What a sudden changed of outlook, from Iloilo to Capiz. We saw how you and Bianca have inspired many expats for choosing Iloilo City to be their new home or for just making the city part of their travel bucket list and we Ilonggos are glad and so thankful for it. We know your current situation and we understand. Take your time to relax... soon things will be better. Stay strong and safe Michael. Hugs!♥
I did this boat trip back in 2019…have several good pics/memories. I fell asleep while getting massaged and remember seeing the two different currents from the ocean hitting the brackish water plus those make shift bamboo pulleys…good times. Hope you are moving on well!
Hey Mike... I'm so happy you are in Roxas Capiz. We only get home every 2 years, so we only get updates on new venues like this, until we get home. Unfortunately family don't always give us too many details. LOL But, it's really great getting another perspective. We're hoping to go home to Ma-ayon Capiz later this year, so now we know a few new things happening in Roxas. Oh, I should tell you we have a fish pond near the Ferry Port. Anyway, have fun & hope to meet you some day.
This looks like a really interesting place! I’ll be going on another scouting trip to the Philippines soon because I have been looking for exactly what you have been describing with beach near amenities and have not had much luck so far. Places seem to be Tourist places that die off and are focused on island, hopping or scuba-diving. This place looks really cool, I’ll definitely put that on my itinerary! Thank you for the great video.
Another great video. Great info on areas to buy or rent done in a charming style. No other blogger does what you do even half as well as you. Keep it up you will be v successful there.
Always nice to be near the beach. Where I am in Bacong I am only 5 mins away from the ocean and so many beach areas going south from Dumaguete with lots of great places to live
We are sad you are leaving Iloilo City. But happy in a way you found friends to rely on…Don’t forget, when ever you are in Iloilo City, you can always stay with us. Pls note,we’re here in Iloilo November to May. We are your Canadian snow birds friends…
Why Capiz the beach is not good there because the sand is black. Although the people there is very friendly and kind but you can find a resort with white sand in other places to enjoy your stay there
its a good choice if u choose to live here mike..its a very peaceful place to stay and very accessible to everything and places nearby.😊 hello Airam the tour guide.🙂
I love to own a beach house, saving money for a small one in Pinas. Sleeping with the sounds of the wave and waking up seeing the waves. Freediving all day and eating non GMOs products. Take Care Man!❤
Hi, Michael and family. We just discovered your vlog and must say you've given us a different perspective of the opportunities of my mom's place- Roxas City. My cousin has happy memories of that beach, and I grew up hearing stories of my mom's town... occasionally visited it as well. Thank you for showing the place positively, respecting the people and the culture. I grew up in Manila but I want a less hectic life and moved to Cebu. Now I'm planning to move to Iloilo with a small town feel but because of work would still need to be near a city. (I understand you left Iloilo to be in Roxas). We'll surely drop by your bar once we get to visit Roxas again. Best of luck to you.
We lived on Panglao for 2 years and really enjoyed it. The water and brown out issues can be frustrating. We will be back after we do things in the Province of Davao de Oro.
Very nice and informative! Thank you Mike! Looks like its good to buy a lot accross the beach front property. Even a 200 sqm is great but best to have 3 story structure for the view and some how to avoid d carbon monoxide from the cars..it will help somehow along with very good windows to cut the noice from main road. That will be a very good home and airb&b...plus more elevated to avoid d rising global sea water. Excited for u! I love the vibe in this town Mike! This town loves u back too ❤

0:58 Yes.. If you go back to Dumaguete, you certainly should look at Dauin. 2:00 There are certain places that say that: Most say, Long Beach in San Vincente, Palawan.. in Cebu they say Lapyahan sa San Remigio, and so on.. Of course how do you define that.. In terms of beauty, Long Beach in Palawan have of course the whitest sand.. in terms of being able to built for a sane price at the waterfront, there might be another place.. the longest beach directly on a big city? maybe Roxas wins that.. but if the big building companies have bite their teeth into Roxas with a megaproject, then the prices will rise there also.. Right now, everywhere there are new developments, and the Philippines have one of the biggest growths in terms of economy in SE Asia.. So now is the right time to still find a good place somewhere for a good price..
Do you know any decent lawyers that could help with checking title work and possibly converting agriculture land to residential to build on some hectares, we are looking for land surrounding iloilo city up to 1.5 hours ...?
My sister's friend a retired military man from U. S. Came here in the Philippines. First in Mindanao but failed. Many attempts to find partner and at last found the one. He loves fishing and I told him choose a place that is far from metro Manila. I recommended him the Quezon province. An inland town but near or overlooking the sea area. Now he is in Pagbilao, Quezon. Near Lucena City with bay area and Port with access to Romblon island, marinduque island and masbate island and mindoro island. He loves fishing during weekend in bay area of Lucena or Pagbilao and nearby seaside towns.

That's really more of a hotel type condo, meant to rent out and have a place to start when in town. The capital building is being built right behind it now. One day soon these will be booked all the time
Great video as always .I’ve been to the Philippines many times as my wife is Phillipino (Met her in Montana) She’s from Iloilo .So we stay in the Richmond Hotel when we are there .That’s why I’m kinda interested as to whether you move to roxas or somewhere else outside Iloilo .We are considering buying a condo in Iloilo or property and building.I’ll be there this July for a couple weeks looking at different properties.Maybe I’ll see you there
Roxas City is my hometown and would never replace it to any place in the world. It maybe small but I am proud with the peace-loving, hospitable and God-loving people. For those who are wondering, Roxas City is the capital of Capiz Province and is known to be one of the cleanest and greenest cities in the country. It’s also known for its abundant marine life, receiving the label as the “Seafood Capital of the Philippines”. Furthermore, this bustling and thriving city are among the safest places you can visit in the country.
One thing I've always wondered... can you brush your teeth with the tap water? I know for the most part you can't drink tap water, but what about brushing your teeth? Or washing your dishes in it? Or cooking with tap water, like if you make pasta or something? And what about ice in your beverages? Do you have to ask if it was made from tap water? I was once in Tijuana Mex. and I was warned not to drink the tap water, which I didn't, but I DID brush my teeth with it, and ended up getting a nasty C. Difficile infection from inadvertently swallowing a couple drops of water.
It depends where you are in Boracay I tested the water and it was better than EPA standards in America, great drinking water, in Cebu the.lead content was too high...basically I use water service for brushing teeth. If in doubt I take the safe way
We live in Iloilo City 6 months each year… we fly to the tropics every fall, and go back to Canada in the spring. Yes, we brush our teeth with tap water, and rinse with mineral water. So far, we are ok…
Been to the mango festival and the dragon fruit festival and several resorts on the island it's just my past TH-cam channel. This channel is only since December 1. Will be there again soon
Looks spacious at the apartment but weird bedrooms how you go around that bed to make it, think personaly $150 k u.s. thats kinda expensive and the kitchen is nothing great 39:55
With plans to make Roxas another BGC..no different than big overpriced cities worldwide..Roxas will overdevelop and no longer be what you love. I guess this indicates you would live in BGC if there was a beach.
@@ThatPhilippinesLife the road that heads into the city. We spent several weekends up there scouting out places to live. We rode our motorcycle up there and if you keep riding down the beach road past that intersection the concrete finally ends I really also like Roxas over Iloilo. It has everything a big city has but has a small town vibe.
That 2 bedroom place looks great but not that cheap, I bought a 29 meter place in Iloilo megaworld for 3.2mln, it’s half the size and half the price. Roxas is much greener tho and it does look amazing
This is amazing can you tell me the building? I have someone now who would really love that. Everywhere it's more than double for the smallest offered by Megaworld currently. Even pre build are so expensive in festive walk.
@@ThatPhilippinesLife apologies, it’s not BY megaworld, it’s STYLES by SMDC, between SM mall and festive walk megaworld, but it’s perfect cos it’s gated in that busy area, and if ever I would jump out of my window I would land in that Korean town area just to show proximity.
@@ThatPhilippinesLife yes, panay island doesn't have good source of energy (electricity) cebu & bohol are tapping the toledo source, as well as, the leyte geothermal luzon is tapping the malampaya natural gas in palawan i heard, panay island will be tapping the largest hydroelectric company from mindanao and that it would cost billions of dollars to build the pipe
Low cost of living in the Philippines health care is good too when you look on a hospital that could offer more high tech medical equipment and health care facilities Welcoming people are everywhere living in the province is too good to be true it's peaceful apart from being away from noisy stressful lifestyle in the cities..life in the province is of slow phase kind of life yet more convenience safe and comfortable. Enjoy your stay . Visit places in northern luzon believe me it' can offer more amazing stuff too ..
Cool vid! new sub... This is very useful because I get tired of seeing the same 7-8 suggestions for places to live. If I get over there in a couple of years, I want to live within a 3-4 minute walk to a beautiful sandy swimming beach, but also with some urban amenities and services, and not all ate up with expats. A few, but not drowning in them... And I'll be able to comfortably budget 3k a month (U.S.) while still keeping 300 k in savings.
You can tell a Filipino joke when you introduce yourself. Tell the Filipino you’re meeting that your name is Michael, not “Michael Angot”, just Michael. The joke is the Filipino word “kulangot” (pronounced ku-la-ŋot) meaning booger. When someone says “may kulangot”, it means there’s a booger.
Also, topics that are offensive to Filipinos are something that disrespects the family or community. In western culture like the US, offensive topics are something that involves activities that should be private, hence the F word, S word, etc. Of course as a reminder, you shouldn’t tell the joke in a formal meeting. If you do tell the joke, they may start thinking that you’re more fluent in Filipino, so you can tell them that’s the only Filipino joke that you know.
@@adianbeat6701Well, the word kulangot is in Tagalog. I sort of westernized the joke. It’s from a knock knock joke. “Knock, knock. Who’s there? Michael. Michael who? Michael Angot.”

It has everything a big city has but has a small town vibe.
There also isn’t much the other way past the port. We rode quite a few kilometers past the port and didn’t find anything worth seeing or doing
That doctors got a great place to hang out the place is a diamond in the ruff
My filipina gf said Roxas gets hit by a lot of typhoons and it floods often there.
Compared to what area? It was a big conversation I've had and seems the same as other area around
Man i hope the sound of the tow boat was not as loud as it seemed during the video.
Will you go back in Iloilo for Dinagyang?
Romblon looks nice. Maybe Looc or San Fernando.
I enjoyed Looc also just missing the city aspect there for my check list
👍👍👍
There is a secret beach ib capiz its in culasi jamiz resört is nice
Thank you
What city is this?
Does anyone know what he uses for a camera and microphone. I have a TH-cam channel as t home and need an upgrade
How far is this from the Airport? 🇺🇸🇵🇭
That 50,000 condo looks good 👍
What’s the name of this place Mike in this vid?
Roxas city Capiz
Where are at ?
Why don’t you go to Batangas, it’s nice there, they have beaches there too in Lahia
Be around there soon
Try to check out the town of San Fernando City , San Juan LA UNION… in region 2 up north…
I'll be up in that area Ina month or two
That 2 bedroom place looks great but not that cheap, I bought a 29 meter place in Iloilo megaworld for 3.2mln, it’s half the size and half the price.
Roxas??
Check out Bukidnon in Mindanao.
*3 day black out in panay island*
that megacity plan in roxas maybe a pipe dream
3 days one time last year and 3 days one time this year too, good thing is heads are rolling over this right now
@@ThatPhilippinesLife
yes, panay island doesn't have good source of energy (electricity)
cebu & bohol are tapping the toledo source, as well as, the leyte geothermal
luzon is tapping the malampaya natural gas in palawan
i heard, panay island will be tapping the largest hydroelectric company from mindanao and that it would cost billions of dollars to build the pipe
Low cost of living in the Philippines health care is good too when you look on a hospital that could offer more high tech medical equipment and health care facilities
Welcoming people are everywhere living in the province is too good to be true it's peaceful apart from being away from noisy stressful lifestyle in the cities..life in the province is of slow phase kind of life yet more convenience safe and comfortable.
Enjoy your stay . Visit places in northern luzon believe me it' can offer more amazing stuff too ..
Looking forward to bring there soon
Looking forward sir Michael a traveller vlogger. .
Cool vid!
❤❤❤
I follow your channel Hope to see you ....ill be in Roxas City staying near Baybay beach end of Jan 2024
Invited back for something Feb 4th for a few days
Are you stating prices in US dollars? You had said 7,000 about one of the places.
Wait.... is this a common joke?
@@ThatPhilippinesLifeIt’s a common Filipino dad joke.
First time i heard 😊 maybe in part vizmin its a common joke ❤ haha
What is the name of Subdivision mike? Is that near to CPC engineering?
Not sure where CPC engineering is , I checked google.maps.ans none shown in Roxas..around what time in the video?
@@ThatPhilippinesLifeTwin heart subdivision location where? CPC engineering is before you reach airport at the right side going to baybay beach.
