Wonderful to meet you yesterday at the show as I've said elsewhere you are all wonderful and so helpful.

Spent most of my teenage years in Ilkley, went to school in Menston. Nice to see you on my old stomping ground. Still live nearby. Nice to hear Lindsey’s northern lilt come back.

Thank you x

Thanks Lee x
The pot noodles when u have put the water in put the lid back over stays hot and makes it cook quicker👍
Hope you don't regret the swop from that 3ltr !! I did the same 2013 Autotrail Comanche to a 2021 Warwick XL I did 9000k in 12 months and have sold it.Every 100 miles 1ltr of add blue I had the superb 9 speed auto box(no complaints there) but those new Fiat engines they can keep them.Once the amber warning light comes on depending on your driving style or load you get 350 miles then it goes red. Apparently you have about 20 miles left before it wont restart, not a nice feeling.I was told 10,000 miles before amber light came on. I got 1350 miles and sometimes a lot less. Good luck guys 👍keep the channel going PS Ive bought older again LOL🤣
I always thought a yellow box meant keep clear? Keep up the entertaining vlogs.
I would have been in bits if I broke my new van, you took it on the chin very impressed.
Well… edited highlights? No, really, we firmly believe that there isn’t anything that can’t be fixed!
Love the way you tell everything as it is and don't dress things up ! Love following you both
Thank you Catherine x
Oooh I had forgotten about the Ilkley Plaice. There also used to be a good chippy on the road out of Otley

It’s not just a northern thing, we have scraps here in Norfolk and Suffolk as well!
You get scraps just about anywhere I live in the fens you can buy a bag of scraps or if you have fish&chips you can ask for lots of scrips free
Just not Milton Keynes then 🤣🤣
Loved the vlog that would have been my luck with the bridge bottoming out so jealous of your motorhome safe onward journey guys Kenny x

Thanks Jamie, Ilkley is lovely x
Lovely to see our local town of Ilkley whilst we are on a month's tour of Scotland in our caravan.
Ahh glad you’ve enjoyed it Val x
I can sympathise with you over fuel prices. I have just filled my Defender and it was over £150! One plus though…..no fuel shortages. Great to see the touring videos making an appearance.
Guy.
Yikes!!
Really enjoyed that video. Thank-you.
Thank you x
Have you been to the Weatherspoons in Exeter called the Imperial? My favourite. I want t return to Exeter just to go back to that pub. If you haven't been check out the pictures on the internet - incredible.
Oooh I have a cousin in Exeter, I’ll maybe suggest a visit to spoons next time we visit her.
Got to love scraps, adding Peak District to our list to visit.
Excellent x

All sorted, but it did get a even more dramatic!
The fish and chips looked amazing. We both know scraps its a northern thing lol. Getting LPG is a nightmare everywhere, We have not a diesel shortage here. Hope you manage to remove or sort the water empty pipe.

In Italy had Gray waste pipe discontent from the tank in a motorway tunnel by HGV mudguard on road. Enjoyed the Video for the Park-ups.
Yikes!!! Thank you x
Great vlog as usual glad yo wasn't burgled nothing worse than driving home to a alarm good luck with the van and gas
Thanks Phil x
I hit a old tyre on the road between Germany and Poland and did same to my van I always pack some string , my water bracket was dragging along the road with sparks so under the van I went with my string
Yikes, but great idea!
Nice to see you guys getting out in the van, bet the neighbors loved the ring alarm going off for hours.🤣
Thank you!
oh wow . brill video. nice to see your meet ups and escapades lol .as for scraps . us down south call them batter bits .always had bag as a kid👌. ouch bottoming out is not good😢 . but yorkshire is a beautiful county. glad was all ok when you got home 👍.so keep your adventures coming . cheers 🍷
Cheers Sallie xx
Hope you get lpg fitted soon. ALGAS in Thirsk do the lighter gas bottles. Must be mindful of the weight with a those batteries you are fitting.
Thanks for the tip Will x
Just started following you going through your videos and love watching them love your new camper van really nice like the bed that comes down they have come along way cabinets are so much nicer anyway look forward to seeing more videos take care guys
Welcome Along Kenny!!!
Thank you so much for commenting!
My mouth was watering seeing you eating your fish and 🍟 chips. I'm a Celiac, so I can't eat fish and chips from a chip shop as the batter is made from wheat flour and the curry sauce. 😋 I live in the Midlands, but my family are from Yorkshire. My late Mother was from Keighley. We use to holiday in a lovely area called Ingleton. Those were the days. Love to you both ❤
Thank you Jayne x
I noticed they seemed to have the English stockpile of calor gas bottles at the Showground this weekend so I hope you got sorted in the end.
We did get sorted there!! It was brilliant!
Lister as in Listers Mill in Bradford I imagine and probably yes the same Lister from Gentleman Jack.
I think so too!
Why Swift decided to fit the drain valve there I just can’t understand. It in a really badly designed position right in the middle of the wheelbase so when you go over the slightest hump it’s hits the ground. Our van is an 8 metre Bessacarr so like yours it’s got quite a long wheel base, consequently once the wheels at one end go over any undulation in the ground the belly of the van is very low down, and the water valve is the lowest point. I’ve knocked ours of twice, and both times it was going over a very small hump. Rob and Lyn on tour have knocked theirs off as well.
To stop me knocking it off again I’ve moved the valve, it’s now temporarily fixed to the chassis as far back as I could get it (limited by the length of available wire) I got some 28mm pipe and some elbow fittings, so now the drain comes out of the tank goes to the off side as before but now turns 90deg runs down the inside of the chassis to the valve. From the valve it continues down the inside of the chassis towards the waste drain pipe then turns through 90deg and comes out next to the waste pipe. At the moment everything is held on by cable ties, I’ve yet to make a couple of proper brackets and get the pipe runs levelled out a bit better to drain the water fully. What I might do is extend the cable for the valve and position it next to the waste water valve behind the rear wheel so then there’s no way it can ground out.
Wow, you’ve worked hard on your fix!!!
That was certainly an eventful trip! Glad you hadn’t been burgled - although it was a shame you couldn’t deactivate the alarm remotely. I have had to google ilkley moor bar ‘tat for my husband as he’s never heard of it before (where’s he been!?!) 🤪
🤣🤣🤣
What a great video! Just come across you channel and now i shall subscribe😄 xx
Welcome along Dawn xxx
Very enjoyable, so jealous of your amazing motor home. X ❤
Aww thank you x
Great video.. why don’t you get a Safefill refillable gas bottle. Especially if your doing a lot of off grid. Will be cheaper. Morrisons allow to refill . Cheers
That’s the idea Andrew, we’re just using a spare Calor bottle I had lying around for now, we’ll probably be getting an under slung refillable tank, there’s just so many upgrades to do!
Excuse Me, as a southerner I was brought up on Scraps, How very dare you. Great blogs guys.
🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic video 📹 you have just got a new subscriber to you channel..quick question please on your broken dump valve does it have a make or model number as I would like to add one to our van to make it easier instead off getting on our knees to open a hand valve...thanks justin & carol
Hi guys, and welcome along. I’ve just had a look for you and there’s no part number on there I’m afraid. Also as it’s electronically controlled it would need wiring run and a way to trigger it, although ours just works through the control panel.
@@RoamingRadfords thank you..
I love your motorhome
Thank you x
You are very welcome x
Good 1st ‘adventure’ in the new van 😳
Can’t beat scraps on fish and chips 👍💙❤️
Thanks!
Hi guys
Just come back from castleton now
Put TH-cam on and Carnt believe yous we’re there 😂😂
I Carnt recommend more the ye olde nags head for food everyone!!!!
I was wondering for a bit of advice guys.
I have a trauma comfort and doing of grid nearly completely.
I was wondering if you know what jackery I should get to power that most probably a night and then I would recharge.
Also to be able to run microwave now and again.
Your advice would be helpful pleaseeeeee
Anthony and Claire
You’ve exhausted me…currently sitting on the drive in my MH which is nearly bouncing all over the place owing to continuing high winds here in Somerset!!
🤣🤣🤣
I live in America and I've never heard of a manual rv in this country. We must have them but I don't thinks it's very popular in America. Love the channel!
Thanks Anthony x
You can get scraps down south just need to ask . Crackling
Hello I am new to your channel like your new motor home I love ilkley the tarn is nice to walk round and you were not far from there when you were at the maze Betty's cafe is nice as well for cakes but expensive but really nice liked your channel
Welcome along Sally!
If you go to Andy’s Chippy in Bedford you can get scraps there! (At least you used to be able to!)
Ohhh great tip!
@@RoamingRadfords no problem! We used to always get them from there but as Mrs R commented they are soooo greasy lol.
Does the alarm not have a time reset , I thought they all had them now.
It wasn’t an alarm in the end, the camera had a faulty “buzz”.
can I suggest looking into an lpg underslung gas tank conversion as an option to save on calor woes, easy refill at any fuel station that has a pump for gas cars. Also cheaper in long run even with the initial outlay.
That is our plan, we’ve had it in previous vans and it’s been well worth the investment.
@@RoamingRadfords i only suggested because there's nothing worse than searching for calor 1 day into a trip because you forgot to check (not that I'd ever do that a day into a 10 day trip abroad, honest)
Hi guys ,how did the water pipe get ripped of ? You know wear I live (the fens ) you can buy a bag of scraps or you can get them free with fish&chips ,looks like you are all having a great time ,I love the unicycle what fun that is but I wold not be able to stand on it with one leg lol 😂 I would brake my neck lol ,I bet it was nice seeing your Grammar how nice for her as well ,gas is so hard to get anywhere what a joke, enjoyed this blog so much ,hope you have not been Robbed well till next time take care keep yourself safe 💕😂☀️👀🥂🥂🙏🚛🚛
Thanks John, it was ripped off on a tiny mound in the road x
If a new RV van , wheels spin out . There a bigger problem. 1 you may have to much weight in the van. 2 you have the wrong tires on for the van. Many RV sellers will out the cheapest tires on when you buy. Because they know you'll be back.
3. You have packed the van wrong. To much weight not balanced. 4. Your trying to carry to much water with you. If you drain the tanks to just what you might need. You'll save of fuel, and the van will be lighter. Fill the water back up when you hook up.
You weren't burgled, thank goodness!
Phew!
There is a carpark outside Skipton which might be easier...
Will look out for it in the future!
I’m a southerner and we call your scraps - Scrumps 😃 Yummy 😋
Yummy!
In Wiltshire scraps are definitely a naughty but nice😍
They are naughty but nice everywhere 🤣🤣
wow
We have just had the exact same think happen on our new Kontiki 794. This is clearly a design fault as the bracket is far too long. Water it now gushing out and we can’t fill it up. Did you find a fix for yours?
Hi Philip. We are working with Swift to try and get a fix for this. In the meantime I have just temporarily bunged ours up so it will hold water
@@RoamingRadfords Lowdhams have fixed the water leaking and secured the bracket, however I still think the bracket is too long and the problem will soon return the next time we go over a small hump back bridge; please let me know if you work out a long term solution with Swift. Other than this small issue the MH is lovely and we agree with you, the cab is wonderful.
@@RoamingRadfords Hi Steve, did you ever get a fix fir this from Swift? Despite my best attempts I have heard nothing.
Hi Phillip, I believe they are planning to amend where this is fitted on some models going forward. We still just have ours bunged up but are hoping to get it sorted soon even if we have to do it ourselves
@@RoamingRadfords Thanks Steve. We panic at every humped back bridge sign, I’d happily pay for a fix. I know you have strongly backed Swift but I’m afraid to say, it’s shocking that they haven’t sorted this.
Hi Guys. Top video as usual thank you. SCRAPS! You triggered a memory there. When I was a lad back in early seventies I used to keep my dinner money for 'other things' than a healthy dinner, and get '2p' bag of scraps from the local chippie in Lowestoft! Yummy. The question is, am I a Northerner or a Southerner? My Mum came from Keithley in Yorkshire, my Dad from London, and I grew up in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Take care, and enjoy.
Only you can decide where your heart truly lies 🤣🤣🤣
Fish, chips, peas and scrolls in Cornwall. Lol. Looked Yummy though.
Scrolls!!! Woah x
You guys are amazing keep up the good work 👍
Thank you Omar x
I absolutely love this channel ❤️ and hearing mrs radfords accent change back to local was fab 10:51 😂 and our George is so lovely and such a clever young man ❤️
Aww thank you x
We've had scraps in the black country scents I was a kid 😁
Mmmm Gary x
I forgot to mention that you can avoid grounding out your vehicle if you have air suspension fitted(albeit very expensive)…you can raise it higher whilst driving or when stationery to avoid situations like that. John & tash (life beyond brick’s) have the same suspension fitted. It’s also excellent for levelling the van as long as it’s not ridiculously sloped
Hi Steve & Lindsey, once again a great video. Me & the mrs really enjoy following you guy’s on your adventure’s. What is really good to see is when you get together with other TH-camrs (who we also follow)……great to see you all get on. It was great to see you at the Peterborough show last week(managed to say a quick hello after your talk with John on the Sunday morning-cat in the stroller couple haha ). Can I ask if your business has ever fully wrapped a motorhome?
Cheers, Joe
Thank you so much! We tend to focus on commercial vehicles, but feel free to talk to the team to see how we can help. X
@@RoamingRadfords thank you 🙏 we will do that
I am focusing mostly on the food! 🤤
Thanks bestie x
Hi pleasd czn you tell me what was the name of the car park you stayed in overnight that was near the maze. It looked fun
Yes, it was the Darwin Garden!
What a loverly polite son you have our sone was the same at that age but now he’s in his 20s he’s little shit now 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Oh 🤬, the first scratch to the new motorhome hurts! The long wheel base and the rear overhang are concerns in tight places.
We just have to go carefully xx
Bits in Yorkshire
Hi your house alarm the external sounder should not ring for more than twenty minutes the internal sounders can continue to ring. This is actually law and it also applies to cars and van alarms
It wasn’t an alarm in the end, it was a fault on the ring camera! All fixed now though x
What sat nav is built in?
The built in nav on the head unit uses TomTom, but it also has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay so you can just use your phone with navigation apps
@@RoamingRadfords thanks for the reply - I have apple car play but Google maps doesn’t have anything to put vehicle sizes - I was wondering if you have a motorhome specific Tom Tom - I think the Tom Tom for lorries is cheaper than the camper Tom Tom - everything for motorhome use is expensive 🧐
How are you finding the comfort levels compared to the 649?
Love it, especially during the day!
Did you find gas in the end? Next time try getting gas from a local handyman instead of petrol stations. Our local handyman had no gas but said he's waiting for a delivery the next day, we left our empty bottle with him as a deposit and collected the new one the next day.
The problem was that it was 4.30 on Sunday and only petrol stations were only!
Great video, always love watching you, have you still got gas bottles or had a tank put in?
We still have the 1 gas bottle and I’m hoping to get refillable fitted soon Gillian
Good to see you out and about using the new van. Steve if it’s any consolation in all my years of owning a motorhome the only place I’ve struggled with the roads was Yorkshire about two months ago heading to the Will o nats pub some narrow lanes and steep inclines round that way. I fitted rear air to give an extra bit off lift been invaluable the extra lift comes in handy especially for getting on and off ferries. And I’m with young George you canny beat building dens.👍
Thank you Wully xx
I'm not sure if it has been said before... but you sound incredibly similar to Nick Knowles
Oh, no we’ve not heard that before!
@@RoamingRadfords Great videos. Really informative & easy to watch. 👍🏻
Hi . Good park ups are becoming a rarity. TH-camrs highlight them and soon the public complain followed by the local council with new signage . For example Sagres in Portugal. Try wild camping there now compared to a few years ago . Please help us all out and keep these places to yourselves. Park for night is having the same negative affect. Vince
Is the gas and diesel shortage affecting all of Britain?
Yes! It is 😞
@@RoamingRadfords is this a brexit issue?
Love the video but a 2 litre engine??????in that size of van.
It’s a 2.2 180bhp engine Jon and I’ve done over 1000 miles in it now and I’m adjusting my driving style to suit and it’s working well
