These toilets are a bad design. They were made when American Standard was switching from 5 gallons to 3.5 gallons but instead of designing a new model, they simply put a 3.5 gallon tank on a 5 gallon bowl. Then they changed the bowl in 1983 to the Plebes we all know and love.
❤❤❤ awesome and love these round toilets of American Standards Plebe
Plebes are some of my favorite but I prefer the newer generation.
Awesome 2 1982 American Standard Plebe! #ObeythePlebe
For sure!
Gotta love the two adorable American Standard Plebe toilets, no modern tank toilet (not even a Niagra Stealth) can potentially outperform this toilet and has an amazing flush and bowl rinse that no modern tank toilet has. #ObeythePlebe
These blow modern toilets out of the water
Amazing plebes
I love Plebes
They may not be the "Golden Plebe Model" which was introduced in 1983 (the year I was born), however these 82 models which used an earlier 70's 5 Gal bowl with a 'then' new 3.5 Gal tank still seem to work fine and are interesting to see!
Yeah, those mid 80s ones were truly the best.
Awesome plebes here. Obey them. I like the 80s design of these
I love Plebes
The 1971 design of the Plebe bowl (round bowl only) continued until 1985.
They stopped making these in 1982.
Epic toilets!
Ikr!
The 1968-1980 variant used a 4049 tank, while the 1980-Early 1990s variant used a 4083 tank.
They switched tanks in 1982 and I think they were discontinued altogether in the early 90s
Amazing

Awesome toilets! And as always . . .

As always!
Still awesome to see. #obeytheplebe
Yeah!
That is a dirty siphon jet lol, anyways very awesome toilets
They got dirty from mineral buildup due to weak flushes.
I saw one of those at a Super 8 by Wyndham in Cheyenne, Wyoming
Sweet
A classic. #obeytheplebe
Definitely!
Our house was built in 1985 and the toilets are AMERICAN STANDARD PLEBE. I am afraid to buy anything more recent because I have heard the "new" EPA government approved toilets take multiple flushes to do one job. I am here only because I am looking for ideas for a bidet seat and I want to get the proper size for this older style toilet. So you say this has a five gallon bowl with a 3.5 gallon tank?
These have 5 gallon bowls but they were paired with 3.5 gallon tanks. You can still find many of these used and just replace modern ones if you get a newer house.
The Tushy brand bidet attachment works well on my Plebe American Standard toilet.
@@dollietwigg2397 Thank You. I was hoping someone would make a recommendation.
