***PLEASE take note that the first ingredient is "RICE FLOUR", not glutinous rice flour. My apology for the mistake!
Makes 10 rolls
Ingredients:
[Rice rolls]
110g rice flour
20g wheat starch*
10g corn starch
400g water
2 tsp vegetable oil
A generous pinch of salt
[Sweet sauce]
2 tbsp soy bean paste/taucu
2 tbsp organic cane sugar
1 tbsp flour
1 1/2 cup water
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
Useful tips:
Wheat starch is what gives your chee cheong fun a almost translucent look. I prefer to add it nicer appearance ;)
Stainless steel plate is recommended. I have tried ceramic and baking tray lined with parchment paper, but stainless steel plate works the best so far. Just make sure to oil the plate before use.
Do not roll the cheong fun right away in the plate. That way you will end up with rough-looking cheong fun. Always peel it off from the plate and flip it over like the video demo.
Hope you enjoy the recipe. Remember to like and share ;)

Thank you so much for the attention to detail ! This Malaysian in india is missing CCf so much I’m going to make this for weekend breakfast !! 💕
You're most welcome 🤗 I hope you like this recipe ❣️
Chee Cheong Fun is my childhood favourite! Can't believe it is so easy to make at home.

No Gan, but it likes really good and I’m going to try it. Thank you, I’m watching from Australia 🇦🇺
Hi there, some of you commented that the recipe should use rice flour instead of glutinous rice flour.
I would like to apologise for my mistake. I have mistaken 粘米粉 as glutinous rice flour, but it is actually rice flour. I have edited the ingredients list. So sorry for my silly mistake, I will take extra caution for my future recipe.
Yes dear will do exactly what you say. Thanks alot for all ur useful valuable tips , will keep u posted when I attempt it.
@@mytummywhispers9739 Thank you! Happy cooking!
Thanks for the recipe. Just tried it and it was delicious!
Glad to hear that ☺
Yum! This recipe definitely looks like a labor of love, with all the washing the plates between steaming each one. Would make a special occasion a breakfast here!
Thanks for watching Honey! You're right, making traditional food from scratch is always lots of work but definitely worth the effort!
Let me know if you ever made it haha!
Thank you Gan for this recipe , Ii’ll adjust it to Gluten Free. I’ll take out the wheat flour, and use corn flour instead ,and adjust the sauce to G F . I should come out fine. Cheers, from Australia 🇦🇺
My fav food. TQ for sharing the recipe. Looks like easy to make this food.👍😋
My pleasure 😊
Hi Gan, you mentioned the smooth side facing down when rolling. Is this smooth side the side facing up while it was steaming on the plate?
Hi 👋 That's correct 💯
Hi Chef. Is this the same rice noodle that we eat with Yong Tau Foo? Sometimes i buy Yong Tau Foo, they add in "white noodles" and i love it so much. I would love to make it myself but i don't know the name to google for the recipe. If this rice noodles is the same, then i can just use this recipe. Thank You in advance Chef. 🌹

终于遇见了你!
Is this the same with teokbokki
Hi thanks for the question. No, it doesn't taste like teokbokki. Cheong fun is a lot softer and less chewy than teokbokki.
Hi, may i know it is rice flour or glutinous rice flour?
Glutinous rice flour. The full ingredient list is in the description box ya 😉
@@GanGoodLife i did look at it. But because your fan commented it was sticky. I have made it using rice flour. It was good. The sauce was yum! Thank you! 😉
@@karenchloe. oh I see, how was the texture? Thanks for letting me know!
@@GanGoodLife the texture was smooth. 😊
@@karenchloe. Glad to know that! Thanks for making this recipe ;)
Should it be rice flour or glutinous rice flour?
Hi, it's glutinous rice flour. This is the brand I used. images.app.goo.gl/FWsc6f3aPAmNBU2n9
But, one of my viewers said she uses rice flour and it turned out well.
@@GanGoodLife Thank you 🙏
For the sauce, what kind of flour?
Hi, it's all purpose flour
I have try making it by using your recipe but it never turn out nicely.
Sorry to hear that. Can you tell me what are the steps/ingredients that you used? How about the equipment? Maybe I can help you from there.
What did you mean it never turn out nicely? Any specific problem (texture, taste etc)? Thank you.
@@GanGoodLife the texture. It was very soft and stick to my hand as well. I follow same ingredients u gave and the method on how to do it. I really want to do as it's my favourite Chinese breakfast.
@@preetz9084 I see. It sounds like it is undercooked.
There could be a few possible problems so maybe these solutions could help:
- Brush the pan with oil before you pour the batter to prevent it sticking to the pan.
- I recommended stainless steel plate for this recipe because it is the easiest for the batter to be cooked through and be peeled off.
- Make sure the water is boiling and hot enough to steam the batter so that it is cooked through (should take 3 minutes). Cover the lid.
- After it is cooked, make sure to cool it down before peeling.
- Make sure to not use too much batter at one go. Thicker roll can be harder to be cooked through hence become sticky.
This is a pretty tricky recipe. It takes some practice to get it right. Hope these tips are helpful for you. Let me know how it goes if you made it again.
@@preetz9084 Hi there, I tried this recipe again the other day and it turned out soft and sticky when I used the old (already open for a few months) glutinous rice flour. When I used the newly bought one it turned out perfect. Maybe you can check your flour. Hope it helps ;)
😘
may i share your recipe
Yes sure. Just credit me 😊
@@GanGoodLife thanks you
Now i know what to have for breakfast tomorrow
Save some for me please
You dont use glutinious rice flour and you dont wait til.its cooled to roll
