Hey Dan! I just got the Moebius 1/72 Skipjack from eBay, really excited to build , I'm gonna put SSN 589 decals on it as it comes with either USS shark or USS scorpion, I'm really gonna try and do a weathering paint on the hull like the 1 you built !! Take care
dim tim Thanks I have played around with gas torpedo's they are very unpredictable and messy as well the price of propellant makes it not cheap to operate. Dan
this looks interesting- i have reviewed a few small scale torpedoes incl the compressed gas option. So to understand the torpedo has a capacitor which is charged 10 seconds prior to release which runs a small motor and prop....I am guessing the charge is prior so you do not have to switch the motor on and find a way to stop the prop? - could you use a reed switch , but i guess this will also need and ejection option? if you could please share the capacitor/motor and charing info/details that would be great - i dont have a lot of room in the sub but it would be a great addition
itolond That is how this system works in 1/72 scale which is 4 in in length weight for this size is the problem needs to be boyant to float after the charge ,idealy it would be nice to precharge the torp then placing into the tube before sailing then launching using a reed switch so this is why I charge onboard before firing. Cheers
@@coast219 Greg Sharpe from Deep See Designs had a great plans for this system unfortunately many years ago he folded his company, however dig around the net you might find info on this ,I don't have a plan for you , it's a easy system to do and alott cheaper. Cheers DK
@@coast219 Yes I did a type V11 C years back for a customer in Japan using that method and it worked awesome just a note on the type V11 in 1/48 scale the model should be split at the waterline for easy accessibility
Hello The driving out Periscope is a great thing, you can make to me a coarse drawing or a video like it exactly functioned with the Servo, it has not exactly understood and how it looks in the tower. If it liked to make with mine and boat also so or you have left for me like it funktioniertß, many thanks
I love how clear the water is from above
That torp is just so cool!
Dan, you are amazing as always! Thanks for the videos.
Awesome video and great engineering, Dan!
RCSubGuy Thanks Bob it would cool if I could make the torpedoes in 1/96 scale . Dan
Amazing its the koolest thing ive ever seen on a model sub
*coolest
Nice explanation & information!! THX!! ;-)
nice work
Great vid ! Thank you

Match final bearings and SHOOT! Your a Master in the craft Dan!! Keep on showing us how it's done!! "Sub" Ed
SUBCOMLI Ed I don't know about the master part but thanks for the compliment , and I will do some more videos when I can . Dan
beautiful!
Misha Lobanov Thanks
brilliant, nice to see a battery powered trop instead of gas. love to have them on my tyhoon but always been put off due to the gas

great video...

Favorite sub 💯 always
Awesome!!!!
👍👍👍
Wondering if you've given thought to building a Columbia class SSBN, interesting to see what its going to look like
VERY cool
Thanks
Wonderful model mate, I reckon you should add one more torpedo on the left side :)
Peter Menzel Thanks Peter I might put another tube on the port side. Cheers
good job ;)
andreavcc Thanks
Hello, I am trying to build a Los Angles Class from scratch, how does the top come off and keep out the water? It would really help me out.
Will you do a how to on making a functional torpedo system?
ÓTIMO SISTEMA D TORPEDO, BRASIL OK.
Thank you very much
cool, how do you manage the housing of the torpedo so it doesn't cause a leak?

sounds good What capacitor / motor / charger did you use? also whats the run time ?
wow
dope
How the torpedo goes forward ? By electric motor?
Great
👍
Wouldn't the water get in the hole where the torpedo shoots from and then damage it?
The Ferret Dynasty No the water doesn't interfere with the system
can the torpedoes explode on impact
Interesting water tight compartments. Has anyone used this method with the Moebius 1/72 Skipjack?
Yes this method is rarely used mostly because of the WTC
@@undersee604 is there a link or site where I can see more about the layout of your semi dry compartment?

How much was the sub?
Good video...request please share electric torpedo made..thank you

Plz teech me how to build that torpedo
where can I find your same model to buy?
You can buy a similar model made by Moebius models, a plastic kit in 1/72 scale (same scale as mine ) .
@@undersee604 ok, but where to buy ?
@@achilleaxel3800 you can buy the submarine kit online or a hobby shop, however not the torpedo that is made from scratch. Good luck
i have a challenge for you, ad a passive and active sonar :P
Yes working on it 👍
What is price ?
do you building it or buying and where to buy them
drunk thoughts but maybe add some weight if you can to make them come out and not go straight to the surface of the water
That is true however the torp will sink at the end of the charge, this torpedo is very small 1/72 scale .
@@undersee604 didn't think of that
Scorpion anyone? ssn 589 rip
