There ya go! 35 years young is a perfect time to find a life partner. There should be local paddling groups too that would be a fun place to meet like minded folks
Great video, reminds me of my wife and I. I showed her the outdoor ropes 15 yrs ago and till this day we still won't rent a cabin or house. Just us two and our two boys roughing it out. Wish yall the best.
I am rewatching, you introduced us to the Frio and Caddo Lake last year. We're going to spend a few days next week at Garner State Park. Anywhere in particular we should go/not go?

Way to go Lisa look forward to seeing you in more videos.
Thank you, Loni! She's been enjoying all of the nice comments and will definitely be back for round 2 and beyond
Been wanting to do this for so long, hopefully I’ll be able to buy a kayak this summer and go out
Check the used market for good prices!
Beautiful! I wish you shared where you dropped and got off .
I don't recommend going right now because of the low flow! Put in point always depends on flow
@@GatewoodBrown Thanks!
My goodness, I need me a Lisa of my own! What an amazingly well done documentary of your journey. I appreciate it greatly. I just bought my first Kayak at 35 years old, and am looking forward to finding some great places to hit up here around Kansas. Easiest subscription choice of my life.
I like kayaking!
There ya go! 35 years young is a perfect time to find a life partner. There should be local paddling groups too that would be a fun place to meet like minded folks
Wow... !!! My best friend, It's always great. We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks
Wonderful! Thanks for stopping by
Spirits of high five was awesome and Lisa makes it greater
Thank you so much!
Great video, reminds me of my wife and I. I showed her the outdoor ropes 15 yrs ago and till this day we still won't rent a cabin or house. Just us two and our two boys roughing it out. Wish yall the best.
Thank you Steven! That’s the goal. You’re very fortunate to have been spending time outdoors with the family so often!
Still impressed every time. Excellent edit, music and story being told. Another one out of the park.
Thank you, Shane! It's a labor of love. Fortunately there was a lot to work with on this trip.
Nice trip, beautiful river. Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words!
Y'all are living the dream. Thanks for another awesome video!
Thank you ORR! I appreciate you tuning in.
I am rewatching, you introduced us to the Frio and Caddo Lake last year. We're going to spend a few days next week at Garner State Park. Anywhere in particular we should go/not go?
Have fun at garner! The water is low so be prepared for dragging basically along the whole stretch. But avoid the section of river at the high bridge crossing where garner starts. It’s super shallow there
Thanks for the response back! We really had enough of the water that we could take, for the age our kids are, the stretch of river that was navigable was plenty for us to get our fill. We're definitely hoping they get more rain and will be back again soon for more kayaking.
@@therobinsonfamilyadventure Wonderful! Glad everything worked out. When the Frio is flowing good its a world class river for family fun. Hasn't rained well in years though!
Wow, that looks absolutely stunning, living the dream!
Trying to! Haha
Wow....... I wish we had so crystal clear waters in the rivers here in Thailand. Looks fantastic. Dream like.
You may have some hiding in the hills! Plus your oceans are magnificent
Fantastic!!! Nice job Lisa!! You’re a natural!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! Lisa did awesome and really appreciated your comment!
Headed to Garner State Park on the Frio tomorrow! Best place in summer!
Have fun!
Wow that looks beautiful!
It really is!
Great fall trip, getting out there is what it is all about. Lisa did great and two times a year is awesome. Gives you plenty of time to choose the river .
Nice video GB
Thanks Jeff! Two times a year is perfect for me. Still leaves time to take guys trips that are a bit more intense! Haha
Family and Memories! That's all that matters....good job, mate!
That’s the truth right there!
Been a family tradition of ours for well over 50
Years! Now I get to take my girls for the first time this year… absolutely my favorite place in the world!
It’s an amazing spot for sure!
Lisa did such a great job!! Keep it up with the great content!! I hope me and my bf go kayaking one day here too!!
Thanks for the kind words! I’ll be sure to pass your comment along, lisa always loves reading them. Y’all will have fun!
Woww, amazing footage and lovely relationship. The music & way you speak about the adventure at the end is dopee. Love tht follow up about your experience from you and your girl. Super cool content bro
Thank you so much! I'll be sure to pass the kind words on to Lisa, she always enjoys hearing these comments. Such a wonderful experience indeed, time to get her out there again!
Great job Lisa! You did awesome!
Both y’all killed it my friends!
How is it that the water is so amazingly beautiful and colorful?
Thank you so much! I’ll pass those kind words on to Lisa as well. River is spring fed and rock bottom which is a great combo for clear water!
Wow. That water. Nice one from the both of you.
Thank you wan! I appreciate the kind words
Owww I love this adventure
Thank you!
@@GatewoodBrown you are incredible
I appreciate that!
Great video! I love the Frio - grew up camping here every summer, and now take my family. Hoping to plan a surprise kayaking trip for me and my hubby somewhere in Texas soon - do you have any good resources for kayak "trails"? Drop ins/pick ups/campsites? Any cool resources for planning would be appreciated, thanks!
Thank you so much christy! The Frio is fantastic and I’m jealous you grew up going there. It’s magical! What part of Texas do you live in?
@@GatewoodBrown it really is magical! I grew up in West Texas (which is what made Texas river EXTRA magical) but now am grateful to call the Hill country "home" -- I started this TH-cam journey watching your trip to Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend - considering that for a trip as well. But open to any guidance you might have for an overnight kayaking trip in general. We're experienced campers and amateur kayakers, but would love to marry the two. Thanks!
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!! The views r breathtaking.... I hope heaven looks like that! Thanks for taking time out of your day to post these videos, god bless u brother!
Thank you, Drew! The views are unreal out there. Have a great holiday season!
The Frio is Heaven on Earth.
Wow...such a nice place...you can't get any better than this.
That’s the truth!!
"Winner Winner Chicken Dinner", Lisa said she will go again!
I myself love it when the wife goes camping with me!
They’re special moments for sure!
First adventure I took my wife on was an overnight backpack in Smokey Mountain NP. It started raining when we reached the campsite. Torrential downpour all night. Tent leaked. Woke up in water. Finally packed up in the rain and hiked out. Didn't stop raining for two days hahaha. She never went backpacking again. But loves day trips hiking and paddling.
Hey James! That sounds like a disaster! rain can move in and ruin an experience pretty quick. Day trips are still a blast so I'm glad you both get out on those.
Props to both of you on the awesome adventure you have uploaded. Great content and video work, taking us on the ride with you. I will definitely have to subscribe
Thank you so much!
I must visit this place. Thank you for posting.
It’s amazing!
You deserve so much more attention for this channel
Thank you so much!
I was thinking the same thing! Very cinematic with amazing narration 👏🏽 well done you two, can't wait to take my girlfriend on a trip like this
That place is incredible! Lisa, you looked like a seasoned pro. Hope you both get out there and do that kind of stuff often. Not everyday that a guy gets lucky enough to find a woman who is willing to rough it a little sometimes in order to have a great time.
Thanks for the kind words Greg! That made Lisa’s day to hear the compliments. Definitely fortunate she chooses to join me on a couple trips a year!
That was awesome!! Good job Lisa! I can’t wait for when I move to Texas and experience the Frio! 😁😁👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you! I’ll be sure to pass the kind words on to lisa!
Subscribed! Great video. Really captured the beauty, emotion and adventure. Been wanting to take the family out there. Your video is making me want to go there even more. Well done! And happy Lisa enjoyed it!
Thank you so much! It’s a wonderful place for a family too, especially during summer. Kids love playing in the river!
@@GatewoodBrown Congrats on getting hitched! Just saw the more recent video!
@@GatewoodBrown Have you ever used an inflatable kayak? Any thoughts? Was thinking about picking up a two seater to take the 5 year old kayaking.
Oh man, I really miss kayaking! I just stumbled across your channel. Oh to be young again!
Thank you so much!
Always enjoying the videos. Inspiring many to get out on the river. Thanks!
Thank you garret! That’s the goal. It’s always fun running into folks out kayaking
Where do you start & where do you end up? I’ve paddled the frio but just in Garner
Very nice, sir. You're making miss San Antonio and doing my hometown proud. Fortunately, I've got my replacement paradise here in Japan. Keep making videos and I'll keep watching.
SATX is close to some very unique landscapes! Japan I’ve heard is wonderful
