Thank you Ecofiltro for gifting us a water filter and helping us improve the quality of our drinking water, while also reducing our plastic waste. We're very happy with it so far, our filtered water tastes great, and both us and our guests have enjoyed using it.
If you're curious to learn more about their beautifully designed and sustainable water filters head here: ecofiltroeurope.com/

Oh my gosh! Late last night after sharing your site to a few friends, I decided to try to comment on all of the preceding episodes we’ve enjoyed because Mark and I have so much discussion as we go from one to the next.
Revisiting the first episodes was a wonderful comparison!
We love how everything you’ve collected through your buildings is repurposed for another project.
Clever hanging of the window frames to dry!
What a great sense of humor from Iris’s Dad. We like those little unscripted moments.
    Thank you ~

I really enjoy your video vlog composition. It is peaceful to watch you both quietly work.
I love the instrumental music intermittently softly playing in the background.
A lot of TH-camrs seem to think you have to have loud music to fill in the silence.

Those little windows were made perfectly Bertus and Isis I love how you are experimenting with making your own paint and trying it vs shops paint, I too am very interested in this. Also seeing where you buy your pigmentation. When I lived in the Netherlands I did not know about 'Verfmolen de Kat' I know have learnt something else. I love your videos and you and Bertus make it seem effortless, though I know it is not, it is a lot of hard work. The views are stunning and at this moment I am jealous that you are in a lovely cool farm house. Here in the UK at last it is sweltering. So enjoy the 'Drone' video footage! I get lost in my thoughts of living in the area! Combining your property and your Neighbor / Farmer's property in a video ~ the different fields make up a very beautiful "Mosaic", that would do justice for a beautiful poster! Your 'cooking' is such a lovely segment in your videos, you might consider adding the recipe................... ? Bertus ~ Great workshop window frames! Idea ~ Very cost effective! Even though I have a large dust collection system in my shop, You may want to consider a shop vac that attaches to the chop-saw and is auto switched to run when the chop-saw runs. I really enjoy less dust! Best, D&S

Did you check or ask if there is a well on your property? Normally those old cascinas have their own wells with genuine clear water. At my grandmothers' house there was a cemented hole in the garden where you could get the water up with a bucket on a string and she had a hand pump in the cold kitchen to pump the water up. It was so good! In any case, Ecofiltro looks great - conceptually and esthetically!

I have read about putting a thin bead of silicone in window frame before laying in glass, to provide better insulation, wind and water proofing. It also adds to the resistance to breakage because the silicone is flexible. The glass won't rattle in frame that way as the wood shrinks a little at certain times of the year. Silicon is easy enough to remove from frame and glass should you need to replace the glass sometime in the future.

Love your videos. You probably have this on your list. Since you have more wooed working projects you need to ventilate that shop. I use sanders with and out put that I connect to hepa dust extractor that doubles as a shop vac. There are fancier systems. It is the fine dust that is very unhealthy. And stays in the air even if you use a respirator

Isis and Bertus…your vlogs are like eye candy. I love the aerial views and the flora and fauna closeups. Also, you employ just the right mix of active work and verbal narrative. Your music backgrounds are perfect. Some of the chateau and farm restoration channels I subscribe to seem to be all talk and hand waving. Very annoying! But you are definitely professionals in you filming and editing. Isis, your voice is very soothing. Bertus, you should smile more😁…. Love your hats!
You have left many clues in your videos as to your location in Alta Langhe in the Piemonte region of Italy without actually revealing your address. It took me several hours over the last month to finally locate you on Google Earth. I assume you don’t want to divulge your location at this time so I will not share it here. Since you are making many aspects of your life open to the public, consider sharing more information regarding your local community, it’s history, architecture and customs that you will slowly assimilate into. It will add some additional depth beyond the natural environment which you do such a fine job covering. Kudos to you and your channel🥰

Weer mooie video.

Tap water in Italy is safe and continuously monitored by the authorities

While many nations monitor drinking water quality, they only test for a limited amount of substances and add large amounts of chlorine.

@@LCamp-cr7fs I work for one of the many authorities that control the quality of water for human use in Italy. The tests we perform are numerous and scrupulous.

Of course it is safe by official standards - yet there is a lot of chlorine (which you can taste) and a lot of calcium inside (which you notice in your kettle etc), so we prefer filtered. 🙂

Authorities test water in Izmir, Turkey, yet the populace drinks bottled because the tap water tastes like 💩.

The more I look at that woodcraft hobby saw, the more I'm convinced that fence is on the wrong side of the blade.

Nope, thats the way it was meant. But yes, it is a not so good table saw. We've now upgraded.

Hey I just stumbled over your channel and i got addicted! Thank you so much for sharing this!
For how long can you use the eco filter before replacing the terracotta, or do you even have to replace/clean it? Thank you again! Lots of love from Germany! ❤

Thanks! We have been told we have to replace it about once a year.

I suppose you will be harvesting rain water instead of relying on tapwater? (I mean if you have to filter it anyways, skip the whole calcium/chlorine part)

Yes, we would love to, at least to flush toilets and water the garden, andsoforth. Not sure yet when we will get round to make it so.

Looking forward to see the smithy finished, too. Are you taking up your previous passion for armor ? =)

I am certain I will make some armour again at some point, but it will probably not be in the near future.
