I like the fact that Sir Frank genuinely cares about his students works. You can tell he has deep dived into each student's body of work and thought process with the way he speaks as if he himself made the work. Your students should be truly thankful and, of course, all their work is captivating.
Mr. Saunders, I am so glad the TH-cam algorithm served this video up to me, two years after you made it… I adore Collage, which I began making in the 1990’s ; but have not been up to making in recent years, due to a combination of life events, disability, the Pandemic, and worsening Depression. Within the past year, I have lost two of 3 younger siblings, and one of two (mentally ill) adult children, who committed Suicide. It’s an overwhelming amount of emotion and memory to PROCESS, and I am on the severe end of more than one Spectrum-feeling little but FROZEN for more than a month, now. I didn’t mean to get this personal, but I would like you to know that your video helped me to chip away at the ice I feel trapped in, by giving me something of quality and substance to engage with! Not only was this “student” show impressive-even inspirational-I was equally impressed with how beautifully you spoke about the work… I think that the students of your Collage class are lucky, indeed! Many thanks to you, and them, for sharing this impressive group of outstanding Collage pieces with those of us who can only travel via TH-cam. Wishing all of you a rich and productive 2023!
Thank you for this tour. I really enjoyed it. It makes me want to come and study with you. It must be wonderful to learn about print making, photography and collage under the same roof.
I really enjoyed viewing these collages and hearing about the artists. I always wanted to be a collage artist but my parents said I wasn’t cut out for it. Never mind I collage now.
Wow, you and your students are so talented! I love seeing other artist’s work. My favorite were the four portrait pieces you called assemblage. I am sorry I forgot the artist’s name. The use of materials was outstanding! Also the piece with the insects was fascinating. What kind of glue do you need for that? PVA?
