It really kicked in after I was done.
Listen Buckin, this happy this, happy that is what we all strive for and try to be. Acting like you never loose your shit when everything goes to hell or you get hurt is being human. Don’t edit that shit out cause it ain’t real. A man doing his best to be the best man he can be with flaw is better than a man trying to act like something he’s not and pretend he lives without flaw. I’d rather see you let loose a string of obscenity’s like the old furnace fighter in The Christmas Story than to pretend nothing happened. I’m glad you showed this cause most of us have a similar background and to only show the positive makes a person wonder what am I doing wrong, why can’t I get to where Buckin perceives to be. Love you man hope you a quick recovery
Hate seeing you get hurt man. We all go thru weird situations like that fall. Thanks for showing the '61 Impala. That was the FIRST model car I ever built, and it is the only model I can remember doing. Brings back old memories.
Unfortunately RICE was coined by Dr. Gave Mirkin in the 70’s and later admitted that he was completely wrong. Icing injuries right after is a horrible idea and delays healing. Keeping the injury compressed keeps it from swelling which doesn’t allow for vital nutrients to make its way to the injury. So please don’t follow the RICE protocol anymore. Your body will thank you later.
a logger never show this pain says a Broken logger 20 years later after the pain has been had. love ya buckin keep up the good work, and God bless. as a "young man" i find my self looking to what the old timers said. if it hurts bad wait give it a week then see if it works. if still hurts give it two weeks., and so on.
Well Billy Ray, I’ve been doing tree work for 40 years. Three weeks ago, I met my match and it almost killed me. Thank God for chain brakes! I wish I could send you some pics. A huge limb rolled over and pinned me to the ground…on top of my chainsaw! It’s still running, thankfully the chain stop moving after it cut an 8 inch rip in my pants on my left inside thigh! The chain brake was shoved so far forward, I couldn’t release it. It was only a 14” Homelite that I was using for clearing the limbs. I don’t know how the chain brake was applied, but I thank God for it!
Thanks Buckin for being such a stud, I’m havin a hard time of it and I watch you and how you approach things and it really helps a fella out. Thanks man, thanks for sharing your light
Oh man Buckin I am so glad the saw didn't flip back on ya brother. Not that it was wide open or anything but you know what ima talkin bout. At least it's your throttle leg and nit the clutching leg. Heck yeah I wood love to see the work being done on Myrtle. Love ya brother thank you🌲❤️🌲👊🪓
Billy that saw is ripin great I love to see that , but darn , I don't want to see ya hurt my friend, we love ya set back and take a break man. I pray it gets better soon . Love wins.
Not gonna lie, Buckin’, but I could watch you Fell, Limb, and Buck all day, everyday!!! You are a truly skilled human being, but more than that, it’s your words of wisdom and your CARE!! Not just your care for the people you interact with but also your care for the world around you!! I hope you heal fast, my friend!! Although that spill didn’t LOOK particularly nasty, we could tell you hurt yourself pretty good when you were walking around. Best of luck with a speedy recovery!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Not gonna lie, I'm more than a bit jealous of all the straight trunked trees you guys have up there in BC. We've only got Oak, Hickory, and Ash on our property, so whenever we have to fell one, or whenever one fells itself over in a storm or from rot, we always have a massive tangle of limbs to fight with. At least the Red Oak and Hickory make for great bbq pit fuel. Take care of yourself Billy, thanks for the videos!
Buckin’ my dad whacked his ACL, MCL, and meniscus back in the day. Similar situation, he was climbing into a truck that was parked on the side of a bank, his foot slipped off the step rail and he planted his back leg. Bang, all three completely gone. They had to take a piece of his hamstring to rebuild the one part. Luckily you didn’t do it that bad! Hope you have a speedy recovery and hope all is well otherwise!
Buckin…. I truly admire your determination. Love and kindness goes a long way to helping you keep going! So what if there was a little swearing? Your continuing message of kindness and paying it forward far out ways that negativity. Lord knows, who doesn’t swear!?!
Man, that looked like it hurt, we're about the same age and when we tumble we just play hurt, it's what our generation does. I will admit the walking it off takes a little longer and the recovery runs in slow motion but if we can't run we walk, if we can't walk we hobble as our best friends mock us mercilessly. Man, that's what friends do and it's worth every minute. Glad you and the saw made it, we need you to stay safe.
Hang in there Billy. Remember buckers are the forest’s longest living walking wounded species. I’ve passed my sixtieth year bucking trees and I don’t plan on turning loose of my chainsaw until the undertaker prays it from my fingers so I will fit in the pine coffin. And he better damn well not forget to put that old 72 Husky in the box with me! Love your videos and especially your outlook on life. Wish you the best.
Hi buddy, or if I may, hi Billy Ray. I just found you on you tube, it is fantastic to watch a pro do his stuff, not so good to see you hurt yourself but fella, you just man up and get on, shame some of our 'Workers' over this side of the pond do not have your work ethic. Retired recently from long distance crane truck operations all over the UK and Europe, screwed my left knee years ago, had 2 partial and 4 total knee replacements, the last one took me off the road for good, (Mediquack took my truck licence away) 😭 and now have time to watch quality footage on 'TH-cam' and live my dreams though guys like you. Power to your saws and yourself, I would love to meet and shake your hand but have to make do with watching a pro on film. May my man bless and keep you Billy. Mac near London UK 👍👋👍🥰
Buckin', just another day in your life, eh friend? Eh? Keep doing you and we'll keep watching, learning and loving you all along your way, which kinda resembles our way. Remember, this too shall pass...one day at a time...
Billy your my fav newest tuber... i tell min your whole postur was out a cilt before you started that tree ...your postur showed ur pain ...time you chillout...time ta go travellin and take her handy..yupp...
Glad I'm not the only one to throw an occasional chain. Mesquite around here is some tough wood. Always full of horse shoe nails. But, hey a good days work is an honest life for me. Thanks bbr.
Buckin, you are a truly good friend to so many of us and I am thankful for having the opportunity to learn from one of thr best. So many decades of knowledge that you freely share with us all. Just amazing and thanks for trying to bring Kindness back into the world. You've helped me alot whether you meant to or not. . Thanks Friend. Love you all and feel blessed just to be able to be part of this wonderful community. Thank You All and you know what part you play to make this and keep this growing.
"The music is better than what's coming out of my mouth" lol that one had me going. Glad you're okay. Little sore and probably stiff but still in one piece. I don't know how close that saw was when it flipped up but it looked close.
after hearing some of your stories an seeing you get hurt I can't imagine the pain you live with each day you are one strong man 💪 an im going to stop complaining about my few pains another great video thanks for sharing an telling it like it is
I use to work for John brown in NH cutting and trimming everything under the state power lines . In the Rain the snow all summer. Then got smart and started driving the big rigs!! Let's go boys
You can tell your hurting from the looks on your face as you move about with the saw in hand. I've done a sommit similar was cutting a big limb the limb rolled as it moved and took me down with it. Was out for about 2 weeks was horrible. Speedy recovery brother just remember all us buckin army were made of strong stuff and that's from u all us sending u healing powers. Stick some bar oil on it that'll make u feel better!👍🏴😁
I love your videos and I'm glad you are OK could of been worse I remember last time I got hurt my chain brake locked up while I was sharpen the chain and I ended up stitching self on tailgate of truck
I just watched you video on you telling what happened to you when you were seriously injured. I hope you get well soon Buckin' All the love from Amsterdam, Netherlands.
I did that crossing a beaver dam.... Went through a hollow spot and it took me an hour to get back to the truck only 1 km away. But... no permanent injury....was walking OK the next day.. Not fun when you are 340....
We all fall down, but it’s the strong that get back up and get the work done. You are a true example of the type of people that make this world better. Thank you!!!
So glad you are on the mend. While working on this big oak this spring I stumbled several times while limbing and bucking but was only left sore and embarrassed. The older we get eh? You be careful Buckin', You're kind of a National Treasure you know. Rare, a bit wrinkled perhaps but absolutely irreplaceable. God Bless you Buckin', give our love to your family.
Hey man I'm sorry about the injury. It's crazy because I did the exact same thing to my right leg several years ago while working on a great big disk plow. I was carrying a ~20 pound impact, the plow frame was covered in hydraulic oil, I took a bad step and went down in a heap just like you did. I felt a Pop on the inner side of my knee. Felt like a shot went through my whole body. I was sure that I was stifled, but, whatever it was, I got over it after several weeks. It healed back as strong as before, and I have full range of motion. No issues of any kind. I could not believe it. Hope it works out the same for you.
Knee injuries suck. Got one that’s going to have to be replaced soon. I wear a brace 24/7. Even sleep with it on. Get better Buckin. Go on a road trip and watch the world roll bye. Here’s to healing up!
Get well soon . Buckin thank the powers of life you didn’t fall on the saw, man I took a big deep breath when you went down . Please be careful!!!!! Love ya man
Aye, sorry about the injury Buckin. Hopes for a speedy recovery, I've been there myself many times and it torques me as well. On a positive note, that little homelite seemed to be workin pretty good as I would have been layin on it after taking a spill. Thanks for sharing and my hopes for a speedy recovery.
That little trick with the knee when your chain come off. Sorta like stringing a bow!?!? Never seen that one before! Always learn a lil somethin anytime I catch one of your videos! Thanx Buckin ill be sure to remember that one! Save me a BOAT load of time!
Welcome to the new subscribers and a salute to the true blues. Good vid mate , Glad the knees feeling better & wow that 61 impala’s gorgeous. . Have a great start to the week yall. … love to all, be kind , Love n hugs for mama buckin …..KDuff🤜…..😎👍🇦🇺
Ouch, you can see the exact moment the ligament probably popped, when your right leg is hung up and twists as you're going down. Not a good feeling, been there down that! All the best during your recovery, know you're a super busy guy, and hope this doesn't slow you down too much or for too long!
That was one HUGE tree! Unbelievable job! Sorry to hear that Buckin’! Get. Well. Soon! You’re one TUFF Hombre, and I know you will. There is so much more value in your videos, besides all the excellent saw manship, and tree felling. Take care of yourself! 👍✌🙏😊
Hey buckin. Kyle hodges. Buddy listen. In your line of work. Your life is on the line. Daily. Im just glad youre alive friend. Love ya like crazy. Buck on brother
You can do whatever you want, but just so you know the guy who invented (RISE), actually came out afterwards and said the ice shouldn’t of been on the list. Because it actually slows down the healing process by limiting blood flow. Good luck with your recovery!🙏
WOW! what a saw! it looks like it could saw through a pinch. I like the spring loaded tip on the Homelite. I've never seen this before. Great trick for limbing up in the tree top where you can hit limbs you cannot see..those finger size that flip & flop and kick the chain off. Yeah, you were walking on sawdust on top of round and moving wood. A recipe for a fall. Your guys can get some experience. Rest up. You ain't young any more. Experience will take you just so far and then age takes hold. So, now yo need to be more careful cause you may not bounce back so easily. Oh, and the back! you kill me reaching way out ,around and under those limbs while walkin' the log...just before you slipped off into knee injury territory. Rest up & heal up! That's your job now!!
I feel your pain man. Hyperextended my knee last week ground cutting in 9 foot high hedge row loaded with wild rose. Found a groundhog door and my right leg went for a visit. Continued to ground cut another 10 feet then went up a black walnut for 15 minutes. Didnt really feel it until I got out of the tree. Took the rest of the week off.
So glad you're feeling better! I'm positive you'll soon have no pain from that slip🙏❤ Tinman built one heck of a 922💪 and yes! I would enjoy seeing some of the gas tank footage with Morgan!
I probably would have fallen into the same trap also if I were there. The limb looked more substantial than it was and you had both hands full of a big saw and there was nothing to grab onto. It was a twist and turn and fall on hard, awkward limbs below. No soft place to land but creds, you protected the saw. (->:
Statistically it had to happen sooner or later, so I'm only glad it was a minor incident without blood, and guts and gore. And the anger is good, because it will keep you on your toes. Now you "just" need to relax and heal for a bit; then you'll be back at it in no time. Those were also the stakes when I was a bike messenger. You just knew that you would crash or collide from time to time. I had a few nasty ones and then some close calls, one being somehow to get my bike over an unmarked towing rope between two cars, and another one where I had to do a 30 Kmph sideways parking into a small car that cut me off. All the best, Billy!
HI Buckin' hope your knee stops hurting and heals up soon. I fell once a long time ago and landed on my right foot first, broke my shin bone length wise, kind of split it. Not so much that it was crippling, but my leg turned black and it was painful. Back then I had no money for doctors and took care of it myself. I splinted it with thick magazines and tape, but had to work... well, twenty years go by, and I break my ankle on the same leg. I am at the urgent care getting an x-ray and the tech comes to me with the film to show me... he says, hey did you know you broke your leg? I laughed, yes, I know I broke my leg. He realized how silly that question was and laughed too. He was confused because it was not in my records. Many things are not. I told him the story and he was wincing holding his hands in his armpits when I told him about having to work while that leg healed with no pain meds. I just remembered, I paid for those x-rays with a bushel of oysters I had in my truck that day. I left there with my films and a crutch under each arm. Life goes on, theres work to do! Right on Buckin, heal up and buck. : ) George.
Glad to hear you’re on the mend. I had a kinda serious back/neck issue last year that I’m happy to have gotten squared away nowhere’s near as bad as what you faced in the brush though years ago.
Awesome stuff brother buckin take care of that knee glad u could walk on it but them knee tears r painful take care brother great job on the monster maples

Ah Buckin’ sorry to see you injured bud, I hope you a speedy recovery. It’s “Rest Ice Compression Elevation” (RICE). Warmest regards. Tom.
And sooner the better. The early swelling adds to.the damage. Do what you can to get on it quick

Not gonna lie, I'm more than a bit jealous of all the straight trunked trees you guys have up there in BC. Take care of yourself Billy, thanks for the videos!
The tree in this video is a bit more like what we're dealing with down here, so I guess you get all types if you cut trees for a living.
I pray a full and quick recovery BR. Love heals wounds. Keep up the good living
Keep on the road to recovery! Surrounding you with healing vibes! ❤️

Dangerous work. Praying for a quick recovery and that you never get so comfortable on the job that you become complacent.

Great Video Buckin! I'm glad to hear you're healing up quickly! 👍🏻👍🏻
yer a good man thx

I feel your pain. I did the same thing. I slipped on the stairs and folded one leg like you did.
Be careful and have a speedy recovery.
As my Dad used to say to me “Man Up and keep cutting”😅 But seriously look after Yourself man.

Hey Buckin, I’m glad to hear you say you’re feeling better. The edits you put in when you were bleeping away were funny though
I’m thinking that if the Tinman built it then it’s got to be a snappy cutting machine.
Hang in there, Buckin’!
Sorry to see you hurt Buckin’. Pretty impressive you kept going. Sending positive thoughts your way for a quick recovery.
Keep up the great work.
thank u
Sure thing! Always like watching car/truck videos.
Speedy recovery Brother, that's 1 deadly sharp saw
: ) George.
Man i love that homelite!!! Hope to see more of it and the xl76 both!!!
Glad to hear you’re on the mend. I had a kinda serious back/neck issue last year that I’m happy to have gotten squared away nowhere’s near as bad as what you faced in the brush though years ago.
