Andrew with the GS crushed it. Green bezel sub would/should not have won. Nobody picked the Black Bay 54? Maybe not the best release, but certainly the most marketable. Admittedly, that Riviera is beautiful and wearable. Thanks gents.
I just can’t categorise the bb54 as a diver. To me it’s just well. I mean I know technically it could but just doesn’t feel right to me. I mean. I get what you mean but….naaaa

The Plumbers are back🥂. btw Breitling divers are so underrated. First and foremost about divers : must be easily readable. No Roman’s no fancy dials. And a pip or it’s not a certified diver. Good choice Adrian. GS fits the bill and looks sharp.

I hate watching anything over 10-15 minutes on TH-cam. But you guys, I can just spend hours in a day watching. The dynamics and banter between the 3 guys, the content, the editing, the soundtrack, etc. just brings so much entertainment value. Best trio ever. Credit to Marcus as well for being the unsung hero and the heartbeat of the show! Glad to see that the team is expanding. Really can’t wait for more content.
P.S. Adrian calling George’s choice boring and his face the whole time George tried to explain his selection, and when he delivered the “That’s all I want in life, for my dad to be proud of me” line and watching Andrew get all wound up were the two best moments of the whole episode. Had me in stitches!

I love the case on the GS, but that’s it. The date at 3, blob indices, the power reserve, and those very Seiko hands. All of those would be deal breakers on any watch for me so to have 4 on the same dial …

That GS dial is what I thought Omega should have been doing for the 300m - would look awesome in all the colour options.
Omega does some interesting dial work, but less in their divers, not a bad idea really.
What a ride. George teases me with a TAG then goes to a pen shop for a watch. The grand seiko meh at first glance, then Adrian teases with the Black bay and in the end goes for a baume & mercier. That watch almost won for me but consulting with George the judge finds that the number 6 is upside down. So reviewing 2nd place again....The winner is the Grand Seiko. Well done Andrew.

Can't believe I'm gonna say this...but I think the GS was the most alluring.(on screen anyway) I'm not really a fan, past or present, or admittedly know a lot about the brand, but it looks like they nailed it with the ti, the case shape, the dial, and dare I say...the bracelet. It's definitely made my "go see it in the metal" list. Great vid btw...very entertaining. Nicely done fellas.

I was OBSESSED with that Riviera for a little bit, but i hate that he mentioned the same thing i found i didn't like. Which was the Roman numerals at the 12 and 6 lol. From a technical standpoint with the 120 hour power reserve and everything else. It seems like an awesome watch. The Zulu Spirit Gmt is my new lust watch for now lol

Great Episode - Gotta agree the clasp on the GS is shocking for that price point. It looks a bit Seamasteresque to me too, but the dial is great. I’m surprised the Ti Yachtmaster didn’t get a shout, it’s as much a dive watch as some of the considerations and probs would have been my choice.
Probably because $14K is ridiculous for a run of the mill Rolex. Great watch, easily $5K overpriced but hey people will recognize what you’re wearing!
Yachtmaster is only 100meters. Does not make the cut for that reason alone.

Great entertaining content. Thank you to Adrian for always choosing watches that average people can afford or aspire to afford and it's never boring. The Grand Seiko is a clear winner even against a Panerai if it was part of the competition. On a personal note, one of the highlights of the past couple months has been to meet the watchmaker without his helmet, glad they gave him a voice for the show :). I think the name alone justifies its quartz movement and obviously it’s power source. So to me. It is so legit as a non mechanical timepiece for your collection.

Andrew you walked past Zenith, but Adrian said it doesn't necessarily need to be a pure diver. For me the Zenith defy revival would tick most of the boxes with it's 300 m water resistance.
Now that’s an interesting thought hey. 300 is def the main factor to get it in dive watch category.
Good point, I was just blinded by the whole sky theme and Pilot's Theme. Most Zenith watches are super robust, so WR comes correct, good point.

The problem with the Mont Blanc is that it came out last year. The Riviera? I want to like it, but it seems to be a bit precious to be a serious diver. The Grand Seiko? Is incredible, but while that particular model may be new this year, the case design is somewhat dated. 44mm?? OK, I've tried one on and it doesn't wear that big, but it really should be a full mill smaller and slimmer.
I know you did your best to avoid Rolex, and personally, I don't blame you and would typically not say it. But, I think I'd have to go with the titanium Yachtmaster! 😎
Ahhh but the Yachtmaster is only 100 meters water resistant. Not really dive ready.

I think the new Zenith Rainbow Pilot is too tame in comparison to the watch it references to: the truly iconic vintage Rainbow Flyback. But still great that they try to go into their heritage!
The GS wins, but only just. That clasp on a watch that price is shocking! In terms of watches I'd actually buy, it would be the Tudor Black Bay Red, I have the 2nd gen, and the 3rd gen is very cool too.

GS for the win. As a kid growing up in the late 60's and 70's I am so prejudiced against anything Japanese as that was always considered junk, no matter what it was, the way we look at products from China now. But I have to admit that spring drive is just awesome tech and all of GS dials are pure art. The finishing is incredible. I still can't wear a GS though even though I confess they are the best of the best.

You gotta climb that ladder one step at a time. eventually grabbing hold of that distinct GS ladder rung. Then you know your there.
