That is a Beautiful Heirloom Glenda, I will be making this for the center of my queen size spare room bed. It’s a brass and ceramic knobs with pink flowers painted on the knobs, pink rug and beige walls. This will be beautiful on the bed🩷

Going around again with that pink yarn to make that pink stripe is absolutely the best choice because that repeat of pink color brings a beautiful compliment to the center of your design. What you might call “mistakes” or misuse of the yarn, and not according to your “plan”, ACTUALLY ADDS MUCH INTEREST to the whole design. Sometimes what we might consider an unfortunate use or repeat of a yarn color turns out to add excellence to the completed project. I enjoyed this a lot. You explained things well. I also design most my crochet projects by the seat of my pants. (Not for sale, tho) So, I fully relate to how you explained you do it. There really are a lot of variables to consider when designing. But I enjoy it so much. Thank you for being so authentic about this process. Many people don’t understand or appreciate how much brain power it takes to design…and to design well. Your afghan is beautiful!

Hi, Glenda I love this video. So fun to see the design process . I am so new to crochet. I've only designed baskets and a scarf. I think I need to practice crocheting in the round a little bit more before I take this on. But when the tutorial comes out, I will watch it and see if I can manage all the stitches. I have been knitting for years, and I started designing a lot more of my own network because I'm going blind, losing more eyesight, and I just can't read the print patterns that I own. Honestly, starting the design was so liberating. Now, I love it. I don't have enough eyesight to really draw anything that I have in my mind. So I design on the fly as I go, sometimes I think, oh I should have done that differently as I'm working. Unfortunately, knitting is much harder to rip out than crochet. It's not as forgiving when you make mistakes so I often don't go back and fix them. I love the creative process, though of designing in my mind and it was so fun to hear and see from you how you work. Thanks.
The blanket is Beautiful! Years ago my aunt Gladys whom lived in Texas crocheted and she came to see us here in SC.She used to make these Beautiful round pillows! She would put flowers right in the center with Beautiful leaves all over! I have never seen any anywhere.And over the years I have searched and searched, she did the flowers Beautiful pastel colors with Spring green leaves with the outside border a cream color .They were Beautiful! Hope you can give it a try!
