Great interview. Mr Gupta has good stories very detailed.
A tall man with few parallels in the ultra competitive world of management consultancy, ultimately fell for man's most base foibles. It is a shame that despite his stellar credentials, the ghosts of the trial haunt him.. even in this interview.
Mr Gupta is just amazing and I can say that Mr Gupta's mind is without fear.
The thing that hit me was the prison guard putting him in solitary confinement for 7 weeks for using his towel as a back support! He should have sued that guy and brought him to his knees. It would serve a lesson to thousands of such people who does inhumane things to cornered people! 🙏
Bharkha One of your best stories. When you present positive stories you are so much more interesting. I believe that your guest should get two Nobel Prizes ie both medicine and peace .

I think the interviewer did a good job pushing Gupta to explain
7 weeks solitary confinement for insider training is cruel and unusual punishment, and the fact that no direct monetary benefit to Gupta was proven seems like a failure of the Justice system, I feel for this man and I hope that people like him can learn to avoid the way he was treated
Fantastic human being.
Good interview and no one can/should be judged off past mistakes. “Let he without sin cast the first stone” sit back listen and learn if you don’t like it move on.

It bothers me how Rajat Gupta keeps on saying he does not remember anything ....if he is really clean (and I am not making a judgement on whether he is clean or not), I think he would have been better off stating "I did not disclose any confidential information" instead of saying that he does not remember what he said !!!
Do not associate yourself with dishonest people. Move on. This was Gupta’s fatal flaw. When trust is broken, move on FAST.
Gupta knew without a doubt that Raj was a dishonest dealer. His greed got the best of him and he wasn’t able to cut Raj off.
@@ngalawena I don't think he is dishonest but he is not that kind of a person who can judge what is good and bad immediately. We indians are lazy.
Seems to be a good man who couldn't resist greed, but hasn't come to terms with his getting caught. Unfortunately, a man still very much in denial. He knows what he did, and so does the Justice Department. He lost his case and all subsequent appeals. Would have been the honorable thing to do to say "I'm sorry, I made a mistake, don't do what I did". But that was not to be. He writes a book, and talks about how innocent he is. He did the students at Booth School of Business, no favors ! Was that the message you want your students to take away ? Really ?

He remembers everything the day of the Berkshire announcement except whether he spoke to Raj despite calling him seconds after the Board meeting. What a scum bag lol
"What a scum bag lol?", yes, seems that is strange, possibly on the advise of his lawyer and he will have to maintain that for the rest of his life. FBI was recording every conversation of Raja Ratnam for years, what they have? Nothing of any substance, FBI offered plea bargain to Raja Ratnam, just to implicate Rajat Gupta, he refused. Raja Ratnam on record has stated the whole conversation, he stated that actual conversation between him and Rajat Gupta lasted for 16 seconds, rest of the time of 36 seconds between secretaries. According to Raja Ratnam, Rajat asked him about some of his investment, then Raja Ratnam mentioned that his source is informing him that Congress will pass the 'TARP', then Rajat said that will be good for Goldman Sachs. Ratnam was buying Goldman and other financial shares for weeks. FBI has no evidence of financial gain of Rajat Gupta from Ratnam. As Rajat mentioned that GS and other financial stocks was rising from 1pm, Market always knows or anticipate beforehand the important market events. Beside that, 'TARP' was discussed on TV channels thoroughly for weeks. This is all doing of another character of Indian origin, Preet Bharara, he also went after one Indian lady diplomat, on domestic help issue, his jeal to go against the prominent Indians was just to further his career, now he is on CNN giving rubbish against Trump. I wish Karma catches up with this 'Scum bag' sooner.
