  • Welcome back to another video, it's been sometime since I have uploaded. Getting out during Lockdown 6 for a Bream fishing session on Sanctuary Lakes in Melbourne's outer west. I have a first look at the new Daiwa Reverly FC MQ reel just announced and coming later this year. Catching fish on Bait Junkie soft plastic lures out of my trusty Hobie. I hope you enjoy the episode and as always thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the video Dale. That weed in Scantuary Lakes drives me crazy. But I have been using hard bodies. Might try a light jig head instead now. Do you find a single hook soft plastic makes a big difference with the weed? Also have you caught any other species in this lake? All I have got was bream and mullet. EP's would be nice.

    • @Dalebaxter
      @Dalebaxter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, yeah just bream and Mullet. And the plastic is a heap better way to avoid most of the weed, not always though. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

    going to have to give it a try myself pity im landbased but hopefully can get a few

    • @ringboypunk
      @ringboypunk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Landbased is hard as it gets pretty hammered by bait fishos. But at night around the bridges works well. :)

      @Dalebaxter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Stephen, yeah just keep persisting mate and look for the less weedy areas to cast into

      Thanks Michael, I have 2 x different pairs at the moment, the ones in the video are Kiano Coast with Blue Hawaii lens, also have a pair of Southern Cross, both super comfortable and great clarity. cheers for watching.

    What rod you using there champ

    • @Dalebaxter
      @Dalebaxter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Buddy, its the Infeet EX 752ULFS-ST, probably my favourite rod for lightly weighted plastics.

  • @ringboypunk

    Did not know you were based out west :p
    Great vid, i have not had a touch on a bait junkie yet, but slim swims work great as well as small creature bait plastics. Im keen to try some topwater in there, have you had a crack at this?

    • @Dalebaxter
      @Dalebaxter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Scott, yeah a westy mate haha. Still prefer to fish the Nong though. Top water will work at certain times, weed will be the biggest problem. Try the minnows on either a 1/20th or 1/16th. Cheers

    • @ringboypunk
      @ringboypunk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers for that. Yeah, that bloody weed gets thicker every year.

      Yeh bent minnows and little top water flys work well for me during the warmer months down at the lake
