This is why I hated rugby at school man, I honestly see no way to tackle someone that won't hurt you lmao. I used to love having the ball, never got hurt, enjoyed every second of it. Defensively I spent the whole time hoping no one with the ball came near me!
@ruthio1 yes the game was in 2000 australia vs new zealand. u may think he's a legend & lomu may have scored tries but he gave away as many tries too. in that same very game australia scored 3 times on his side of the field. something that lomu was too scared to do was tackle. tuilagi however is a brick wall as u can see from his videos. tackling & defensive tactics was something lomu wasnt good at. he'd get an occasional tackle here & there but he missed too many tackles unlike tuilagi.
How wrong does Barnes get the commentary? I remember at the time thinking it was nonsense that Tuilagi had gone over to check Horgan was alright. Great clip.
One question. How on earth does the commentator now that it was a sympathetic touch, he wasn't stood next to him when Tuilagi said the words it could've been something complety different.
That’s how the islanders roll. Knock you over with a big old smile and just take a sec to see all good. 5 mins later they do it again. They love it all day long
@ruthio1 if you watch jonah lomu's videos the only people who knew how to tackle lomu were the pacific islanders. the europeans were taught in their training to tackle high on lomu and we all know where that got them. but the islanders tackled him low around the waist and locked onto his legs. it took a couple of years for the europeans to understand that. if they both ran at each other it would be tuilagi based on his solid strength and natural atheletism.
He'll be Samoan when he does something bad but English when he does something good reminds, me of andy murray, your mentality as your reputation goes before you.
@ruthio1 He Stood out more because the players werent trained in academies and schools where rugby is the main agenda in the 90s nowadays there are rugby schools and academies which teach tackling and how to bring down big guys like Tuilagi. But I have to say Alesana even said that his hero was Jonah Lomu.
@ScottCoops1 again id have to disagree lomu was playing in the 90 s and in the early 2000sand people havnt really got that much bigger since 2002 if he was from the 70s id say yea rugby players were different then but h was stuill playing less than 10 years ago
@ruthio1 they might have been just as big, but they weren't as athletic, you're talking about a time where the game had only just turned professional. There a so many modern players that are just as, if not more powerful than Jonah Lomu was. He just played in a different era, therefore he stood out more.
Probably not, because he didn’t. That tackle takes place with Tuilagi standing out on on the wing. Can’t see who the actual ball carrier is, but it’s not Tuilagi. But yeah, decent effort to drag himself up and join in the defence, even if he did practically finish himself off in the process!
Its funny how Alesana Tuilagi and Jonah Lomu played and earned money from it..while others fight over who is best..Jonah Lomu is a legend..Tuilagi said that to..but Tuilagi also said he doesnt want to be like him...he just wants to do his best and make his people (Samoan and fans) proud..Jonah Lomu gets pist off easily..when New Zealand and Samoa played in the 90s he got tackled by Brian Lima one on one and got pist thus hes game was off..Alesana Tuilagi also makes mistakes..chill out peeps..:)
@ruthio1 Lomu was so destructive because he was so much bigger than everyone else..... In modern rugby people would now be able to more equally match him. Look at the size of the guys that used to try and tackle Lomu compared to players now...
@MrsIce100 id like to disagree respectfully of course lol but the clip where i think hes playing for the chiefs and he tackles someone out of there skin lol if i had to pick lomu or tuilagi id have to go with lomu and i say at loeast 90 per cent of people would agree with me but tuilagi is one hell of a player and i respect ur decision
@ruthio1 so you dont remember little george gregan tackling jonah lomu like he was nothing back in 2000? lol. and the fact that the south african teams in the 95 world cup final who practically took him out of touch with a simple one on one tackle was nothing? lol. he got smashed by south africans Japie Mulder,Os du Randt and Joost van der Westhuizen if i rmember correctly. they all tackled him low around the thighs. this is something europeans arent good at hence his dominance over them.
Brave. Very brave ahahah. The age old question, would you let mike Tyson upper cut you for x amount of money? Let ray williams tackle you coming across the middle? Try and tackle alesani on a kickoff? No thanks
@OZZYSCRACKMEUP lol like nothing lol show me that and i ll believe it. And have u ever watched that game yea they did well against him but it was always 2 or three guys thats how they stopped him. U cant make out that southern hemisphere teams could tackle him better some of his best tries was him running in against south african super 12 teams. Ur whole argument is based on a game when Lomu was 19 as he got older he was destroying everybody regardless of what country they are from
@OZZYSCRACKMEUP ok for one ive seen videos of Lomu throwing fijians around for fun ive also seen him giving tana umaga the big hand off so nobody could tackle him. To be fair im european and we are not taught to tackle big people high its always go low, and to be fair mike catt tried going low once and he got absolutely smashed and he played up to 2006. Also have u seen the video of tuilagi getting smashed by hernandez that just would not happen to Lomu. Lomu for the win
If Alesana Tuilagi ever pointed at me while giving me that slasher smile, I would ask the coach to sub me off.
nah mate just wear a g sstring and run naked
Lol
He went over to say you ok mate? Nah he went over to say "I told you I'd get you"
He so did...
😂😂😂
Whose the Bitch now Boah? Haahahahahahahahah. Man that gotta have hurt huh?
100% , Stuart Barnes just used to talk so much crap
lesson: do NOT piss off a massive samoan
0:40 the guy who gives tuilagi the ball clears the ruck and gets an elbow in. My man
He's Samoan, most will check that you're okay, they will hit you hard but they will always leave it at that.
Tuilagi: " are you alright? "
Horgan: " -------------"
Bruh what if Tuilagi said "Don fk wit me" when he tapped his back lol
Points at Horgan: "You're next bitch"
This is why I hated rugby at school man, I honestly see no way to tackle someone that won't hurt you lmao. I used to love having the ball, never got hurt, enjoyed every second of it. Defensively I spent the whole time hoping no one with the ball came near me!
Same with me. I ended up breaking my arm then quitting.
Very naive from Stuart Barnes to come out with that rubbish! It was retribution pure and simple!
Tuilagi run to him and said oi kalofae are you ok mate ,that's how I push people like the way you pushed me 🤣🤣
After all these years I just only found out he whispered in his ear & said "KEFE" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@ruthio1 yes the game was in 2000 australia vs new zealand. u may think he's a legend & lomu may have scored tries but he gave away as many tries too. in that same very game australia scored 3 times on his side of the field. something that lomu was too scared to do was tackle. tuilagi however is a brick wall as u can see from his videos. tackling & defensive tactics was something lomu wasnt good at. he'd get an occasional tackle here & there but he missed too many tackles unlike tuilagi.
show of concern my gowl, more like "thats for shouldering off the ball ouside the pitch you dooopeee"
He didn't want to admit the obvious...that Horgan just got an ass-whoop'n for being cheeky....
stuart Barnes actually didn't know, he was a great rugby player, but on commentary he just makes up any random conclusions he feels like making
Horgan was one of the few players to take down Jonah one on one. So he did have the pedigree. Just wasnt his day.
0.42 "I told you palagi, don't fcuk with me!! BOOYAH!!!
That’s how the islanders roll.
Knock you over with a big old smile and just take a sec to see all good.
5 mins later they do it again.
They love it all day long

He didn't say are you alright, he said i told you I'd get you.
you alright son ?
Tuilagi runs over "unluggy uce" lol
@taweraster yeh, but there are alot more super rugby matches than heineken cup matchs, super rugby is more like a league.
0:24 "You I'm going to fucking kill you!"
1:41 "Told ya so!"
@jackalan88 No actually they don't, the attendance overall in the Super 15 was double that of the Heineken Cup.
Tuilagi to Horgan : "aaaah.. excuse me, excuse me, You Got Knocked The Fcuk Out"
He'll be Samoan when he does something bad but English when he does something good reminds, me of andy murray, your mentality as your reputation goes before you.
lol foreal
Didn't see anyone doing anything bad...
@ruthio1 He Stood out more because the players werent trained in academies and schools where rugby is the main agenda in the 90s nowadays there are rugby schools and academies which teach tackling and how to bring down big guys like Tuilagi. 0:26 "oh ill get you back dont worry"
He went over to tell him Rookie Mistake never do a poly greasy in a rugby match😎
tualagi didn't cheak if he was alright he went over and said i told ya i will get ya soon
Tuilagi was just making sure that he had hit horgan hard enough ;)
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@Johnnah25 i hope they dont choke like they did in the tri nations final a month ago.
Mans said “kefe”
@ruthio1 running wise Lomu was the man but he couldn't tackle to save himself
@Scarfman300 The attendance average is still higher.
@kingtupuhbkpetaia of course but i was getting taught how to tackle in 1994 and i was 8.
1:52 organ:"oh lord......"
“Why the fuck did I shove him?”
Is no one gonna talk about how Horgan got back up and made a good hit on Tuilagi? Dude’s pretty tough himself.
Probably not, because he didn’t. That tackle takes place with Tuilagi standing out on on the wing. Can’t see who the actual ball carrier is, but it’s not Tuilagi.

Never seen this comparison.
@91truffles i sorry but i disagree if lomu ran into tuilagi at any time i think theres only gona be one winner thats jonah
@ruthio1 Lomu was so destructive because he was so much bigger than everyone else..... In modern rugby people would now be able to more equally match him. Look at the size of the guys that used to try and tackle Lomu compared to players now...
I think Tuilagi told him that there was more to come............lol
nek minite
@ScottCoops1 yh look at the size of martyn johnson, he's massive, and lomu ran pretty much straight over him
@MrsIce100 id like to disagree respectfully of course lol but the clip where i think hes playing for the chiefs and he tackles someone out of there skin lol if i had to pick lomu or tuilagi id have to go with lomu and i say at loeast 90 per cent of people would agree with me but tuilagi is one hell of a player and i respect ur decision

Shane hogan looks like a woman giving birth. Thankx tuilagi!!!!!!! hahaha
Silly Palagi
Hahah Samoan smash em bro!!!!!!!
He is just projecting his own thought process onto Tuilagi, a show of complete lack of professionalism in reporting. Very bad.
Hahaha what a naive commentator....
Horgan worst winger in the world. Never knew how he gets to play for Ireland 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Have you actually watched Shane Horgan play? Or are you just basing his entire ability off of this one video?
Tuilagi's the man!! He's like Jonah Lomu but...better lol
Yeah
😂hahahaha😂🖕😂😂
Show of compassion bwahahahaha.... clearly you don't know how islanders serve karma
People in the northern hemisphere serve karma by actually winning the match. 👍
