I don't have this anymore but I do still have a similar model. The controls should be the same. With that said, push AL1 button and hold, while holding, use the left/right directional buttons to set the hour, push the source button while still holding the alarm button and again the directional buttons to set the minutes. Now use the volume up and down buttons while still holding the Alarm button to select the days of the week. You get the option of 5 days (mon through fri), the weekend only, or all 7 days a week. Release the Alarm button, and you're set. Same way with setting the 2nd alarm. Hold down AL2 button and set to what you need.
Why don't you read the manual, you'd be figure out how to show the year. It will show the year, you just don't know how to do it. There would not be any reason to even have it or show it initially if it wasn't able to be shown. Like I say, read the manual.

Was a used item. No manual. Course I could of looked it up but chose not to.
