I like the combination of violin and viola da gamba for trio sonatas, rather than two violins. Buxtehude wrote some good ones too. The lines are much easier to make out and the compositions are much more interesting to listen to, in my opinion.
Another gem from BC. Exceptional selection & performance from the greatness of Telemann. Unable to rank fine music, by other than its expressive power & classic duration over centuries (Bach over Handel? Stravinsky over Prokofiev?), it is wonderful for some of us to always count on BC to choose - simply - the finest music, superbly played; & true, whether composer or players are considered "famous." I confess that Contadin & this ensemble were not known to me; my lack. Thanks to all.

Telemann speaks to me in more ways than one specially when I am quite depressed. The Change that comes over me when I listen to any Composition of Telemann is nothing short of Miraculous. I love Baroque Music a lot. I eagerly wait every day for every new upload from you guys. I sincerely pray that it is an upload concerning Baroque Music as that pleases me like no tomorrow. Apparently attempting the timelessness of Ingres, which, century or so late notwithstanding, would "match" a sensibility like Telemann's. However, the over-sweet finish of the brushwork, & superficially seductive expression, put this in mid-to-late 19 c., w/ forgettable painters like Zorn; lacking the authenticity, if lesser talent - like Hayez, who has the same authenticity & valid stature as, say Eakins - of Ingres or David. Yes, you're not interested. :)

Telemann is excellent but I rather choose J.S.Bach as a better choice to listen to because in one lifetime there's no time for huge opus of both of them.
And this is why JS Bach & Telemann were friends! His fashion is a bit similar to Bach, although way way way less advanced. Lol, sorry it’s just the truth.
