And I'm proud of my Father's ( Scottish/Native American) and my Mother's ( Welsh,British,French and Germanic/Saxon.)gift of rich heritage running through my viens....I just wish I had the means to travel back to my over sea relatives.
I know this is a concert, but listen to this on headphones. Imagine yourself, Scottish Highlands, year 1297. Surrounded by the clatter of swords and wooden shields, the scent of trodden grass and earth. The sound of a crowd of hundreds all crying out to drive the English back to their lands to nevermore darken the shores of your home. The first couple minutes is a great ambience setting piece.
I am a Stewart but I am only 43% Scottish. I was raised by a man named Dench (Old english for Danish) I have more respect for him, than I could show a thousand people. That being said I am proud of my ancestry too and always wondered why the sound of bagpipes got my blood moving. Bagpipes are my alarm, from now until I am in the ground. I must warn not to play bagpipes at my funeral as you may wake me up.
