I am convinced that rock and metal fans appreciate good music, no matter what type it is, and are more supportive of good music, than any other groups of fans.
Anybody that claims to love music would have it no other way I listen to everything and by that I mean from Beethoven to slayer Native American flute to DMX if there's a mood there's a genre
@@keithriggle3192 ever talk to someone about the music they like and they say "oh I don't have a favourite I listen to everything." And then you ask them "what metal do you like?" and they answer "oh I don't like metal." Haha But yeah, you make a valid point, if rock/metal is your starting point it'll flow quite nicely into most genres, like Fighter by Christina Aguilera is such a good song! But if you ask a pop fan their opinion on Enter Sandman or Come As You Are and they'll look at you as if you have 10 heads ha

What I really love about this song is each round another instrument joins , so epic it's such a beautiful anthem , when Scotland splits from England I want to be there and join in and play along with the pipers . This song shows unity and strength of a strong and proud nation
I know this is a concert, but listen to this on headphones. Imagine yourself, Scottish Highlands, year 1297. Surrounded by the clatter of swords and wooden shields, the scent of trodden grass and earth. The sound of a crowd of hundreds all crying out to drive the English back to their lands to nevermore darken the shores of your home. The first couple minutes is a great ambience setting piece.

Along time ago my Family had to leave Scotland because the British tried to wipe us out. Members of the Clan came to the States. While In the Military I was fortunate to be stationed in England and get up to Scotland. Traveled back to where my ancestors came from and must admit the sound of the pipes have always stirred a spot in my soul. Didnt realize how strong the feeling was till I was in Scotland and heard the people and the Pipes playing.
All my life I have loved this kind of music and I love a strong looking man in a kilt (always wished I could meet one). LOL LOL. I love the beautiful country the lush green grasses and rolling hills. I love the laid-back lifestyle and the work ethic of these countries. Don’t get me wrong I love America with all my heart and I wouldn’t change who my family ended up being once my mother was adopted. I wouldn’t even write something like this if my mother were alive or my grandparents who adopted her. Recently I found out that my heritage is Scot and Irish. So many things makes sense now why I love this music why a man in a kilt totally turns me on why my hair is red and why even when I dance I have that little bit of clogging in my steps!!! My mothers biological name was Farquhar. I’ve started a little bit of research and have talk to someone who is also part of my mothers family. Hopefully one day I can go to my home country.
have a wee look on here at TH-cam to at the Scottish bands ...RURA......SKERRYVORE....Tide Lines....... and ELEPHANT SESSIONS those four bands among many others here in Scotland give a more modern slant to our traditional music ,But if you prefer the alternative older take try Julie Fowlis ...... well, history "answered" that scottish people want to be scottish no more. They chose UK over their independence, freedom and dignity. That was a really unique opportunity for Scotland to shine. Now, Scotland is (to me and others, too) no more and kilts are just simple dresses. Too bad. Glorified past, but shameful future.
Karlw Watson bet you wave your wee tricolor like most who voted snp and before you say im not scottish well i am and more than most of the gob shites that voted yes
braveheart1874 Oil runs out? Not the only thing that'll run out. Today I was embarrassed for Scotland having that guy in the European Parliament practically begging on his knees to that European President guy to save him and Scotland. He should of stood proud and talked in front of everyone and stated he's proud to be Scottish and declared he'd fight for Scotland
With all due respect to Grave Digger: May all the Scots keep marching, forever and ever. No price is too much to pay for Freedom. Be the enslavers foreign or domestic. No tyrants. No masters. People speak about the Americans and their flag being the symbol of freedom. To those, I can only think that they never heard about Scotland. And when that blue and white Saint Andrew's Cross waves, we are seeing the TRUE symbol of Freedom. Be proud of who you are, and who your ancestors have been, Scottish men. Be proud. It is better to die standing, as a free man, than to live on your knees.
@@mknewlan67 since they have fought for it. Free does not mean independent. They have not fought for independence, like Ireland, but they fought for freedom.
Morfeu I see, we see freedom a little differently over here and I think that is the difference. I’m not saying either way is right or wrong, just different. One thing I learnt in the Army is no matter the nationality everyone tends to want the same thing. Freedom to do as they want. Much love and respect from Michigan! Merry Christmas.
@@mknewlan67 freedom to do as you want does not necessarily means independence. You see, you may be free to do as you please, but you will always be dependent on your family, on the farmers that produce your food, from the industries that benefit it and so forth. We are in a world where "independence" means doing everything on your own, which is virtually impossible. But, the good thing is, you can be free, but remain relying on others, as long as all those exchanges are voluntary! No force needed, if your arguments are strong enough, but when that fails, be ready for everything. Cheers and Merry Christmas, from a Jewish Brazilian guy. ;) Much love and respect to the US, the biggest helper of my beloved Israel!
I am a Stewart but I am only 43% Scottish. I was raised by a man named Dench (Old english for Danish) I have more respect for him, than I could show a thousand people. That being said I am proud of my ancestry too and always wondered why the sound of bagpipes got my blood moving. Bagpipes are my alarm, from now until I am in the ground. I must warn not to play bagpipes at my funeral as you may wake me up.
I always tear up for this. On my mom's side it's my ancestry, as a kid hearing this meant Rowdy Roddy Piper was on his way ;) And then of course epic fucking metal. well done!!

+Bintang Terang . Bintang...my wife is Filipino and we always attend the Scottish highland games and festival at the Queen Mary in Long beach,ca.She loves it and I get to wear my kilt for 2 days and you have to see the many backgrounds that like to wear kilts. like the Japanese family that we see each time.
The opening remind me of braveheart. Awesome movie.
FREEDOM TO SCOTLAND, CHEERS FROM CROATIA !!!
I was there.... amazing show.
Scottish History will never be tainted. Live free and Brave
well, history "answered" that scottish people want to be scottish no more. They chose UK over their independence, freedom and dignity. That was a really unique opportunity for Scotland to shine. Now, Scotland is (to me and others, too) no more and kilts are just simple dresses. Too bad. Glorified past, but shameful future.
Babis Babalis for as long as 100 of us remain , its still our Scotland . Not all kilts are empty . Our day will come .
@Brendan McGlinchey . Well said. SAOR ALBA GU BRATH
Listening to the pipes going into battle, i think would put a iron rod up your spine!
2016 and still listening to this :)

Wow enserio que me quede sorprendido me encanta este tipo de canciones tocaron muy bien saludos desde Mexico 👋👍
I am an American....and I love the bag pipes!!! AMAZING
I'm Irish and German. Always love a good pipe, whiskey, and metal or rock. It's in my blood!
I really love Chris Boltendahl's voice! He has the same type of voice like David Hemmings uses as Cassius in the Gladiator film from 2000! LOVE IT!
Dear God! Was Gladiator that long ago? Tempus Fugit...
Watching this, I love being Scottish 🏴
Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it!
When did the Scottish gain their freedom from England? Serious question.
I was raised by a man named Dench (Old english for Danish)
I have more respect for him, than I could show a thousand people.
That being said I am proud of my ancestry too and always wondered why the sound of bagpipes got my blood moving.
Bagpipes are my alarm, from now until I am in the ground.
I must warn not to play bagpipes at my funeral as you may wake me up.
I always tear up for this. On my mom's side it's my ancestry, as a kid hearing this meant Rowdy Roddy Piper was on his way ;)
And then of course epic fucking metal. well done!!
The Drum Corps, and bagpipes take me back,,, LOVE IT!!!
Pick up your arms and follow to battle. I can't imagine being on the wrong side of this battle tune...
