Drown In My Own Tears - Ray Charles With Cliff Hugo on bass who spent 4 years playing for Ray in the 70’s Mikey Lee Cannon in Drums At the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn August 28th 2021
I found it oddly amusing that I listened to every cover of this song, trying to capture the vibe you all were portraying. Despite my efforts, I couldn’t quite find it. So, well done-really well done!
I’ve been trying to learn this song on guitar and Jeff Beck’s Jool Holland video and this one have been my go to TH-cam videos for stealing great guitar licks 😂 great feel in the solo
Excellent, as expected. Can’t imagine how this was recorded, but a very decent sound for a live show. Too bad about the sound of the kick. Somebody please invent a system whereby the drummer can throw a switch to change the acoustic kick sound from a rock sound the the sound desirable for blues, jazz, Latin, etc. etc. The playing of the kick on this recording is on the money, the sound of it sucks.
Great singing and playing!
Enjoyed that guys - all round excellent.

Is that a 'Trouble Maker' Telecaster? With the tune-o-matic bridge, PAFs and the 24.75 scale length? Looks beautiful btw and tou play it very well.
Hi! It’s a parts-caster i put together. Fender scale length and 60’s style humbuckers made by Sheptone
Thanks for the reply. All the best from the UK.
