Dude the game has one of the best stories ever told, the scariest thing about the game is not the gameplay... it's the existential horror of the story. If you hate jumpscares then just play it on the easiest difficulty, and turn the brightness on to the max, but pleaaaaaaaaase play the game. It's really reaaaaaally a master piece when it comes to story telling.
Just like @@trickstergaming5293 says, go for the Safe Mode from the main menu and you should be good. It's worth for the story. Also, quite a unique offense, never heard "chickenshit" before. :p
I wonder if the wonky movement of proxies is caused by simon's camera malfunctioning. They just look abnormally fast/slow in a given instant because of lag causing video feed to become compressed/stretched out.
@@amnesiaPUZZLES playing always makes it worse aha. Also for the first enemy encounter why do you turn the valve? I dont recall having to do that when I was playinh but when i look at some other people, they seem to do it also. Unless its just a hard mode feature
IIRC the valve controls the steam flow up the stairs. These people that go upstairs without turning the valve, do they have the steam that burns them on their way up? Also, by saying it was worse for me, I simply meant that people watching the video have this element of surprise, they "only" get scared; while I stood there, confused as to where the Proxy was and unsure whether to run or not. XD
@@amnesiaPUZZLES there's the steam at the stairs but never killed me but did damage of course. I just couldn't remember turning the valve on my playthrough and somehow thought it was connected to the robot managing to get upstairs since he didn't come up on my playthrough. Looking at playthroughs now, i just guess it was the water flow switch or something, though I'm not sure how important that is either if it lets the robot upstairs or not
Yeah, the steam does damage you a bit, it's not a one-hit kill, and that valve is indeed connected to the steam. The Construct will go upstairs if you choose to pull the lever in that next room that causes a power cut (?) If you choose to torture Carl, the Construct won't show up
Albert yeah like the huge door at theta right before the dunbat room that’s covered in structure gel. I always hear proxies behind that door and I think you can see them sometimes.

I can’t believe you out ran that proxy, especially more than once. I never had to on normal mode but on the wikia it straight says they run faster than you so don’t even try to run or something like that lol.
What do you think. A prequel for SOMA or a sequel for SOMA ? (I think a prequel would be better because I realy want to see who built the first Simon copy in upsilon.)

Yeah I understand your Idea behind a Sequel. But haven't you thought about what you just said? How do Machines or "resurrected" people repopulate the Earth or Fix the Surface? Thats far fetched, I have to say.
Ugh, I didn't expect the video would get _published_ like a new video, i.e. notifying subscribers and such. Simply wanted to make it public to let it be on the channel. Now everyone sees it on their Main page, dammit...
I do, but I thought publishing an old video would make it published with the older date and not now; second of all, this is a longer version of the same one I already released, it's pretty much the same, and looks like I'm doubling the content, but whatever
Oh no, I think this video is more in-depth than the one prior by showing some uncut footage. People may appreciate this video more than the prior one you made. I love your content, keep it up :) ^^ Oh! You should totally do some Penumbra videos sometime; those are a great classic to sometimes revisit
Penumbra is a classic, indeed, I may record it one day for this channel ;) Do you have an idea for a challenge that would make a walkthrough more interesting? Something like _no flashlight no glowstick_ wouldn't make much sense as Philip doesn't lose sanity due to darkness, and I'm out of ideas. Speedrunning isn't really my thing. And thanks! Glad to hear that, I thought it would be more boring to watch for most users, hence decided to keep it private and recut the footage again

I don't get it. The flesher according to the dedicated wiki states that it's blind but also says that if you stare at it, it'll get angry. So if it is blind then how will it know when being started at?
Construct scared me the most, but rather due to the fact it was first and I was surprised of the AI rework. It switched to full sprint pretty quickly, and would venture far looking for me when alerted. Seeing how revamped the AI was, I became more cautious towards later enemies and they weren't this surprising, I knew what to expect. Hardest, Proxy at Mainframe, it was hilarious at first but then became a little frustrating as he would approach me despite me being as quiet as possible, so I was glad when I finally restarted the server/mainframe thing Also, Flesher. Didn't allow for a single mistake...
So for the Power Suit Monster you just have to circle the whole place until the vault door opens? I’ve been struggling with it. Also laughed when you taunted or tried to agitate the Robot Girl cause I did the same lmao.
You don't have to circle the place, you just have to go through the vault door. ^^ which takes a while to open, and the Power Suit Monster will catch up with you if you just keep standing there. And you don't want that ^^

@@amnesiaPUZZLES I will, we both know it's the best psyco-horror game of all time (: seriously this kind of Sci-Fi horrors are the most breathtaking! At least in my case, I'm shaking just while thinking to open this game after 5 years... Hard Yoshida & Akers AI seems sentient wtf!? U made me remember my worst mental scares ever on a game, but can't resist after this videooo 😂😂 much love from Italy (excuse my low english).
Post-Scriptum: besides the horrors that you must face through all this... I agree with you: the story it's so well packed that still makes me feel goosebumps and deep thinking... o.0 timeless stuff!!
There is also observer !!!!
bro holy shit thats the exact reason why i deleted soma too. i couldnt get any damn peace at night around this game
19:00 That was the biggest scare of my entire life...
Bloody hell, those proxies are right units xD
I cried at 39:45 That made me laugh so hard.
19:00 made me shit my intestines
:( Dammit, it'll be hard to put them all back in together :((
Hopefully your colon is still intact LOL
I will never in a million years play this game because I'm a chickenshit 🐓💩, but this is super fun to watch, so thanks! Lol.
18:56 scared the fuck out of me
Same
That's why she paused it. Freaked her the fuck out as well
@@tiagoviana263 amnesiaPuzzles is a "she?"
The first minute gave me a heart attack. Holy hell
You nearly died on the third flesher encounter. Probably would have made you so rage you'd have thrown your computer out the window.
It's already seen the outside...
I wonder if the wonky movement of proxies is caused by simon's camera malfunctioning. They just look abnormally fast/slow in a given instant because of lag causing video feed to become compressed/stretched out.
That's an interesting theory, actually
19:00 scared the fuck out of me
It was worse for me; I was both scared and *confused* :D
The Construct will go upstairs if you choose to pull the lever in that next room that causes a power cut (?) If you choose to torture Carl, the Construct won't show up
Somebody should make a mod where you can access blocked off areas in the game, that would allow for more encounters
Albert yeah like the huge door at theta right before the dunbat room that’s covered in structure gel. I always hear proxies behind that door and I think you can see them sometimes.
21:42 WTFFFFF
🤣
BOIII that was close af I was sweating 🥵
32:34 scared the shit outta me
Me too, I thought the situation was hopeless but decided to push on anyway. Turns out, you should never give up
When ever im in that situation i pause and exit the game then delete it
@@Centrodden lmao
i dont get it wheres the scary part
The scary part was that I was chased by the monster and knew it was in close proximity, but couldn't assess my situation?... I mean, isn't that obvious?
Unless you're trolling, I really just wasted my time
32:34 HolY ! That was so fuckin intense.
Yes, it was *;_;*
until now this game still kicked ass, also scary as hell
I can’t believe you out ran that proxy, especially more than once. I never had to on normal mode but on the wikia it straight says they run faster than you so don’t even try to run or something like that lol.
Who need Mountain Dew when you’ve got terry and jin yoshida hard mode. Aka nightmare fuel
28:00 JEEZE! That pile of crap is fast on hard mode!
42:55 when the impostor is sus
nice one XD
What do you think.
A prequel for SOMA or a sequel for SOMA ?
(I think a prequel would be better because I realy want to see who built the first Simon copy in upsilon.)
Prequel pls
doesn't matter, anything FG make is awesome, and knowing even more about the story would still be interesting
SEQUEL SEQUEL SEQUEL
I want a real solution to the end of mankind.
Not a stupid matrix into space with no way to get out and do something. I want the earthbound Simon to get back to these people who are still alive and somehow manage to get them up and running, reproduce, fix the surface and get repopulate the Earth.
Yeah I understand your Idea behind a Sequel. But haven't you thought about what you just said? How do Machines or "resurrected" people repopulate the Earth or Fix the Surface? Thats far fetched, I have to say.
maybe he is trying to say there might be more people in some kind of shelter.
Loving the SOMA content as of late!
Ugh, I didn't expect the video would get _published_ like a new video, i.e. notifying subscribers and such. Simply wanted to make it public to let it be on the channel. Now everyone sees it on their Main page, dammit...
@amnesiaPUZZLES what's wrong with having your content being featured to subscribers and such? Don't you want people to watch your videos? Lol
38:14 scared the hell out of me as i was trying to recall if i did the same thing prior to that moment LOL i was so into the video XD i gotta check out your amnesia walk-through. i started it and couldn't get past hiding behind barrels haha haven't even encountered a monster yet. was just uneasy and unsettled!
I must say the post effects aren't really helping you during gameplay ;) I haven't made an Amnesia walkthrough, to be honest. Too busy with awesome cusotm stories ^^
21:50 now thats what i call luck!
Haha yeah, I couldn't believe it was possible to survive
I don't get it. The flesher according to the dedicated wiki states that it's blind but also says that if you stare at it, it'll get angry. So if it is blind then how will it know when being started at?
I didn't know it was blind haha. Never really thought of that, when he attacks you immediately haha
Maybe its like a sense. Like you get a feeling when someone is staring at you and you aren't even looking at them
Maybe it wirelessly connects to your camera and sees ya seeing it. Which makes it ANGERY.
Why you fucking staring at him for lol fucker is creepy as shit
34:10 DAMN!! :O
to be continued
21:47 NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo.... what?
It's blind.
Which of the "Monsters" in the Hardmode version do you think was the hardest and the Monster that scared you the most out of this play?
Construct scared me the most, but rather due to the fact it was first and I was surprised of the AI rework. It switched to full sprint pretty quickly, and would venture far looking for me when alerted. Seeing how revamped the AI was, I became more cautious towards later enemies and they weren't this surprising, I knew what to expect.
Hardest, Proxy at Mainframe, it was hilarious at first but then became a little frustrating as he would approach me despite me being as quiet as possible, so I was glad when I finally restarted the server/mainframe thing
Also, Flesher. Didn't allow for a single mistake...
34:13 i saw aker shadow hes holding nothing
Haha yeah, exactly
YOU KEPT TURNING YOUR FLASHLIGHT ON AND OFF. The proxy hears the click.
Right, that's creepy af
I didn't toggle my flashlight, maybe 1-2 times but not always. They still found me when I was just crouching far away and barely moving
And you don't want that ^^
Yeah I’ve beat the game weeks ago lol. Honestly one of the best horror and story games I’ve ever played. Developers are seriously under appreciated
@@glazedmunchkin5409 that ending before the credits run, WHAT! had to sit and think for a while about the implications, really good story i still havent played a better game for ages.
oh and when you look at yourself in the mirror for the first time wtf
You know... I never understood it why you can't just leave the flashlight turned on when going through the Proxies or Akers, same for the Fleshers who are also blind, it just makes it easier to see in front of you and, again, they're blind, so it shouldn't be a problem
You can! They don't see it, but can hear the flashlight turn on.
@@ollicron7397 but he said that turn on the flashlight before entering a room with them, bc if u switch it on and off they hear it, if u keep it on they dont see it bc theyre blind so:just keep it on
@@familiari5533 Exactly
The flashlight automatically turns off after some time, so it's best to keep it off or you risk it turning off at the worst time and alerting them to your location.
@@SkarkDogy I honestly didn't know that that's even a thing before, was that mechanic even shown anywhere at all? Any videos?
Why do I keep hearing terry akers and his proxies saying "holy shit" like here 32:48
28:40 When you started running I could hear the proxy begin to initiate its chase startup noise.
I can hear it now. It sounded more like search mode.
amnesiaPUZZLES oh.
10:17 - you barely looked at it...
I was too close to him anyway.
They should make like a Halloween micheal myers game and you are like stuck in his house
Just FORGET the sprint button when you face a proxy!
Haha yes, in this mod - definitely
