    My Gyno gave me Akkermansia in Feb 2024 . Had horrible gut issues. My Functional Med Dr. told me my priority needed to be to heal my gut and reduce inflammation.
    Lots of not good stuff was going on down there.
    Akkermansia’s healed me in 2 days…. I’ve taken lots of pre, and pro biotics with no noticeable result!!!! FYI wonderful

    So I’m a Chiropractic Nutritionist and I put patients on Keto and carnivore diets. The price of keto mojo, berberine, Gymnema and sometimes HRT or CGMs is already pushing budgets. This is going to have to work very well to flex tight budgets

      Don’t need the herbs etc
      Barely need ketones in a can

      @@YeshuaKingMessiah 100% agree. You shouldn't need gymnema+berberine+inositol(B8) if you're under 20g carbs/day and/or up your activity levels. Allulose is NOT cheap. Berberine is NOT cheap. Keto urine test strips are way cheaper if you need the data? Are people just trying to pay and pop pills to get healthier and industry trying to collect more money? 100%.

      As above, all that stuff is totally unnecessary - don't eat carbs, eat plenty of fatty meat, add a little veg if you really want but avoid oxalates. Job done. You don't need keto snacks or anything in a packet that says "keto" on it, and you don't need any supplements (unless initially you have specific symptoms and a specific tested deficiency).
      You definitely don't need a cgm unless you really have money to burn and you really love stats. If you aren't eating carbs then you are in ketosis, it's as simple as that.

    • @feebee5557
      @feebee5557 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@georgemoonman2830
      It's not that simple at all. You can eat almost no carbs and still not be in ketosis if you fat/protein ratios are off. Trust me, I know. I've been carnivore for over 2 years now and have to carefully monitor my ratios and eating Windows to get onto and stay in ketosis. Dr Bos also touches on this.
      Also, some people, no matter how good they eat, will need to supplement no matter what. I will always have to take methylated folate because I have the mthfr gene mutation. I also need to supplement creatine and glycine, even though I get plenty via food. That gene mutation will never heal and my body will always need help.
      Nothing is ever so simple it's just a matter of eliminating one macro to stain attain whatever it is you are trying to attain.

      Akkermansia muciniphila is known for its ability to degrade mucin, the glycoprotein component of mucus that lines the gut. This might sound harmful at first, but it actually serves several beneficial purposes:
      • Stimulating Mucus Production: By consuming mucin, Akkermansia encourages the production of more mucus by the gut cells. This process helps maintain a healthy and robust mucus layer, which serves as a protective barrier for the gut lining.
      • Balancing the Gut Microbiota: The degradation of mucin helps recycle the mucosal layer and promotes a balanced and diverse gut microbiota, which is crucial for overall gut health.
      2. Strengthening the Gut Barrier
      • Enhancing Tight Junctions: Akkermansia has been shown to promote the integrity of the gut barrier by enhancing the function of tight junctions, which are structures that seal the gaps between intestinal cells. This reduces the likelihood of gut permeability (“leaky gut”) and prevents harmful substances from entering the bloodstream.

    Hi Dr. Boz. Your topics are always so interesting. I struggle with insulin resistance, and now eat a mostly carnivore diet, keeping carbs under 20g, often just 0-5 g. I've been interested lately in Dr. Sean O'mara's discussions about ferments. According to him, they are loaded with probiotics, the fermenting process uses up the sugars so their 0 to low carb, and are great for your gut biome. Only a couple of tablespoons of fermented cabbage are necessary per day for all those amazing benefits. (too much more and one may spend too much time on the toilet!). He talks about and uses many other ferments, such a kefir, but I haven't gone that deep into it yet.

      Any diet/intervention that you "stop" once you've lost weight will have you falling back in to bad habits. The better idea is to find a fundamental lifestyle change that helps you stop poisoning yourself with sugar. Carnivore was it for me, I haven't had any cake/doughnuts/ice-cream for over a year. Was keto for 2 years before that and still couldn't resist doughnuts if someone waved them in my face, carnivore totally different story, doughnuts actually make me feel nauseous now.

    Question, if the bacteria is delivered in the gut where it needs to be and recolonizes then why would you need to keep a bottle in the fridge? I'm a Type 2 diabetic and this is speaking to exactly what I have been looking for. But this brings a question to mind, what is killing these bacteria in our bodies and how can we stop/prevent this from happening? Thank you in advance if you can respond.

    but beside that keeping the carbs as low as possible.
    * shredded navy beans + egg + ground beef ==> patties
    * monster salad with added beans
    * beef gulash with beans
    * massaman curry with beans instead of potatoe without rice
    ....
    and maybe cranberries too. maybe shredded and with greek yoghurt. everything low carb. also tofu has some significant amount of fiber. it could help to get the amount of protein per day up too.

This would probably eliminate the need for carnivore or keto diets, which essentially diets to eliminate and heal. I don’t think its healthy so starve one self regularly to be healthy.
    The micro biome may govern just about everything but educating and fixing that problem would cost the medical establishment trillions in revenue decline.

    Ok Dr. Boz I am going to give you a hard time. First keep asking questions? Are polyphenols necessary? Do they actually do what we are told and believe without questions? Antioxidants? Our own liver makes glutathione? So I would argue that polyphenols & other plant toxins might be useful in a medicinal way. But it seems that the body tries to remove these foreign particles as much as possible. I would agree that our diet could select over time our biome. But I am either De. Shawn Baker you don’t need fiber. We have been educated to eat it. I’m not surprised that the biome plays a role but let’s not forget that GLP-1 inhibitors are actually detrimental despite the biased science pushing them. Nothing we doctors prescribe as in medicines does better than a the normal body processes when working. Dr. Ginge

    I see no evidence that any probiotic supplement is superior in benefit to the inclusion of traditionally fermented vegetables, such as sauerkraut, in the diet. These traditional foods deliver critical inulin or FOS to the gut, which supports the proliferation of a healthy microbiome.

This year, I took their glucose control, and again, my bp went down to normal levels almost immediately, and stayed there. I have all the records. I get that you google fiber and it will show up as important for our gut biome & production of neurotransmitters and in order to move your bowels. But this is simple not factual. Let’s note that a Carnivore ketogenic diet absolutely improves psychiatric illness, decreases secure activity, and on top of that we have tons of antidotal case histories of people who are Carnivore 5-10 years without a medical illness. We also have studies that fiber is in fact the cause of constipation. So I’m am not saying that the gut biome is not important but that this lady is researching from within the box of the medical establishment @ it’s control & her I formation must be taken as suspect.
