@@theawkwardflightattendant Oh i understand! But it also depends what airline, I was on my friends companion pass with united because he could put anyone he wanted. up until he got serious with his girlfriend. Companion is not the same as family member/spouse and wouldn't ask someone to put me down as a family member.
I am so glad I found your channel. Big question please: I want to get a job for one of the big airlines so I can travel the world for just about free. I also love the lounges like Amex. But I heard that Amex Centurion lounge requires that you have a boarding pass, but if you are on standby, does that mean you do not have a ticket until you get cleared for one, and if so, isn't that usually right before the plane boards. That doesn't give me much time to enjoy the lounge. Or am I missing something. Perhaps, you get some sort of pseudo pass so that you can enter the lounge. Or do you have to stay close to the gate before it boards or you might miss your name called on standby list. I don't know. Please help. Do other Priority Pass lounges allow non rev passengers? Thank you!
Great video! Your kitties probably miss you too! What do you do with them when you're gone? Do you have a house sitter or do your kitties go someowhere?
The SJO airport is the main airport for San José, that's why its airport code is SJO. If I said El Segundo Airport, would you know that I'm actually talking about LAX in Los Angeles? Because that's technically not in Los Angeles
@@theawkwardflightattendant weird how it works haha I'm from Costa Rica and from Alajuela and the airport is in Alajuela near to San José but not there , you're right the code is SJO for some unknown reason 😅 or I guess that as San José is our capital and we only have two airports it is better to say is SJO airport? Idk but great video though, I'm also studying to be flight attendant so new subscriber for sure 🫶🏻
We really like your new channel, it's nice seeing a "behind the scenes" of how FAs support customers and crew :) Q: It appears that you're in a new type of American Express-sponsored lounge, not a Centurion lounge, right?
Kelly, for the Hilton Amex card, do you need to have used that card for your airfare in order to use a lounge visit, and do you have to pay for your hotel stay with the card in order to get the breakfast benefit? Thanks for the great videos!
@@theawkwardflightattendant Thanks do much. We will apply for that using your link right away since they have bonus points right now! We're going on a Hawaii cruise in August and will spend a few nights at Hilton Hawaiian Village, and hopefully be able to use a lounge pass in Dallas on a long layover
That really depends on a bunch of factor, such as which airline it is, the route, the country's entry and/or exit taxes, etc. It can be just a few dollars or a couple hundred
Flight attendants love little sweet treats! I would say more for a larger plane, less for a smaller plane. There might be 2 flight attendants on a regional jet, or up to 20 on something like an A380!
I have a strange question. I am guessing it is a strange question because no one seems to be able to answer me. As a FA if you were at the airport stranded and the flights were cancelled (maybe you are snowed in somewhere) are you (as a member of the American Express Lounge, or any other number of paid membership Airport Clubs) allowed to pass your time there in the club you are a member of, rather than to hang out in the busy-ness and chaos of whatever terminal you are in? Or is it something you are not allowed to do while in uniform. I am not referring to sitting in the lounge vicinity where the cocktails are served, but rather where you can sit, pass time, plug in, check emails and just decompress with some quiet time? I hope you can answer this question. Thanks in Advance!
If there's 1 seat on the plane and it's between you and Kevin, does he get it as non-rev? Would he take the jump seat? Or he has to travel WITH you to be non-rev?
If there's one seat on the plane, I would get offered it first because when we list together, my name is first because it's in alphabetical order. But in that case, he wouldn't get on the flight so I would take the jumpseat so that he could get on. Only our flight attendants that are cabin jumpseat qualified are allowed to take extra jumpseasts.
If you are a non rev and you work for the airlines do the airlines flight attendants know your non rev do they know if you work for the airlines or not?
We're in the paperwork as being nonrevs, so if they check that they'll know, and also some people will either non rev in uniform or with their crew badges on to indicate that they're airline staff
Great vlog, Kelly. I believe you did the right thing in coming back when you did
Thanks Dean!
To anyone: 🔥🔥🔥*I WILL💯% TRADE MY MARRIOTT EMPLOYEE RATES FOR A COMPANION PASS!* 🔥🔥🔥 Lets make a deal! 😀😀
(I can even book it for you so you get my Titanium Status perks) 😁
Just know that anyone who takes you up on this violates the terms of flight benefits and can have them taken away easily

Usually either my dad or brother will come down to stay with them for a couple of nights at a time
Hi! Quick question,
How are you using the lounges if you’re flying standby?
We get a standby pass to be able to get through security, and we're able to use that for lounges
@@theawkwardflightattendant is this for any airline? Or specific to yours? Like all nonrevs receive this this standby pass?
Cousins bbq I had that when I passed through DFW on my way to Tallahassee not to bad for airport food lol
Just to say that the airport is in Alajuela not San José but for some reason for the foreigners they say it is in San José I never understood that 😂

Aw thanks for watching! I don't believe it was a Centurion Lounge, just a cobranded AmEx lounge of some kind

No for both! You just have to have the card. But I recommended using the card to pay for your Hilton hotel visits anyway to get the maximum points ☺️

I know you probably can’t show this but can you explain how you list yourself on a flight because I’m really confused
It's an employee portal I go to online, more or less just "booking" a flight but I don't pay anything and all it does is put us on the standby list.
@@theawkwardflightattendant thank you. Would ever do a video on this but blur out everything else so we don’t see the stuff we see.
I am a paper person so I always print the boarding pass. Can you tell us how much the non-rev travel costs, out of the States?

Sorry English not so good should we give chocolate to flight attendants so how much

While working you are not allowed in lounges. Our bases have crew rooms for this purpose if you happen to be at one of those airports
