I think what a lot of people forget is that Rosie was born and raised in a Western culture, and this will always be part of her and her music. In fact, I think that is her comfort zone. Many of the covers that she's done over the years have been by US artists. So, K-pop fans shouldn't be surprised that her music is going to be more mainstream. Her vocals and that she can convey emotions to listeners, a rare ability, I think that she is bound for greatness. ❤

She was raised in total Korean culture and Korean language by her parents and she trained to become
a K-pop star in Korea! so where she born is irrelevant!
Never forget that without Korea and the K-pop industry, she wouldn't be where she is today!!

This was a great interview. One of the things I really like about Rosé in general is that she seems to have a good head and has a generally grateful attitude towards the world. Especially in the parts where she was asked about the training system, she would always answer without baggage. Like many Blinks, I felt bad that Rose was not given a chance to do a lot of solo ventures or collaborations despite being Blackpink’s main vocal; but I still have gratitude and appreciation for what YG has done to make the 4 ladies be who they are and what they can be, because of the decisions they made for Blackpink.

Interesting to hear how complex and intricate aspects of Rose’s life manifested in her songwriting - and the fact she’s actually one of her own primary songwriters. I'm surprised with the comments. I think I'm the only one who didn't like the interviewer. Her tone throughout the interview... to me she sounds aloof the whole time. At 32:21 she startled me, it sounds like she didn't liked Rosé's answers, like she wanted her to say something bad about the treinee programs in kpop, so she asks a second hypothetical question, she even raises her voice, interrupting Rosé, again trying to get a negative view about the system.
Yes, there were good moments, but overall, Rosé saved this, and deserves a better interviewer the next time, more than great questions, it's important to be sympathetic.

It’s just a different style of interview. It’s not a celebrity or music interview, this type of interview is about getting depth on who the person is beyond their fame & professional persona. For instance the question on rose / Rosie name choice was perceptive by the journalist that there was more to this & then it gave insight into how hard she has worked to develop rose, her professional persona, but Rosie is who she really is. And she said that it keeps happening lately that she accidentally says she is Rosie, a name she only uses personally, instead of Rose. And the reason the interviewer picked up on that is why? Why is this happening now?

From the interview, I learned that Rose is a very determined young woman, from a very young age, and at only 27 years of age, she is wise beyond her years. I also feel that Rose is a genuine, authentic person, who is kind and thoughtful to others. I wish her nothing but health and happiness, as I have no doubt that with her talent and hard work, she will become a legendary solo star, as well as member of the most successful girl group.

Thank you so much for this very intimate interview, New York Times!! We got to know more about how Rosé feels. 🥹 And to you our dear Rosé if you're ever lurking here, please know that no matter what you say or do, haters will always have something to say against you, because they don't know who you are, as we fans, don't fully know as well. So please just focus on your art and we'll do our best to support and love you. 💗 You are pretty. You are special. You are an angel. You are very relevant!! Everyone else is relating to what you've been sharing. 🥹 And you're one of the persons who has a very big heart-and we love you for that and everything else. 💗 Keep safe always.

Rosie is a true musician - who actually focuses on the music. Drop the fashion and runways and hip
moves and string pulling. Music that people actually cares about. I'm so happy u r gg solo and creating music dat follows ur heart. Your music is uniquely urs. Ur heart is one of a kind. K-pop and Bp couldn't contain u. Music that’s pleasant to listen, music that inspires. Music that’s not narcissistic. Thank u Rosie. This is just the beginning. U r going to be bigger and brighter.

I'm so happy for all the 4 girls seeing them achieving so many things and getting this big both as a sololist and as a group.... As a fan of them since 5 years I am so proud that they got this big and finally able to do what they always wanted to like seeing them from releasing 2 to 3 songs in 2 years to finally seeing them relasing their own albums and still getting so successful is crazy they proved that they are powerful with or without yg their impact is just crazy and the amount of popularity and talent each member of this group have is insane .. I just wish they continue to grow big like this and lastly as a blink i want to see all 4 of them together again after they have achieved everything as a sololist

We have to separate criticsm for her art, which very much needed in order for an artist to be better, for example it is in regards to her voice, lyrics, live performance, etc. And pure hate that basically has nothing to do with her art, for example, body shaming, false allegation, etc. The latter is the major problem in Kpop industry (maybe music industry in general). Disliking an artist because you're not into their art is okay (at the end of the day everyone has their own preference) but deliberately saying mean things and creating a false narrative just bcs you hate the person for no reason at all, is just a pure horrible behaviour.
Rosie, thank you for being so open and vulnerable in this interview. I hope you can find peace inside your head and please refrain urself from goin down the rabbit hole by reading comment on the internet, it's beyond your control after all. And keep in mind that a lot of ppl appreciate your art and don't let the small noise overcome the appreciation and love shown to you!!
Oh and can't wait for you new album!!

I really enjoyed this interview. Rose’ is always sweet, honest, and emotionally vulnerable. I do feel bad for the interviewer though. She was really hoping Rose’ would come out on how negative the industry is in Kpop. There are definitely heartbreaking stories and of neglect and even abuse but the reality of it is the entertainment industry is brutal and it doesn’t matter where you’re shooting for your dreams. I guarantee we can find those same stories right here in America. These idols choose this path in hopes of fortune and fame and the companies provide the training to attain these dreams. Unfortunately there are irreputable companies out there and trainees must choose wisely. I’m just glad Rose’, Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa were able to endure and become Blackpink. Yes, it was tough but as in any true success you go through hardships, you work hard, and hopefully persevere to realize it was all worth it.
