Just because KidCaliBeats and joseignacoictm both want to hear something that sounds like the old blink-182, doesn't mean they are "stuck in the past". They just prefer the classic blink-182 sound and they have a right to do that. They are allowed to have their own opinion. Missing something isn't necessarily dwelling on the past. also, "there's no sense dwelling in the past" actually talks about when you can't get over a painful thing from the past. The line before "there's no sense dwelling in the past" is "my life before was a such a mess". Obviously one of blink-182's singers (probably Skiba) was singing about how it's good to move on from painful parts of the past. Missing the classic blink-182 sound isn't being stuck in the past. I honestly like the classic blink-182 sound, too.

The bass line before the final chord remind me a lot of the main guitar riff to Roller Coaster before it ends on the same chord (this song just doesn’t have the tremolo effect)
Sounds like a lot of things. St. Jimmy at the beginning, Roller Coaster at the end, and the whole thing gives off a TOYPAJ-vibe.
This one definitely brings a vibe from the most punk rock-ish time of Blink.

Mark Hoppus said:
‘The Only Thing That Matters’ we wrote very early on in the process. It was this bass thing that I had come up with and we wrote the song around it. For whatever reason, John [Feldmann] got it in his head that the bass part and the drum part together made it sound like ‘country-punk’. So we changed it slightly, and it’s a really cool fast song with a cool bass part and cool drum parts, and will be a fun song to play live as well."
Producer John Feldman said:
Collectively we all hated this song, up to a certain point. Then all of the sudden Mark rewrote the bass part and we all loved it. One day it just turned into this song. Mark originally had this cow punk, Social Distortion but in the Country-iest way that none of us felt a connection to at all. It had this yeehaw-vibe to it but none of us hated the music or the melody, we just didn’t connect to it then. Mark had the song mapped out and then he went back and re-wrote the whole thing and it became a song we all loved.
There aren’t a lot of really classic, fast pop-punk song on the album and this is one that fits the bill of what Southern California pop-punk feels like when I was growing up.

This and Cynical are the most Blink-182-like out of the entire album. Sadly, they are both short. For me, the worst in the album is Los Angeles. Good album, but I would have liked more songs like Cynical. They didn't lie when they said this album is more like Blink-182 (2003). Not bad, but I wish they make and album like "Dude Ranch" or "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket"

This is the most rushed album I've ever heard. Not good. Mark is a way better lyricist and songwriter than this. He just wanted to get something out and quick so they could tour off of it. Bad idea man. This album unoriginal cliche garbage compared to any other blink record
I don't understand people that complain about this album. They say it doesn't sound like old blink, because it's not punk and because the lyrics are cheesy.
Well if this isn't blink's punk then I don't know what it is. Also, Blink's lyrics were always cheesy, except those that were about silly things.
