    This has become controversial hasn't it... Charlotte is no doubt a beautiful rider. But modern dressage has taken away alot from the sport and equine welfare. Conformation wise this horse has some challenges which attribute to being jammed up in front in an effort to get him sitting on his hocks. The environment is always going to create tension... but this isn't a harmonious looking picture. Accurate yes. But a bit uncomfortable to watch from the horses point of view. Time for a change to more classical dressage. More open frame without the need of harsh bits which restrict the horses ability to fully utilise its body.

      The so-called classical masters used even harsher bits & spurs. Look at the pictures and the old style horses have short necks jammed up and in. It was horse utopia.

      I think she does give him head a lot. He does not swish his tail and is head is rarely behind the vertical and when it is dhd seems to ask him to release with her hands. This horse is known to love his work. He is the most incredibly upright bouncing horse. Probably very difficult to sit on. There is room for all different confirmations and temperament in a horse. He is very short in the back and naturally up in the neck.

    One of the most beuatiful horses in the dressage cirucuit today, with a spectacular natural carriage. I sure wish the rider wouldn't crick him at the second vertebrae. Would love to see what this horse could do naturally.

    She is the kind of rider that every professional should emulate. She is precise in everything, even in how she uses the ring.
    She carries her own body, which enables the horse to handle theirs. She doesn't sit it the saddle like a sack of potatoes, grabbing the horses mouth, digging her seat into the spine of the horse, and she is light with the spurs.
    This horse is getting stronger all the time. His back is higher, and his hindquarters are getting more muscle.
    It took years to get here, as it should. She puts these abusive riders to shame.
    Congrats, Charlotte! You are the GOAT!!

      How can you prefer such horrible LDR ride? Everything is wrong here. Constantly behind the vertical, no hindleg, crampy back, this bullshit here has nothing to do with Classical Dressage. This sport is lost. Dujarding the Typical Modern Dressage rider. Horrible

    This is what I see from the human welfare perspective: this rider is admired, because she uses less hand force than what is today's norm (funny how bad can be perceived as good in the sea of terrible). This comes with a price though. Loosing the support of her hands, she is less stable in the saddle and combined with the vertical seat she bounces with her pelvic floor into the hard part of the saddle like a hammer. Mainly in the trot. Since the hands are not fixed by a stronghold, they move with the body back and forth. That is not her lack of education, that is a result of the modern style, which relies heavily on the riders using the reins to hold themselves in. Dressage riders are therefore prone to pelvic issues, sciatic nerv injuries, back pain, sexual dysfunctions etc.
    There is no easy fix. They need to allow posting, they need to demand light reins and abandone the vertical, wooden doll-like seat. But but.. it is so pretty, right? And those years on the loungeline perfecting it...

      What a load of piffle. Charlotte does NOT use her reigns for stability - that’s for the kindergarten riders such as yourself - I’m presuming ?

    Doesnt look natural or free flowing. Looks harsh and uncomfortable for the horse. More like a stiff regime than dressage nowadays. Bring back the old graceful way. When horse and rider worked together, not one forcing and the other forced to obey.

      What a very foolish woman. How will she rescue her career? But all that said ,how nasty of the Dutch to do this in order to sabotage team GB’s chances. They never got over 2012 when Anky Van Grunsven said that was robbed of the gold medal and Valegro only won because it was in London. She cannot talk as she used RollKur.

    • @jonjonwp
      @jonjonwp หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rohansrider She will rescue her career by regretting the incident and learning from it. It had nothing to do with the Dutch. Anky Van Grunsven would have done this a long time ago if it was her. It is even more foolish of most of the people screaming abuse when they pay for horrific animal cruelty and eat them.

      @@jonjonwp So why did it take so long to come into the public forum? It had a massive effect on her; she was team GB' s brightest medal hope.only twos day before she was all over the BBC giving interviews and being hailed as the possibility of being the greatest Olympian in terms of medals won; they were gushing all over her and then suddenly she was gone! Whoever did connive it caused the maximum amount of damage to her and took away any hope of that record.
      Whether she was behind it or not, FTR;AVG was very angry in 2012, that is a recorded fact. With regard to your comment about meat -eaters , although a worthy point - I don’t think this meme is the place. Double standards exist throughout the equine world. It’s a huge topic.
