I'm French and I didn't really understand the name of the city but I guess it's Boulogne. The Counts of Boulogne family was always more friendly towards England or HRE than their liege king of France as they wanted to be more independant

Oui, c’était Bourlogne. Moi, j’ai vraiment aimer l’alliance de Anglais et les Bourgogne.
Le seul siège de Boulogne vraiment connu est en 1544, avec les rôles inversés, Henri VIII assiégeant les troupes de François 1er pendant que ce dernier faisait la guerre dans le milanais.

The English was 10/10, even with only one Yeomen archers, he did not give up the walls in his sector at all. Up to the end, he kept it defended. Defended it to the last unit, now that's some dedication.

A Tale of Two Brothers
Two Genoese Crossbow Mercenary units come across one other on the battle field, they are from opposing sides
One of the Men of the first Unit recognizes a man from the other
"Jacopo is that you?"
"By Gods Holy left Buttock, is that you Borso?"
The rest of the men stop to witness the exchange
"It is! I haven't seen you brother in many years senesce you became a mercenary, how is it?" Yells Jacopo
"Good, Good. But it seams we are on opposing sides of this conflict." Borso says Sadly
Jacopo thinks for a monument then he yells back at Borso. "let us not fight brother. We should not as we are brothers, let us step to the side to work this out."
But before any one could move a hail of arrows falls apon Borso's unit killing Borso
Before Jacopo could react another hail of arrows strike his unite as well, killing Jacopo
To explain the Holy Left Buttock thing, I searched up Medieval curses. It said that to swear by God's body parts was popular
I mean if he didn't swear upon God's left Buttock I would have been very disappointed

They even added the Tudor rose to the English knights of late period. Gotta love those modders
I like the vids but personnally, I'd like to see battles fought on a "campaign" setting. Regular custom battles are fought too recklessely, players don't need to manage their losses and often just sacrifice units, not thinking about the next battle.
I think id be nice to have a series of battles where players Can only use units in the numbers who survived (like two sergeants depleted halfway, so you Can only use 1 unit as they would just merge). Also have a small amount of money to get some reinforcement (like 1-2 elite or 3-4 regular units)

back watching these this one was a class battle
I know you're cheeseing on the Axe Sergeants, but those Yeomen of the Guard held up and defeated two heavy infantry units that would have made a HUGE difference in the battle at the end.

i was having an heart attack during this battle, that was a battle of stress but still a good one. funny thing is that cassius was telling me "retreat man you are pushing to much" and i was like "my man need more bloooood!!"after some minutes i was like "yep man i'm retreating, i think i push to much on that flank" lol :D and i didn't thought my tier 1 axes could do all that, i went with mighty peasants ahaha

Love me some Medieval Kingdoms Total War siege battle, but its rare to see a player doing everything wrong. In this case it's Castille, his men got butchered by the arrow towers. Pixie poo back at it again with the fantastic commentating love it when you zoom the shields!!
Excellent video. Longbow men were badass! In melee and long range!
@15 minutes is such a beautiful play. Baits the attacker into the streets by leaving a section undefended only to crush them with cavalry and shock infantry. Great trap setup and great execution. Two high quality units destroyed for almost no cost. Great play.

I don't know if you noticed later but around 46 min you were talking about friendly charges, but actually it's the attacker's knight's attacking the rear of the defenders.
did you know that for a big part of the middle ages until the hundred years war England was the strongest country in western europe. It was holding about half of actual france. It was called the Angevin Empire.
that was a while about 130 years before the start of the hundred years war and they lost it very quickly after Richard died and it was the angevin union not empire
and they still were not as strong as the HRE

Hey Apollo, there is a button (in rome 2 at least, idk about other games) that puts a unit in guard mode. This makes them not chase after an opponents unit, even when they break. It is perfect for defenders, and it solves that micromanaging issue of having your men chase the enemy and thus making them easy targets for cav. Just a heads up :)

I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure that Hanseatic Infantry come from the Hanseatic League, which was a North German coalition of merchant guilds and towbs/cities. So they're German, not Norwegian.
