This was a great vid thanks I'm just confused @3:25 the screen says (after disconnecting the PCM) "that if the voltage returns to battery volts, there is a short to ground in the circuit." But your narration says " if the voltage remains low, theres a short in the circuit." I may be misunderstanding but could I get some clarification?
Hi nice videos why don't you make a DVD and all the ways you can use a power probe four and sell it, I'd buy it for sure I know others would.if we wait for the power probe company to make up a video would be waiting a long time it looks like.see if you can get them to pay you to do it you're a pro at it
I know this is seven yrs ago but what if you have 4 wires a power source a common a junction wire and pcm wire which do I send power to to look for current drop
But the driver test is specifically to act like a solenoid or actuator. Use the MinnMax voltage to look for voltage drops in. Don’t be sending power from the power probe into a computer circuit unless you have the five adapter. Sending the 12 V power into the signal circuit can blow the computer. Voters Rob is much better than sending power in sick with a fast glitch came true. I’m so forward to a good job of detecting bone drops.
@@joshvalera2526 the drivers test is to see if the computer we can control solenoid, or actuator. You just cento to say turn on a relay well it really is a koala wire usually supplied with battery voltage of one side and ground and the other when you plug the driver test and you can see if it’s going to battery voltage was turned off with your shirt. If it drops to low-voltage wanna computer turns it on what your testing is the driver circuit in the computer. Communications is a bigger issue than just one test on one driver. I hope that answers your question.
@willispeek3846 just read the manual and it's pretty straightforward correct me if I'm wrong you find the pcm ground wire from harness put power probe 4 in drv test and see if the pcm is communicating?
The tester now act like the solenoid or actuator. Voltage will be battery voltage when the solenoid is off and will drop two near ground voltage is on. So what’s you’re doing? Is your watching the actual driver actions but instead of using solenoid or sensor you’re using the tester.

The driver was shorted that was removed when thew ECM was disconnected. I am sorry I did not make that clear

Can power probe 4 do a hot shot test like the hook?
