I love Molotov!!! They were huge in the 90s. I remember dancing to this song and the whole club yelling "Viva México, cabrones! when they sing that. The English translation you read is way too neutral and nice. They say "dame todo el power para que te demos en la madre"...that's not really give us the power to show you how it's supposed to be done; that's more like "give us the power so we can fuck you up now." Now it's our turn. It's more like that.
This song is a representation of how mexican people felt for a very long time. It was only with Morena that we have politicians thar actually do what they say they will

Yes, Molotov are a rap/rock band in the style of Rage Against the Machine and the Beastie Boys, not only musically, but thematically. They have serious political songs like R.A.T.M. and fun party songs like the Beastie Boys, and stuff in between.
It is considered one of the most emblematic and well-known songs of Molotov, although it was not played on the radio, but also the most controversial, since the lyrics criticize the politicians of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI-Partido Revolucionario Institucional), which at that time I was in power in Mexico.
maxcgm yes in 1997. I remember it because we used to listen to it after school. I remember going to a quince años party that year and they played that song and the adults were all scandalized that we knew all the lyrics.
maxcgm Nah, the song was played, it was the image of the cd that got everybody freaking out because it showed the legs of a schoolgirl with their underwear down in her legs. One of my schoolmates took it to school and showed it to us when we were choosing songs to perform at a kermés. We chose Tubthumping and the girl who danced the main part told the boy who brought it that he was gross. And there’s no way I would have known the song if it wasn’t for the radio because after that I was scared of being seen with the guys looking at the cd, yet I knew all the lyrics by the time of the party.
I found your channel searching this song. Grew up listening to it & now realized how it influenced my worldview. Curious how other people reacted to one of my all time favorite songs. Really enjoyed your commentary.
Yessss!! Molotov is bomb jajaja.... love their first two albums... keep reacting to them... must warn you... strong lirycs on some songs that might upset you
searched this song, because this song stands true til this day. ESPECIALLY RIGHT NOW in the US. Glad you reacted to it. New sub. Ive enjoyed a couple you have done :)
even though I don't speak very good Spanish, this song grabbed me the day it came out and been a favorite ever since I even went so far as to learn all the lines in this song and what they mean, so I can't really speak conversationally but I can sing this song like I do haha, Molotov is one of my favorite Mexican bands. if you like them you might really like Cartel De Santa as well, they are super good.
This song also has parallels to here in the USA. We live a police state and people are poor but made to believe that be are better off than other countries when we are not. The working class pays so much in taxes but we never see anything in return but the rich keep getting richer.

You must react to Nach “el idioma de los dioses”, also, Canserbero any of his songs too, Aldeanos; these are great rap musicians that fuse their genres with rock, hip hop, etc.

Molotov’s songs always have strong political messages and that’s why I love them
