    1. Lower sodium diet (esp canned meats)
    2. Wild fish oil/Flax oil) Essential Fatty Acids
    3. Coenzyme Q 10 for heart muscle strength
    4. Diuretic like Dandelion Leaf tea (helps replace some potassium)
    5. Nettle (helps replace some magnesium)

      My 12-year-old chihuahua has a PDA which has resulted in moderate pulmonary hypertension. She is at risk for progressive pulmonary
      hypertension and shunt reversal. Her ECHO result suggested that she takes sildenafil 5mg TID, and Vetmedin 0.625mg BID; and it's also recommended that we have a
      consultation with a surgeon or interventional cardiologist to discuss PDA ligation/occlusion. The surgery isn't an option for me due to her age and our financial situation. Doctor Jones, would you please kindly recommend some helpful supplements and tips for my baby? Is the above list also helpful for my baby's kind of heart disease? Thank you so much.

    My little Maltese had heart worm and suddenly one evening she let out a loud scream and collapsed on the ground, breathing quickly and shallowly, she slowed drifted off into unconsciousness, and died a few minutes later. I was not there to witness it, and I’m glad I wasn’t cause I would’ve been traumatized. She was the sweetest and I miss her very much. RIP Maisey Lou January 18, 2011 - April 12, 2021.

    My dog has early signs of heart disease but not heart failure yet, she’s a chihuahua, she doesn’t have fluid in or lungs or any symptoms though other than an enlarged heart and murmurs on both sides.
    She’s acting completely normal though, fully energetic and no coughing or anything. I’m overhauling her diet and lifestyle to help extend her life for many more years.

    I've gone to several vets over the years and they've all misdiagnosed my 10 year old Terrier until I actually detected it myself, took it to a new vet and it was confirmed. All of those delayed years could have caught this earlier. I guess I just trusted vets so much that I respected their expertise. It just makes me so sad I could cry.

      My dogs vet screwed up my dog for two years by not testing him for Cushing. Went to three specialist an 4000.00 later finally got a diagnosis. The meds for it’s expensive and kinda dangerous. I’m ordering adrenal gold and going to try that first. I have the meds for him from the vet but I’m scared to give them.

    we met with Chuys cardiologist Emily Chapel at access specialty animal hospital. The last two days have been difficult and hard for me to express and find the words. So I just wanted to spend some alone time with my Chuy. Chuys cardiologist Emily Chapel was so kind and sensitive with letting me know what to expect from here on out with Chuy. She found that chuy has two heart problems, he has Dilated cardiomyopathy and Mitral valve dysplasia 🙏🏼 which means he was born with a poor heart. They found that He’s had heart disease for months if not years. 💔 and the changes to the mitral valve have been present for years. Based on the radiographs and Chuys examination Chuy did in fact have congestive heart failure. Sadly, there is no cure for dilated cardiomyopathy or mitral valve dysplasia and medications are needed long term to control their symptoms. This was the hard part to hear, once dogs develop congestive heart failure the median survival for these dogs is roughly 1 to 2 years on medications. She prescribed Chuy a higher dose of furosemide. The last two days Chuys been adjusting to a higher dose and showing signs of fatigue. In time he will struggle. This news is hard to accept but I have to remain strong for him. And treasure every moment I have with him. He’s a strong warrior for 5 years his heart has survived and I’m praying and hoping he’ll make it to 6 years or 7. I’m in deep peace he’s taken care of and comfortable. I have done everything I can. he’s loved so much. But please he’s been looking so weak 😢 please is there anything else I can do for him

    A vet usually first notices a heart murmur during a routine check up, when that happened we decided to take my dog to see a specialist veterinary Cardiologist. From there he had echocardiograms, blood pressure monitoring etc.. A dog's murmur is staged, from 1 to 6 (I think).....there can be a long, long time (years) between murmur from early MVD (Mitral Valve Disease) to Heart Failure & then Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) neither of the last two may ever even occur, the dog may die of other causes. However, some dogs progress very quickly, sadly, especially King Charles Cavalier Spaniels. The cardio vet must check your dog regularly & at each stage (your dog will need yearly or possibly 6 monthly checkups later on) for medication changes & additions as it progresses (the drugs used to control this are varied depending on how fast or how slowly it's progressing - each drug is introduced gradually) done by a Veterinary cardiologist. There are supplements that can help - Omega 3 Fish Oil capsules (not salmon oil) is most important, but also helpful are: Ubiquinol, D-Ribose, L-Arganine, Green Lipped Mussel, Propionyl L-Carnitine, vitamin C, (please look at supplements yourselves) but do tell your dog's cardio vet what you're planning on giving your dog too! X Hope this helps.

      In what dosage for each?

    • @Secret-sw8ih
      @Secret-sw8ih ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Faithful2410 carnitine & taurine can be found in cardiocare/heart food (my dog has a veterinary heart food, either from Purina or Royal Canin cardiac. The Omega 3 might be in the food too, or you can buy gel capsules. The rest .. dosages should be on the jars/bottles depending on the size of your dog or cat but make sure they are veterinary supplements. The most important thing for us has been Vetmedin (Pimobendan) & renal or heart food, or at the very least, senior food (the salt content is a lot less etc). Toto our Yorkie is doing very well just on the Vetmedin only at the moment.

    • @Secret-sw8ih
      @Secret-sw8ih ปีที่แล้ว

Ughh I am so at a loss . The doctor of course discouraged the use of my herbal supplement. I’m just so stuck as to what to do. There are such high testimony’s for the herbal supp I have. I am going to give the coenzyme Q10
      to her . Since it’s more of a supplement than an herb . I’d really like to just stop all her drugs and go the natural route completely. The vet just has us very nervous about doing so. I hope your furbaby is doing well

I want to start her on dandelion leaf but I want to know if I continue same dosage of Furosemide she's currently on. I've been so two cardiologist, internal medicine, and different vets and nobody is helping me with fluid retention.

    Can an enlarged heart cause front leg swelling? My Italian greyhound has a heart murmur the vet said stage 5, she’s 14. She got a swollen left elbow a few weeks ago and now it’s spread to the left leg.
    The vet said she sprained her elbow and it has a weird click sound but she’s walking ok except now for the swelling. X-rays and blood work were clear.
    They gave me 2 pain meds.. she’s been on for 2 days.. nothing has changed. Can it be her heart? The enlarged larger could be seen in the X-ray .. thank you!! Want to help my precious puppy! ♥️🐶💞🙏🏻🥲

      I think you have to buy the webinar but our 18 year old used cbd and she did not need the whole dose bevause she was 18...like older people. She also used reishi, cordyceps and turkey tail mushroom extract and essiac tea (the 4 herb version from us or starwest) all of ours are health food eaters and that they got older, cooked food too. Ideas for you might be on "sunnys liver diet" page, sunny has gone, but her owner left their story up for others as they had good success too

Her heart is enlarged and she had fluid on her lungs, but I'm hoping with careful monitoring of diet, activity, and seeing a specialist we can do something (our vet did give us medication for the blood pressure and the fluid). I purchased powder to add benefits to her homemade food (we already put Salmon Oil in her food) but will add some of these as well.Thank you.
