Hi Jan & Mark, Dubuque, Iowa native here. So nice to see the Hawkeye state in all it's glory. When RAGBRAI came through Ames about 5 years ago, I was in Ames visiting my employer's pasta production plant. My coworkers & I took a 30 minute break from our meeting to go outside and watch some of the bikers go by. It was quite a sight. Iowa is certainly not flat, especially once you get about 20 miles from Dubuque. Now that both of my parents are gone, I no longer get to Iowa very often, but Iowa will always have a place in my heart.
I just looked online...the last time RAGBRAI ended in Dubuque was 2010. It has ended in Davenport 4 times since 2010. Dubuque is definitely overdue to be the final RAGBRAI stop in 2024.
Jan - My wife and I always enjoy your videos and are looking forward to moving there. I am also from Iowa (Southwest) and did Ragbrai for the first time this year - we are in KCMO now. I actually have a video of our shenanigans, but it was a great ride. Thanks for the time and effort you put into your videos - the information is very helpful.
Enjoyed RAGBRAI in 2017 - what a great experience ! Scheduled to do again in 2024. Enjoy your informative videos. This time next year should be making a decision on our next home. The Villages is definitely at top of list. Keep up good work and getting the most from life.
Hi Jan, long time viewer . Wondering where people sleep at night .. are there tents or do people lodge in hotels and also wondering if e -bikes are allowed?
We saw a few e bikes. Most people tent - overnight towns sometimes has people let you set up tent in their yard - take a shower - We slept in beds each night because our daughter took us to the start and picked us up each night. Ragbrai hauls your tents and clothes if you have a ticket (tag). Overnight parking is usually in a park or close to a school for showering/toilet facilities.

Thanks for watching Laura!
Laura. It was the 50th Anniversary of Ragbrai so the route was the very first route!
