200 Player servers might have been tested recently on the Public Test branch for Path of Titans, or was it? The developers have been testing new optimised servers and in one of the tests they explained that they want a minimum of 100 players on the server, with the servers exceeding that 100 player cap the game currently has.

Path of Titans is an upcoming MMO RPG Dinosaur survival game, created by Alderon Games. The game has been in production for just over a year and is already looking set to become one of the most successful dinosaur games of all time.
Path of Titans is set to enter early access in September 2020 and has already racked up over $300,000 from crowdfunding. It has an extremely dedicated community and a dedicated team of developers who are providing huge amounts of content for us.

@@sneakyzzkkk2778200 players serves exactly for people not to concentrate in one place, but the go through all the map because there will be people everywhere instead of just in hotspots
I think if we have 200 player servers, people need an incentive to spread out across the map or there’s going to be a major lag problem considering everybody goes to grand Plains

That's where the quest rework will come into play. If that's still an issue, I could maybe see them rework the map to remove crater and make it part of GP/WC
@@STX_HyperionI think removing the water in crater would solve the problem. Or make it undrinkable and remove every quest there. So ppl actually spread out. Good thinking tho
200 players would be very fun and make the game feel so much less lonely

The latest testing (from last night) was excellent! It got up to 202 players (2 being devs) and was still smooth as silk. They also tested different aspects, from heavy combat to chat spam. There were some issues, including abilities not working (calls in particular) and birchwoods wasn't loading a couple of its tiles. All in all however, it was an excellent session.
200 players should be scattered all over the map not in 1 specific area also they should add Brachiosaurus, and Titanaboa snake would be awesome .

If you play on good realism servers then this will happen. I cant stand officials and unrealistic servers
Yeah so let’s get rid of crater and change go a bit. Make it less of a hotspot but still enjoyable to adventure through there.
For myself , I love playing solo where I travel throughout the map , I stay for a bit and then move on but rarely see other dinos in the desert, dark woods , down by the ocean etc .

what would really help spread players out would be a kind of game mechanic that includes a habitat preference + granting the player a buff to their damage via environment.

On the one hand it’s a great plan but there only one problem I see crater is gonna be over run with all 200 people in and lag will be real badly

Brother fr I be wanting the 200 player servers too man!like the maps are literally empty af!when they do come I swear I better see more people in the oceans and across the whole map overall!not just in HT,IC,GP or in GV those are like the places where people will only go to like spread just spread pls lol there are other places!!!
They need a system where water sources like crater can’t be replenished while there is a certain amount of players in the area to help the problem of people just all sitting in one location. Also they need to liven up areas on the maps to where it makes people want to explore different locations so most of the map won’t just be uninhabited. 100 extra players should make encounters a lot more frequent if they makes changes like these.
I do think removing the replenish quest from craters water would help, or even remove the water there in general... as unfortunate as it seems, need to find ways to move people around
@@VelocciYTi dont think people want to move around. I been playing for years and it seems like every time they change something at a hotspot, everyone moves to a new hotspot. For some reason people get on the game to sit there lol, its always been that way.
@@xquisite1989 Yea I understand that because I’ve seen it for years too, but brainstorming to find solutions can always help even if it takes awhile to solve the problem
@@VelocciYT Yea I’ve thought of other ways to help player populations move around like having 2 or 3 locations at once have a growth tic percent boost at certain water and food areas on the map for herbis and if the herbis are killed by a car I player the growth boost transfers over to them. But the amount of carni player to herbi players is a big gap so I don’t think this idea would work either
I was in the 200 player stress test server and the way it lagged less than in a server with 100 people is crazy!
They need this in official server 🙏🏽😭feels like 70% of players only stay at crater

I would love 200 players because it will be a lot easier to find other people and it will also feel more natural finding people instead of having to go to hotspots to find people

@fishes002 it could bring cute baby dinos😊. it could bring more people to intract. It's new for people to do. And it can add immersion.
With this 200 hundred player update that will soon release I’d think the map would get bigger we already know about the place they showed with the new foliage if it’s a new part of the map. I’d expect it to get bigger so there are more areas to spread out in the map if not we will be seeing more Dino’s way more often
personally i think its better to keep the map at its current size, more so encourage people to move around more instead

They have been very hard at work and I appreciate all they've been doing but they need to get the servers in tip top shape first before pushing a 200 player base, still very laggy in certain areas, laggy when it's a crowded area, lagging during fighting

I love the fact that I took part in their 200 player server test yet, didn't get a bug tracker. I swear they pick BT favorites.
this would be good for specific realism or semi-realism servers to make the map actually feel alive because we all know, many severs will have the so called hotspots were evryone goes to see others... maybe not even pvp just... to hang around and see some players cuz, yeah sometimes your on a full server and you dont see no one.
For growing is fantastic but... it takes a lot of inmersion

I think it will come out this year but the quest changes and updates need to come first obviously, or too many people will just be « chilling » in the same areas now, GV, IC, SG, GP, HT and it’ll still feel dead, everywhere else. And I’d hope they have figured out the lag issues because as it stands now when I go to crater and there’s just 10-20 ppl there it lags a lot. But these things can take awhile to get right so here’s to hoping this year 🤞😌
yea i think quest changes would be top priority first, and maybe some other ways to encourage movement
My only issue with 200 player servers means that there might be no dead areas to quest on slow babies solo, cause there’s no way I’m gonna be able to grow an eo or a Rex on official with that much interaction

If they add 200 players do you think they will eventually add a new map? Like a inbetween of gondwa and panj. 200 players on gondwa sounds like a bit much

What do you mean by that? the map is totally empty, you only find people in hotspots, it would be way better if you found people anywhere like a real gamer instead of a walk forest simulator

I’m genuinely scared for my pc at this point. My usual is 30 fps, so im terrified with the idea of having twice as much ppl
I feel like we need a new map before getting 200 player servers. Gondwa is rather small for that size and completely lacks any incentive for players to spread out due to the biome layouts and diet system.
thats a really good suggestion try it on a new map see if it works first before destroying gondwa
i do think gondwas main problem is the Impact Crater POI, i think the devs need to design a way to move people around more or encourage it

They need to get better servers to fix lag along with fixes, problem with 200 players is it will still be uncommon to see people as gondwa is huge. Eventually they should shoot for 300. You wany to have 20 or so players per poi ideally, more for the larger ones like raindbow hills.

Making the server limit 200 players isnt going to solve the issue of 90% of the map being empty.
All its going to do is congregate all 200 into crater/gp and increase the number of mega packs per server.
I hope they add 200 players. The 100 limit is god awful for Realism servers...
I don't care if mobile players lag. Having a game like this on mobile is insane anyway. It should be PC console only.
I’d agree, only if they let you transfer your account as so far if you bought it on mobile it’s only on mobile and you can’t transfer your account like you can with other platforms

@@bapbap9369 I think a lot of older realism players still remember what happened in grassland lake, and they sorta isolated themselves but, who can blame them it was kinda, uncalled for to say the least
Official servers are only 90 players just now so getting to 100 players with reasonable stability will be the next milestone.

Only worry with 200 player servers is that it may kill many of the servers that are sort of dead or pop off every once in a while.
yea as people would move more towards the bigger servers
The problem is guys just migrate to ic over and over like zombies and it causes two things; 1. Holy lag on the server 2. The entire map will be empty and everyone just laying around staring at each in ic, and there are so many beautiful landmarks to fight at and relish in the scenery.

However that isnt ran on the same servers officials run on AFAIK, however servers frequently going 100+ tend to have lag problems. Additionally servers can only go over 100 with reserve slots, meaning only those with reserve slots can join after 100 players, the games got a hard cap at 100, once that is unleashed anyone can join a server that is at 100 players as long as they set their cap higher
If it’s gunna be 200 they gotta get the old gen out asap cause that’s what’s holding back a lot of game

Lord...just make 80 players feel smooth. Tick rate poops the bed after 75 players on community. I was climbing inside a lamb's ass on officials earlier and not one claw or bite registered for 5 rotations of attacks. It was a meatball! I had to let it go!
I’ve been playing for quite some time now, and I think it’s more about the players themselves. because no matter what if you have more players. It’s more likely that you’ll have more annoying players here to ruin your day on purpose. And if we add 200 players, it might just be officials all over again.

Yes! But this was something that was more backend with limited testing, they are now testing this more afaik
I say something more like 120-150 200 is just way too much and will increase lag. Not to mention how crazy hot spots will be with a large number of people in the servers. Not only would impact crater be incredibly more laggy but just way too overpopulated.

Id rather have 200 when its ready, 100 members is... okay... for now but the map does feel empty which leads me to wish for a smaller base gams map.
I agree with 200 players for panjura, but gondwa? I run into players all the time on gondwa.
I would rather have AI dinosaurs than have 200 player servers. AI would make the map feel more alive. Players will still concentrate in IC, GP, and GV. It would be fun to see a dinosaur and have to watch it closely to see if it's being controlled by a human or an AI.

I dont super get how they can say they have 200 player servers and AI dinosaurs on their website for so long without actually having them. Better late than never though
Current maps require a minimum of 200 players. Gondwana is a very interesting map, but too large and lifeless. Activity can only be found in certain locations. Most locations are empty and therefore uninteresting. The game forces you to go to certain locations. Or you wander alone in a lifeless wasteland.

200 would be fun if only there was things in the ocean to play. The ocean is the most open and most dead part of the game, and everyone will just overpopulate crater and that will be boring.
Hello, I've discovered an interesting mobile game that I'm sure will interest you. This is The Cursed Isle - a dinosaur survival simulator. In this game you can choose your own dinosaur, survive on the island, explore it and fight for your place in the dinosaur hierarchy. I think you can create amazing content based on this game!

I don't want 200 players cause thats going to cause major lag. Me and my friends already have problems with 100 player lag let alone 200 and official is going to be unplayable because of mixpackers.
I think the majority of 200 player's could mean some what of having so much lag but it could actually make bigger groups like in the isle they make it were it's like a migration with a lot of herds.
