I guess the Chocolate Frogs First Turned up in the first Harry Potter Book and Movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. I guess they have been mentioned in most ok J.K. Rowlings Books on Harry Potter.

Mike was the review TH-camr before it was cool.
For many years I've wondered why my 10-year-old-self was obsessed with this channel, and I finally have it figured out. Mike looks just like my grandfather, and through the years he's been really under the weather. I guess seeing Mike happy and healthy made me feel as if my grandfather was as well. So, cheers Mike. Even now, whilst my grandfather is nearing the end of this life, you've still left a wonderful impression of him in my mind. I can never repay you for that.

They Jelly beans are a HILARIOUS prank.. honestly, I think they're kind of brilliant in how accurate and disgusting they are.
Still baffles me how they get that "flavor" in the beans: sardine, soap, grass, vomit, even earwax (as many have mentioned). I've only survived eating a vomit bean just once. Last time I did it I was sick the entire day.

Nope, they're just plain gross-tasting. Idk how to describe it, mostly because it's been quite a while since I've tried it and because it was so unpleasant to eat. And it was hard to chew

They were trick candies. Honeydukes (and other Wizarding candy shops, I assume) sold the cockroach clusters and acid pops as a way to trick your friends- or enemies, more likely. Ron says in the books that Fred got in trouble for giving Ron an acid pop after Ron broke Fred's broom. Hermione and Ron also were shown discussing buying Harry some cockroach clusters as a souvenir from Honeydukes because they thought him stuck at Hogwarts and unable to go on the Hogsmede trip.
The blood pops were, as (again) Ron explains, made for Vampires. I assume that anyone wanting to attempt vampirism(?) for any amount of time could eat those as well.

Hey, I have had most of these candies and they were really good. The cockroach Clusters especially. The wings are just pure hard sugar, and the rest was like an apple flavored gummy. The acid pops tingle in your mouth sorta like pop rocks. And who doesn't like chocolate?! Can't wait to try all the goodies at the Universal theme park, they have all of these and more.

I actually did like the blood pops. They had a fizzy center and yes the color does last for HOURS

I had some Harry Potter Fudge Flies. Those were pretty good. It's just fudge filled chocolate molded to look like flies.
The chocolate frogs are good. They're basically like if you took a Crunch bar & molded it to look like a frog.

XD oh that's cute. My brother and I once had a berty botts guessing game with a packet that we got. We'd pick a bean and try to guess which flavor it was and then eat it to see if we were right. My brother picks bogie and he said it was spinach. I tried to correct him but he kept saying it was boogie. He spat it out and had this priceless face while crying out, "It was bogie!!"
They are meant to taste terrible, in the book "Harry Potter" Prisioner of Ahzkaban" Ron actually says sarcasticly "What about these bloods pops?" "Nah their for vampires." "Think Harry will like these cockroach clusters?" And harry comes in saying "definetly not"

Oh wow I remember the Harry Potter sweets. Chocolate frogs were amazing, as were the Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. Wish they sold new ones, as a huge Harry Potter fan. Id buy them all
These candies are admittedly vile in the books as well, so technically we can say they are NOT failures because they are accurate to the literature. The novelty of them is great, but people don't want to eat gross tasting candy here in the real world, lol. I didn't know they actually made the Blood Pops though and now I want some...

When I went there (at same time b/c it was a band trip), I bought a chocolate frog for $10... it was really big and good... the card was holographic and really cool... it was worth $10 tho

Those Chocolate Frogs are pretty good. They gave them out for free when I went to get Deathly Hallows in 2007. Also, those Blood Pops aren't too bad either. The redness doesn't last too long. I never tried the Acid Pops or the Cockroach Clusters though.

The jelly bellies were aweful too XD They really do taste the flavors that they're supposed to be. I've tried them. and when I tried the 'vomit' one and the 'earwax' one, I almost threw up.
The chocolate frogs are actually good. Just hard to open...I launched mine halfway across the mall trying to open it.:P
the blood pops were good though.. lol the chocolate frog was good but yeah way too expensive. The best snack of all though are the fudge flies...sooo good
The chocolate frogs I think are all chocolate, I'm not sure. But I think the fake blood in a blood bag is WAY better. :D

The candies are sort of "gag" candies - if they taste horrible in the books, they're meant to taste horrible in real life; it's all part of the fun! But the chocolate frogs are yummy. ^_^ They don't hop around, though. :(
