You may be very surprised how clean of a cut you can get and how thick you can go, Let me know if you have any questions.

How did you set the kerf? I use mach 3 on a 10'x20' plasma table and also have a torch. I've found that using the torch the parts do not come out to size like the plasma. They are either over or under depending on if its an inside cut or outside cut. Are you changing a setting to allow for this?

I am using vectric aspire to program (used for routers usualy ) I have the tool bit size set at the size of the cut . I found that ofcourse by test cutting and measuring the width of the cut. Some times i add a little more just because of finiishing .

Thank you !!!. My learning has been sending me in that direction for sure . I just did another run of those parts and raised my height up to ¼ off plate speed 11 ipm with a #2 victor at the oxygen settings you stated . Cut like a knife amd left a realy good finish.

Could a 110v plasma cutter be setup the same? Only for maybe .060 or thinner steel.

Yes you could use a router for a plasma however there are a few challenges with that .
-First it is very dirty for the electronics so a fan sucking the fumes away for sure
-Second thin metal will curel as you cut it and your hight can change. This will sometimes Boe up and the tip will rub or the cut part will peel up and the tip will hit it and drag the work .
If you do converti it I added a eagle torch height controller and tapped into the plasma cutter trigger and added a relay .

@@Wrighmachining thanks. I do have a couple of steppers and an older 3 axis controller. You're making me think 🤔

@@roscoepatternworks3471 cnc plasma can be a game changer in making things . Just program on rainy or to hot days amd cut on the good days and weld togeather like lego :)
