He's been one of my dad's friends since high school, and my sister and I call him our uncle, cause he spent so much time with us and our dad when we were kids.
The 'Bark At The Moon' bit has to be one of the best things I've ever seen. Love the album, feel a lot of nostalgia with it and the cover, but even I've gotta admit that the cover is a little goofy. Couldn't imagine it any other way though lol
The Magical Mystery Tour cover always reminds me of this little ice cream shop I used to go to as a kid that unfortunately closed after about a year. I don't even remember the name of the place but it was so tackily decorated and colorful. RIP that.

No, it was much closer to Speed Metal than anything. You could connect it to U.S. Power Metal as it bares some similarities though. Still, in 1988, Power Metal was still not fully formed yet. The term "Power Metal" was used as a catch all term like how James Hetfield, back in the day, described Metallica as being Power Metal. I imagine Pantera did the same.
I just Realized something. That font for the band’s name on that Shinedown album, IT’S THE SAME ONE FROM THE TITLE CARD TO THE CLASSIC SPONGEBOB EPISODE “SAILOR MOUTH”! I mean, WOW.

I still think Five Finger Death Punch has pretty terrible art work (and neither edition of their last album helped.) I have to agree that many of these covers are pretty terrible, but I honestly don’t mind the cover art for Bark at the Moon

Power Metal is actually one of my favorite Pantera records, cheesy lyrics and all. But it's almost pure Judas Priest worship. Very little of it sounds "glam metal" to me.
Some of the stuff you claim to be "Small artists probably printing these themself" are actually huge artists. at 1:28 for example Heino used to be one of the biggest german Schlager singers and was very very popular with older people. He got insanely popular when he suddenly released an album with Schlager covers of Metal and rock songs which actually lead to him performing at Wacken Open Air, the biggest german metal festival...as a Schlager singer. EDIT: Wikipedia actually states that he's one of the most successful german musicians of all time, having sold over 50 Million records. While the pictured album wasn't a particularly successful one he in germany has one gold and one platinum album (the rock/metal one)
When I think of Neil Young it reminds me of this story my mom told me growing up where she was at one of the Crosby, Stills, Nash, and sometimes Young guy’s solo shows (I think it was Graham Nash, and he yelled at the audience not to sing along because he couldn’t hear himself sing.

I actually kinda like the cover for Us and Them. Not necessarily as an album cover, but if it were a book cover I probably probably would have read it in high school. It has intriguing atmosphere and appeals to the edgelord I used to fancy myself. It's not perfect, but the artstyle is pretty neat at least.

Before Hinder released their debut album in 2005, they made an EP in 2003 (people call it an EP, but it has a runtime of 50 minutes lol) called Far from Close. There are different versions of the cover floating around. The most popular one being just the band with the album title. But the original cover art... hoo boy, it sure is something. Let's just say someone had a field day with PhotoShop's Liquify tool...
