Keep up the fight Couz!!! Amazing how our stories sounds so much alike! Except I had bone infection instead! A lot of my cousins have it, I'm SS, but my siblings are AS! And yes you are always in pain, & I finally had to accept taking pain meds when I reached mid twenties just so I can try and live some type of a normal life! & I too have scars, but I never hid them and actually proudly tell people where they come from, because I was lucky enough to live this long, and I tgqnk God! Because a lot of cousins have lost their lives to this disease which is the most misunderstood disease!! With the aches & pains in the morning and the exhaustion, it's a struggle every day! Again I thank you for sharing your story!!!

UNIVERSITY OF Pennsylvania has become a lot better in treating sickle cell patients in the past 10yrs. I am being seen by Dr Kohut, & Peg Crowley they have been great in fighting for the sickle cell patients!! And yes Employers do treat you differently after your first 2-3 crises.
