    Stan thank you soooo much for these high quality tutorials!!! I mean seriously all this crucial information about Anatomy....it would have taken me forever to gain all this knowledge by myself!! Your teaching method and the manner in which you present all this complex information makes it much more easier to grasp. You are an Inspiration for all those Artists out there who someday hope to achieve Mastery in Art.

    This video was so informative. I don't know all that much about muscles, but this really made sense. I never quite knew the difference between a ligament and a tendon, so this was helpful! You are seriously the best anatomy teacher -- easy to understand (and with a great sense of humor).
    Wish I could afford the full course though. Maybe in the future. :)

    Hello Proko, I was wondering if you had any tips or exercises to prevent Carpal and other joint problems when drawing?
    I use a Cintiq companion and take frequent breaks, but I'm still suffering with joint pains! :(

    • @seanramsey
      @seanramsey 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dan Davies I had the same problems when I first got a tablet. I had to wear a wrist brace pretty often from the pain. I think the pain often comes in the wrist when you draw with the wrist more than with your whole arm. Using a Smudge Guard glove helped me as it made my hand slide across the tablet much easier. Perhaps that could help? Only a doctor would really know what the problem is though.

    Is there a reason people have long muscles vs short mussels? Can it affect the type of straight the individual has?

    • @PenandBlade
      @PenandBlade 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      William H as far as I understand, short muscles are better suited for quick, explosive power, while longer muscles have greater endurance (power output over time)

    • @WEH1123
      @WEH1123 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for placing an answer even-though it is a year old question.
      Your answer may make some sense as it would explain why Olympic short distance runners have more pronounced muscles while the long distance runners have more elongated muscles.
      You may correct me Fantastic Anatomy if I am wrong. In physics muscles also-most work like plastic wrap (saran wrap) as they layer on each-other adding more tensile strength. While tendons just stay as they are. Muscles terr down the more stress they endure thus losing more of it tensile strength. Short muscles seem to have the advantage of having more tendons which will not stretch as much giving the twitch faster action with less energy wasted in the rest of the muscle. But long mussels is more longer layers of muscles allowing better durability with the saran wrap effect.

    • @PenandBlade
      @PenandBlade 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, didn't look at the date! That all sounds right to my limited knowledge. Makes a lot of sense what you said about the muscle to tendon ratio.
