I don't understand the logic applied in context. If Arsenal fans believe they will win the league after the City draw, then for me they should have gone for the win. With their goal difference what's the big difference between being 2pts behind Liverpool and worst case 3pts behind if they lost. By allowing City to be only 1pt behind Arsenal, Arsenal fans are basically saying they will win all their remaining games to win the league over City, let alone Liverpool. If you say all teams will drop points then it's hard to logically say Arsenal or City will win the league. The only way to be confident of winning the league is if you proclaim your team will win all their remaining games. Arsenal were better off controlling their destiny against city by going to city to win. Being 1pt ahead of city or 2pts behind city is not that different if you ultimately believe Arsenal will win all their remaining games. Now you have to pray for Liverpool failure, as well as city failure, while you are flawless. This is not an easy task.
