Thave a similar model that I purchased in the 90's. Aiwa NSX-H80 Stereo Systems. All the belts inside melted. Still work with idle CD, Radio, audio input which I use and it still pounds loud. Can anyone help me in Chicago?
cant find minty schiz like that here!
Looks like a quality system!! Nice video, i subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
Remember your hip hop cd? Well i'm pretty sure the exact title is "Hip Hop: The Original Masters-CD-2003".
@coincollectingtime821 it is. I saw a few on ebay.
Wow! No wonder half of the stuff I have delivered gets damaged. And then there's the stuff that never gets delivered! You should show that to someone at the post office
Santa brought us this unit and I haven't been able to figure out how to get the cassette to play either. And the instruction sheet says nothing about the cassette player. 🥴😡
The story on how that hip-hop CD got damaged lol
I died at 2:46 💀
Currently Exporting my first episode of testing out badly damaged dvds And should be published within 25-50mins
@@coincollectingtime821 excellent 👍
@christronicsdereksrandomness36 Actually just Uploaded it 50 minutes ago.
Do you happen to know if it's normal for there to be a slight noise (like hum) coming from the back of the unit even when it's off? It's not very loud, but if I put my head close, I can hear it. Guessing it's the amp, but I'd think it'd turn off totally. If I unplug it, the hum stops.
@TheExtraTerrestrial Sounds like its just the power transformer. Some will hum. Ive got a few radios that hum. Its no biggie.
@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 Thanks!
Wow you get some great prices on stuff where u are 😮
Yes, time to get our GPX on!!!
I remember gpx originally stood for grand Prix
Please show mother board photo of Sony cfd s50.
I wonder if they sell this in store
Does it have am ,Fm what is the price now
@SantitaCaleron i no longer have this. But its fm only if i remember right. And idk the price. A few years back stores were selling them as cheap as 15 bucks to get rid of em. Im sure these are discontinued.
I'm actually gonna be doing my series. Where I test out my damaged DVD's and cds To see how well they play on different players because I have 40+ Dvd/Blu-ray players And A Ton of scratched d v d's. Wish me luck. Would have loved to try that hip hop cd you have lol
@coincollectingtime821 Good luck! Ill be watching your series.
8:51 Sounds like a car failing to start up
Perfeito esse mini system, uma pena que não há comercialização aqui pra nós em território brasileiro.
Any chance you can tell us what this is called?
Stereo?! Wow...
Thrift finds are so satisfying
@Thriftronics i love thrifting. And amazon lol both are an addiction lol
I’ve never ever seen a lava like that, it’s quite the sight what a gem and thanks for sharing ❤
My battery won’t charge anyone know why? It’s a PV-D300D
Nice job 👍 mr fixer
@@Thriftronics thank you!
@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 $4:99 is ridiculously cheap BTW
VSH-C cameras were ok. Remember having one in 1992 and only lasted a couple months…threw it away and bought a new one the same year.
It's 2024. Short wave hardly exists anymore. 😢
I found me one of these at the thrift store almost brand new for 6.99, love it so far
My Lennox sound cd-101 has the same problem with the cd player, the screen and lazer do absolutely nothing lol.
@mikesjunkytech9425 must be a power fault. I just found the fault with this one and its not getting enough power.
My cousin had the same Aiwa boombox! He bought it from a rather large flea market near Charlotte back in 2014 for a reasonable price, but unlike yours, his unit still worked!
@douglasallen9428 I think ive narrowed it down to the front board not getting enough power. I did some probing and theres an 8v lead and a 5v lead. The 8 is there but the 5 isnt. On the 5v rail it reads 0.68. So ether a component has failed or theres a crack somewhere.
That CD part gotta out of an old machine worth the effort
the sound is much better than I thought something this "crappy" is supposed to sound like. but I bet you seperate the speakers and put them across the room and it would still sound pretty decent. just about room filling sound I'd say.
You'd be surprised how well some really scratched CDs will play. Some players are kinda sensitive to scratches too though. In my experience I always had better luck with the cheaper players with my scratched disks. I had one in particular that my Sony diskmans would barely even read and skipped like crazy on that my cheap durabrand would play nearly perfectly lol
I remember seeing this at Walmart im guessing around 2002. I think it sold for $50
@stereomann83 that sounds about right.
it ain't much but it's an honest boombox :p
@@JessicaFEREM Yeah it gets the job done it looks like it was someone's work radio with the paint all over it.
Do you sell these or do you just give them ?!
@@abdelkaderelbachir3817 some i keep. Others ill ether re-donate, or bring to my local record store to be sold.
This phillips cd player probably did the best on that hip hop. It's interesting To learn how a different cd players have different effects, As you mentioned in part one. I remember when I was younger.I actually listened to some Damaged c d's in my car and I was laughing Thinking it was the funniest thing ever. The effect that my c d player makes on damaged c d's is that it will play at normal speed but very choppy, And will make weird clicking sounds. It was also the first one to go past track 7 on the la bouche. I would love to have that Hip-hop CD and the la bouche And play around with them in different c.D players to see what I can get lol
Back in the late 80s, I drilled many 1/4" holes in a CD I didn't particularly like to see how well the error correction worked on my 1985 Philips CD150 CD player. Much to my surprise, it played back audibly flawlessly!
I have three questions. How did it work. How did it work. And finally. How Did it work
Yeah, OK! 🙄
They've gone up in price a bit ha. Just picked 1 up
Hi I need help to turn my mines
☢☢☢
10:43 sweet_dreams.exe Has stopped working
woaaaa
If. You have any insignia cd players?I would love to see how it reacts to these scratched cds In part five if that even comes out. Toshiba or JVC would also be really good too.
@coincollectingtime821 i had an insignia cd player but it was crap and i eventually got rid of it. I dont got any Toshiba or jvc boomboxes at the moment.
It's interesting how these players have different effects. I heard that j v c players have a very very funny effect. Forgot damage track. If it decides to play , it will skip all over the track. Quite hilarious as if you were mashing the fast forward and rewind At the same time. I also heard that d v d players and blu ray players read c d's too. Why don't you give that a try
Also that LA bouche Sweet dreams is on apple music.
@christronicsdereksrandomness36 Thanks for letting me know. On my CD player. I predict that for the hip hop Cd it would probably not get so far, But on that la bouche, I have a strong feeling that it would Play One and two, Maybe a little bit of 3, Certainly wouldn't play Four Or five. I have a strong feeling about Six And seven. No chance on number 8-11, And then start playing again with no interruptions past 12. I'm only saying this because mine is not that sensitive
@coincollectingtime821 i tried that la bouche on a different player and it got past 9. Not perfect but further than the other players. And that hip hop i also tried and it got past the deep gouge and started to play tk 10 and 11. I was shocked.
Still Surprised at how many of these actually worked.
@@coincollectingtime821 same here
Nice. I was actually surprised how well these even read. I'm surprised you still have those 2 from the original. Maybe I could do some resurfacing on the hip hop cd To get it to work.
The ones that have no cracks.I could probably fix them.
@coincollectingtime821 that hip hop has more issues than surface scratches. Theres a deep gouge and a lump at the end of it. That's not fixable unfortunately.
@@coincollectingtime821 pt 3 currently uploading, and pt 4 after.
@christronicsdereksrandomness36 Also, what I would have done with that la bouche cd Is I would have tried seeing if anything passed 9 would work. Probably won't though
You could also turn this into a series
If you've found some more scratched c.D's around your house.I would love to see a part two Of testing scratched C d's to see if they work. Maybe you can turn it into a series. I actually have multiple scratched dvds of my own And I wonder if you want me to turn it into a series as well.Where I just tested in different dvd players. If you remember from three years ago in part one you had a hip hop c d and a la bouche Sweet dreams Cd. I looked at it and with my resurfacing machine.I could probably get that hip hop cd Back in business but probably not the one with the crack.
@coincollectingtime821 im uploading another one as im replying to you.
@@christronicsdereksrandomness36thx
@christronicsdereksrandomness36 I can't find it on your channel. It probably got blocked because of copyright

Still here, we miss u.
My uncle has that particular stereo. He got it brand new and he still has it.
Does anyone know if this stereo has an alarm? Mine keeps turning on at the same time everyday, but I can’t find an alarm setting on it
Got one for 40 bucks yesterday but the everything works but left channel doesn’t work
