    We talk about reading, our favorite books, traveling, living abroad, creativity, taxes, and much more.
    As we say at the start of the video, this was spontaneous. I hope that you find this useful and helps you improve your English. Listening to a real conversation will do that for you.

    You two guys are my favorite english professors here on TH-cam. I can't believe i missed this one "episdode". I've been kind of, staying around, waiting for another Jack's live. I feel as confident as never before, i think i could kind of, have such a good conversation because i've got some good questions; anyway...I'm looking forward to watching another one, and i think it would be great if Vanessa join us. Thanks you two, guys! :)

    Hello Jack! I've just finished watching this, and it was awesome! To be honest, I was wondering if I was going to be able to understand it all, since I haven't been practicing English at all, but I did! Vanessa has a very interesting baggage and brought good topics to the conversation. Personally, I loved it! Regarding the final question about creativity, to me it is very much like both of you said at the end: discipline and confidence are essential. I always need to push myself to do most of the things I need to do (like studying certain subjects), but only by studying is that I'll be able to gain confidence in myself (by constructing my knowledge) and then do the things that I set out to do. Being creative requires "internal resources for creation", in other words. So, when you need to do something, you'll (consciously or not) check your repertoire and try to create something new from it. So, if you want to be a good teacher, benchmark other teachers. If you want to be a good writer, read lots of books. If you want to speak like a native English speaker, listen to Vanessa and Jack. lol Of course, sometimes we draw things from "nothingness" on the spot, but we can't always rely on that. Hope you got the point! This is what I think. Cheers from Brazil! ;-)

    Hi Vanessa and Jack! The question is if we are understanding the dialogue between the two teachers! Well, I think is more difficult understand Vanessa not because she are speaking soo fast but because she start to talking in a usual speed and the song of each word is good but as she try to say some more words in long sentences, in the final sentences the words has different sounds because the sound is more weak and it may be misunderstand! I´m saying this because I saw a lot numbers of videos about Vanessa and in this videos she start and finish the sounds with the same intonation! With the same strengh voice! About Jack, is easier understand you!!! Congratulations to both teachers from Brazil! When Jack start to talk I always remember the accent of Paul and John Lennon!!! I miss The Beatles
    and everything !!! José Francisco

    There are times when the ideas come naturally, I'm doing something else, and suddenly that idea I was waiting for comes, and save my day. Routines killed, you get bored, it's not fun, but at the same time you have to have a schedule, so you can deliver in time. I'd say that a little crazyness is cool, and the unexpected is great, you get surprised, I mean you never know.

    This video lesson was awesome, I really enjoyed that. It was a new experience to listen to you both and understand but I can tell you that I could understand the most of it and guess the rest of it from the conversation. I am very happy and surprised with my improvement in English. Vanessa speaks a bit quickly for me but I will get used to it 😊 I have to train my ears to fast speech because real conversations are just like that. I cannot wait to watch your next video. 😊 Thank you very much for all your help. You are such a great and enthusiastic teacher. Have a nice weekend. Bye

    What does snobbish mean?

    • @franstef
      @franstef 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Snobbish is an adjective that means "something of a snob (pretentious) quality". Most of the time that you see a word with the '-ish' ending (it is called a 'suffix') it will mean that the adjective is something that resembles or it is somewhat like that characteristic. For example, "childish" (something somewhat like a child) or "foolish" (characteristic of a fool). But, it is not always like this, so I recommend that you do your own research on the subject! Cheers from Brazil! ;-)

    • @ЮлияСпинчевская-э4ы

    • @franstef
      @franstef 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Юлия Спинчевская It's okay. The word you're looking for is "snob". According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a snob is "someone who tends to criticize, reject, or ignore people who come from a lower social class, have less education, etc.". In other words, someone who thinks is superior in comparison to other people.
