I was gifted one of these. I hadn't heard of this type before so off to TH-cam I went 😂. It has a stand that has reverted, so it's like I got two in one 😉😂 I love pothos and philodendrons, typically such easy growers. Thank you for this video.
I read that Manjula is a cross between N’Joy and Marble Queen (not Pearls and Jade). My baby Manjula has finally decided that it’s happy and is growing like a champ. I imagine it will take years to get as long as yours though. Beautiful plant! 💚
Hi Karen! I saw both listed as the cross. Marble Queen makes more sense to me though. There’s so much conflicting info out there. Don’t be surprised if it just suddenly takes off. Once it’s happy there’s no stopping it lol.
PERFECT timing on this video. I just removed my Manjula from the old bird cage and cur it up too. It was struggling as it was. I gave it a moss pole that I have not been keeping wet. Mostly t is support. I propped several stems to put back into what is the new mother plant pot once they are well rooted. Just started her all over. It is such a pretty plant. I had no idea it reverted to Global green. Editing to add I also had a lot of the bare stems. I only have a couple pothos that I have had for years and years . I have found they just need to be totally started over after a while. Yours is such a beauty. i think she has lots of good years left in her. Chopping her now is a great idea.
Did you know they only have a 5 year life-span? I discovered that after I made the video. I hope that is a typo LOL. I just looked it up again. So it's 5-10 years. Still makes me sad. Hopefully mine is at the longer end of that life expectancy. When pothos decides to get ugly (bare stems) they really get ugly LOL. My marble queen is doing that. I need to chop that one up too!
@@ThePinkTrellis OK Then This kind of says it all.I have had to restart my old pothos plants 3 or 4 times totally from scratch. I have had them since the mid to late 70's. So maybe this is the truth. just think no leaf is going to last 10 or even 5 years. Maybe why they do get so many bare stems. It is kind of what Suzette and I have ben discussing about renewing our older plants. Many current youtubers have not had their plants as long as us old plant parents. So this has not really come to light for many. It is all very interesting. So glad you brought this little bit on their expected life span up.
@@shadesofidaho it’s all pretty interesting. For me this is another reason why I won’t go out of my way to try and get giant leaves on my Pothos, because they aren’t going to last anyways. Just my opinion on it. It’s not worth the effort for me.
@@ThePinkTrellis Right. I did find the Hawaiian pothos seemed to naturally put out a larger leaf. And doe to space restrictions and lack of hanging space I did grow mine up trellises. I did get slightly larger leaves. Those huge leaves are beautiful but like you they are not my goal to try and create.
That’s a beautiful manjula pothos and I love your hob nail plant pot.I just bought a manjula from Home Depot and it was very wet so I changed out the soil and put it into a smaller pot. Thanks for the info,I enjoyed your video 😊
Hi Gena, looking beautiful as always. Thank you for a very informative video. You should definitely make others like this. Hope you have a wonderful week ❤
Hi Gena! I adore manjula! Thanks for the fun facts. I didn’t know it was a cross between pearls and jade and n’joy and that reverted manjula is global green. I have some rooting in water right now. Next time I’ll try soil propagation.
Hi Cheryl! Karen pointed out that she read its njoy and marble queen. I saw both listed on the internet. Either way, it’s a cross between two other plants lol. Yeah I didn’t know that about Global Green….soooo cool 😊.
Yeahhh You make it💚just like that💚 one of my favorite planting channels, thank you so much Gena for sharing your knowledge and entertainment for all of us 💚😘
No problem! I always try to cut very close to the leaf just because that bit of stem that is left is just going to die off anyways and look ugly LOL. Happy Sunday :).
I love Manjulas. I bought several plants and cuttings to get started. I have not been fortunate enough to find any in garden centers until my recent find in Home Depot. My Manjula has not grown that much this summer. I guess it is making roots. Thank you for the video. The information is very much needed. I am in the process of bringing my plants inside. I would hate to cut manjula back too. I did a hard prune on my Syngonium and it is so beautiful now. The leaves are so big. I hope it does not regress this winter.
I haven't seen any at the big box stores yet but my area seems slow to get the really interesting things. Just wait...one day yours will take off :). It's soooo hard to cut down a beautiful plant like that, but I know it's for the best and eventually the plant should be even bigger with all the new off-shoots. My syngoniums never have issue in the winter and I'm in a pretty cold climate, so I'm guessing yours will be just fine!!!! :)
Thank you!!!! The pots of manjula are doing amazingly!!! Growing so many roots. They should be in my shop before too much longer if you are located in the US 😊. Thank you again!!! 💚💚💚
Oh my goodness! Is that wall paper in the background? I love butterflies! Do you mind telling me where you purchased? Also enjoyed your video! My favorite videos are propagation videos! Thank you so much!

Hi very nice information I just started on collecting different plants this year. I saw people used leca so what is better potting soil, water or leca?
Thank you! I don’t think any are necessarily better it’s just what your preference is really. I prefer soil or sphagnum moss. Water is fine too. I’ve never tried leca.
Still on the lookout for a Manjula in my area. Hard to find amongst the snow queens lol. That’s interesting how when it reverts it turns into global green.
Good luck in the search! I don't think I've ever seen one at the big box stores but I know they are out there! Isn't it???? I was so excited to learn that LOL.
Hi!!! Thank you so much!!! I actually did quite a few houseplant/home tours this past summer. I had to break them up into 5 videos. Check those out if you are interested in seeing more of my home :). Thanks again!!!
Mine started losing leaves on top when I brought it in this winter. I chopped it all the way back to the soil. It’s now growing back and I have 4 full 4-inch pots from the propagated leaves.
Thank you sooo much 🥰. You predicted right!!!! The manjula pots are already showing new growth and doing amazing. I couldn’t be more happy with them!!!! Thanks again 💕💕💕.

@ThePinkTrellis Thank you very much. Lol, I have another question: Do you have experience with the Shingle Vine Plant (rhaphidophora hayi)? I'm looking to remove the attached board and replace it with a moss or coco coir pole - maybe even a piece of driftwood. Anyways, thanks for the info for the pots.
@@simplydee4522 is that the one commonly found at the big box stores? I've never had one. I have had a few shingling plants though. Hi!!! I'll be curious to see if my favorite will become the global green like yours is your favorite :). Currently the manjula holds that top spot!!!! I haven't heard anything about rights to sell for cultivar plants. As far as I know, that isn't an issue :).
this must be propogation day, because I cut my philodendron brasil and my green princess and propogated them. they were two stubborn plants that I put outside for the summer and they grew some stuff, and had lots of little aerial roots on them, so now i have more strands in moss
