Akkermansia is naturally occurring in the gut. Remember the original Akkermansia culture was harvested from the gut of test subjects with natural levels of Akkermansia.
So after the first week glucose has skyrocketed. Each day is worse than previous. Average daily glucose was 121 plus minus 2 consistently before, last two days were 148 and 149.

I think potentially with a proper functioning gut and micro biome we could eat almost anything and still be healthy and thriving. This would probably eliminate the need for carnivore or keto diets, which essentially diets to eliminate and heal. I don’t think its healthy so starve one self regularly to be healthy. The micro biome may govern just about everything but educating and fixing that problem would cost the medical establishment trillions in revenue decline.
If a person is struggling with cravings so much that they cannot alter their macros pattern, possibly starting the synbiotic product described here could lower cravings and assist them to have more success at lowering their carbs? Dr. Boz, this was an interesting conversation about Akkermansia, but I would have loved to hear more about the other ingredients in the product you have been taking to know why and how they are important and helpful...
Ok Dr. Boz I am going to give you a hard time. First keep asking questions? Are polyphenols necessary? Do they actually do what we are told and believe without questions? Antioxidants? Our own liver makes glutathione? So I would argue that polyphenols & other plant toxins might be useful in a medicinal way. But it seems that the body tries to remove these foreign particles as much as possible. I would agree that our diet could select over time our biome. But I am either De. Shawn Baker you don’t need fiber. We have been educated to eat it. I’m not surprised that the biome plays a role but let’s not forget that GLP-1 inhibitors are actually detrimental despite the biased science pushing them. Nothing we doctors prescribe as in medicines does better than a the normal body processes when working. Dr. Ginge
I'm considering doing the same thing but most of the probiotics in this are anerobic, I don't know how well they will do with oxygen. Hope it works for you.
I just got my order from Pendulum and I took one last night and one this morning. It might be psychosomatic but I feel full ! Could it work that fast? I forgot to check my morning blood sugar but this is honestly the first time ever I have felt full only eating a small protein breakfast.
Hi Dr. Boz. Your topics are always so interesting. I struggle with insulin resistance, and now eat a mostly carnivore diet, keeping carbs under 20g, often just 0-5 g. I've been interested lately in Dr. Sean O'mara's discussions about ferments. According to him, they are loaded with probiotics, the fermenting process uses up the sugars so their 0 to low carb, and are great for your gut biome. Only a couple of tablespoons of fermented cabbage are necessary per day for all those amazing benefits. (too much more and one may spend too much time on the toilet!). He talks about and uses many other ferments, such a kefir, but I haven't gone that deep into it yet.
I see no evidence that any probiotic supplement is superior in benefit to the inclusion of traditionally fermented vegetables, such as sauerkraut, in the diet. These traditional foods deliver critical inulin or FOS to the gut, which supports the proliferation of a healthy microbiome. The impact of glyphosate is an ongoing concern. Glyphosate is an antibiotic, and it is ubiquitous in grains in North America.
I have an elevated lower (diastolic) blood pressure. I measure my bp every day for years. Last year, I started taking their akkermansia (for one month) and noticed in a week that my bp had normalized. Before, no rx drugs I took could do that effect. This year, I took their glucose control, and again, my bp went down to normal levels almost immediately, and stayed there. I have all the records. But it has no effect on my hba1c, I test every month. But my levels are normal already, to be fair
So by taking akermansia, probiotics, does it reduces appetitd n therdby reduces blood glucose? Is randomised double blind clinicsl trial data available?
Dr Boz says her A1C levels as well as her glucose spikes have gone down over a two week period. This means that there is less sugars in her blood. The only way that can occur is if her insulin sensitivity has improved.
What is GLP1 and how can I get it. I have type 2 diabetes and A1c higher than that. I’ve been trying to use helping my microbiome to get it under control. I find that L-Gasseri fermented dairy has really helped me manage my appetite. It seems to be helping with that but not necessarily with my sugars.
My question would be … what do you do if you have had a gastric bypass? Plus the cost just can’t be done for people that live paycheck to paycheck. Most of us cannot afford a glucose monitor either. I can’t prick my finger anymore!
I have been taking Seed symbiotic and really haven’t noticed a difference. I placed an order for a 3 month subscription and will monitor my food and CGM. I’ve been having great success with adding allulose to lower blood sugar but my tummy has been bothering me and I can only take so much. I’ve struggled with being heavy and not having self control over eating my entire life. I’m just wondering if my micro biome has been compromised and just maybe I can finally lose weight and keep it off.

@@claudiasimon6606 Yes, the Peter Attia interview really shows just how brilliant Colleen really is.
So many options GLP-1, Akkermansia, & Daily Metabolic Probiotics! How do you know what to choose?
Would be interesting to hear how this affects someone with ulcerative colitis or crohns.
Yes I thought we aren’t supposed to take inulin ( at least according to Specific Carbohydrate diet)
Wow yet another product out of reach for a typical person. Why so expensive and in need of a subscription for a reduced price. If you want to know what lower income society is so sick, this is part of the problem. This is a very sad part of our society!
You can get Akkermansia cheaper from other sources than Pendulum. And you can also get it from certain foods.
@@ronlugbill1400 Pendulum makes the only akkermansia product that has been tested to survive the long trip to the distal colon. All the other so-called akkermansia products are fake. Listen to Colleen talk about this in the video.
I took it for nine months. No weight loss.
Did you notice any difference?

What was your eating like?
@@AlexandertheGreat99 Did you wear a glucose monitor to see if your A1C levels and glucose spikes were impacted?
So much of the information on TH-cam is confusing. I would love to hear you and the TH-camr The Glucose Goddess, Jessie Inchauspe, talk about this subject. My head is spinning; eat animal products, eat only a plant based diet, eat a variety, chew food thoroughly, intermittent fasting, 1-5 day fasts, feed the gut....whew!!!! Your video popped on my feed for a reason. I have struggled with Type 2 diabetes for 25 years and I am tired...
Did you get a GI MAP test before and after to see the level akkermansia present?
I did
My endocrinologist ok’d berberine for my prediabetes. Can you take this along with berberine?
Are these probiotics safe with fungus and candida?????
Akkermansia is naturally occurring in the gut. Remember the original Akkermansia culture was harvested from the gut of test subjects with natural levels of Akkermansia.
Too expensive. Pharmaceuticals have taken far too much $ from Americans.
Hey Dr Boz how often should you be checking your blood glucose and ketones?
I’ll volunteer to take this and be in the study
me too!
Just ordered the G1 thanks for the promo code Dr Boz!
If you stop taking after 90 days how would one maintain without taking anymore?
Great question
Feed it with prebiotic foods
Chicory inulin 3 scoops twice a day has helped me.
Ordered a month supply for my diabetic wife to test as an N=1
So after the first week glucose has skyrocketed. Each day is worse than previous. Average daily glucose was 121 plus minus 2 consistently before, last two days were 148 and 149.
I tested and had no akkermansia so I tried Pendulum’s Akkermansia. After months of use and a lot of money, it did nothing for me.
How do you test?
GI Map / stool test
@@blokeontheend Did you wear a glucose monitor to see if your A1C and glucose spikes were lowered? Remember this product was developed for Type 2 diabetics.
But yes, the price tag is an issue. However, if a patient has the means and wants to try, it might help.
If you're wanting glp-1, why not use allulose?
Dr. Boz, this was an interesting conversation about Akkermansia, but I would have loved to hear more about the other ingredients in the product you have been taking to know why and how they are important and helpful...
Tune in next week. We have lots of questions to answer - This is another good question
Personally I greatly, greatly prefer hearing about the product & what it does right up front …. the ‘back story’ I can listen to later
Dr. Ginge
I took four of the capsules and made some yougart
I'm considering doing the same thing but most of the probiotics in this are anerobic, I don't know how well they will do with oxygen. Hope it works for you.
WHAT IS CONSIDERED A HIGH INFLAMMATORY STATE???? CPR ? WHAT WOULD BE THE LAB MARKER FOR THAT 9? 40 ? WHAT MARKERS ARE INFLAMMATORY????
I have heard N of 1 lately in my research.. what does that mean?
Sample size of 1
Thank you! I’m 100% carnivore and taking pendulum glucose control for 2 months and wondering if pendulum will even work!
The Glucose Control contains Inulin, a fiber food source for the Akkermansia to grow.
I’m getting good glucose control so I’m wondering about the impact on mitochondria.
Dr. Cutie Pie is back live
Your figures for average glucose and a1c do not match. Check reference or a calculator or Chat gbt.
That's what I was thinking. Seems like her A1C should have been lower and even lower after taking the pro/pre biotic.
That’s because that number is not A1C, it’s GMI, which is different.
You’d think she’d know that 🤦🏻♀️
I just got my order from Pendulum and I took one last night and one this morning. It might be psychosomatic but I feel full ! Could it work that fast? I forgot to check my morning blood sugar but this is honestly the first time ever I have felt full only eating a small protein breakfast.
Awesome!
Same! I don’t think it’s psychosomatic. I am legit full. Can’t eat as much.
I sure do need your help
Isn’t is great how much info she (Dr Boz) puts online for free? I feel like she helps me every day!! 👏🏻🙏
Hi Dr.
So what do you eat pls
Is Glucose Control only for type 2 diabetics? I ordered GLP1. wondering which was best. I'm not diabetic as of yet.
I'm between keto & carnivore.
Can l ask were you low in bp and then swing high? May l ask what is your diet ? Has it chged and exercise?
So by taking akermansia, probiotics, does it reduces appetitd n therdby reduces blood glucose? Is randomised double blind clinicsl trial data available?
Did you watch the entire poscast? Colleen discusses these questions.
Perhaps Shawn Baker has all the required bacteria and these bacteria feed on products other than fiber?
Would love to see howxyour insulin change over the 14 days with the introduction of the new microbes. Great conversation!
Pommegranade stimulates akkermansia.
Stop all carbs/sugar/vegetables and fruit, seed oils and start eating eggs, butter, beef and bacon. Do that for 30 days. I'm sure it will help a lot more than some boa constrictors gut bacteria.
Its not necessarily your self-control, it's either your microbes or your hormones. Have you been tested for hypothyroidism?? Could be simple hormonal deficiency. If not that, check your nutrition. Vitamin D/K, iodine/selenium, rna drops, marine Omega 3s, AMPK activator.... All can help. ..
Dr Boz's ketones, MCTs.... Etc
Or candida. A good cleanse might help such as CCWS.
Natural desiccated thyroid meds (NDT) might help if you can't get a prescription or don't want to use synthetic thyroid, look up stop the thyroid madness ...
Or just eat keto/carnivore and see if it helps.... Healthy fats help...
Also consider Cushing's syndrome...
Pregnenolone, progesterone cream, DIM/estro block....

Dr. Boz, you say to get your nutrition in order to do this. Wouldn't it be a good experience to jump in and see if this helps you get on the road? If everyone could just nuckle this, a lot of us wouldn't be in this predicament.
maybe our grandparents had enough good microbiome to digest bread, pasta and many vegetables and our generation's microbiome is not good enough and we can only recover health by NOT eating bread, pasta and vegetables?
Those are the time when food used to be more natural then we have now unfortunately.. reason why we lost a lot of our good gut bacteria…
Dr boz I realize your a wealth of information but I would have loved to hear more from your guest about her knowledge.
Dr. Boz, is it easier for a person to make an anaerobic probiotic who has had a gastric bypass procedure?
Doesn't keto get you loosing hair? As female if l fast to long l loose more Hair....insulin resistance being told get fiber in ??? Which is it? But what about detoxing liver and gallbladder?

In one week taking “glucose control” with no other changes averaged daily glucose has increased every day. Weekly average jumped from 121 to 131.
Something is definitely going on - but it’s not good. Note: this is in a dirty carnivore,
I choke on pills. Have switched to powders or open capsules. I don’t suppose your products would work for me.
Try chicory inulin 2-3 scoops several times a day.
Polyphenols like herb teas?
I have to ask ... nutritionist or dietians go and learn about food ...why are they saying you don't have to minus the foods you balance them for better response???????? They go to school for years ??? WHOM TO BELIEVE?

Meat will work better than this stuff. Look up NIH study from May 24,2023 "A critical perspective on supplementation of Akkermansia".

Well we believed the scientist about covid too
Nope didn’t
No, we didn’t.
I mean... I believe big pharma talks a lot of nonsense and mostly has negative intentions ie only profit but what was wrong about it? COVID happened, it was passed thru respiration and contact.... Masks work and help when used... Just like basic handwashing.
This is just science.

Any other benefits? From people's comments this seems like marketing and bs.
@@Fresh_N_Fit I didn’t take her recommendation. I used an akkermansia probiotic created by the only people I know of who are able to keep it viable to the gut. So Colleen Cutliffe just lost me with fiber is necessary? I get that you google fiber and it will show up as important for our gut biome & production of neurotransmitters and in order to move your bowels. But this is simple not factual. Let’s note that a Carnivore ketogenic diet absolutely improves psychiatric illness, decreases secure activity, and on top of that we have tons of antidotal case histories of people who are Carnivore 5-10 years without a medical illness. We also have studies that fiber is in fact the cause of constipation. So I’m am not saying that the gut biome is not important but that this lady is researching from within the box of the medical establishment @ it’s control & her I formation must be taken as suspect. DR. Ginge The biome is down stream results of a good or bad diet.
These are less expensive than healthy trinity.

Zero results for me. I took this product on good faith that she knew what she was talking about. There is absolutely no research on her findings. That being said, Some things will work, and some things won't work. Be very clear when opening a video, I have no scientific research to back me up.
Yeah, no. I don't think she's a fiber believer.
